I think it would be hard to get new members if it was a paid site. I would never have paid to join this site even though I am addicted to it!!

I buy virtually all my clothes and shoes off the internet at discounted prices. I love staring at all the choices and getting that fun package in the mail....it's soo exciting. Usually the highlight of my day when a pretty package arrives in the mail.

I don't think credit cards or pet supplies or something like that would be appropriate.....we are mainly dancers here and I would like to see dancer related products.

uh, Pryce. The last time you rolled this topic out (2 mos ago) I PM'd you because I was interested in sposoring. You never got back to me, so I was kind of wondering how serious you are.

Pryce

Quite serious and we're currently working on a project that will help keep the site free and open for some time. More word will soon be sent to every member.

Your service was "no documentation loans" and there isn't much interest for financial services according to the poll. That is why I have been waiting to reply. At this time, I don't have much to offer you.

We will be working on a banner system as soon as the current project is complete. When the system is in place, sponsors will be able to purchase 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 30,000, 50,000, 75,000, and 100,000 impressions on targeted sections or topics. The entire forum currently serves about 30,000 impressions a day. Prices are still being determined.

What are you looking for as far as donations in the time being? I would love to donate, but unsure of the amount.

Lets say a good percentage of women/men ( 100 or more) on stripper web donated 50 bucks each, would that bring the yearly sub. down? And if we are donators, would you take that into consideration?

Pryce, you are absolutely wonderful and I thank you for all that you do! I also voted for clothes/dancer wear because I am always looking for something original at decent prices.
Also, I would like to donate, but unsure of what would help and how exactly to do that. Please let me know!!
But PLEASE, PLEASE, PRYCE, PLEASE NONE OF THOSE ANNOYING, BLINKING BANNERS, if at all possible, I can't focus on what I read with those! Thanks, Much Love :grouphug:

I think it's wonderful that you're giving members/supporters the choice. I was suprised someone posted they wouldn't visit a sponsors site. They are supporting this site as of yet...I'd visit, and buy if I liked something. But I'm a big fan of online shopping. But I'd go to the pet store for my pet. I'll sign up as a paid member if you so choose..... :censored:

Quick Question Pryce...

Earlier today, I was looking for the donate button, and I was unable to find it? I clicked on the "Support SW" on the bottom, but it came up as basically a blank page saying "text here" or something to that effect.

If you could tell me how I can locate the donate option, I'd appreciate it. I've parked my tush here for quite some time now, and I'd like to give something back for all the hard work you and GF have done.

Thanks

Pryce,

This maybe a strange suggestion...

You want to attract new members...keep the flow going and memberships qrowing...

sponsors are a great idea...maybe be very selective with what companies you let on board and instead of charging a monthly membership fee you can charge a pay per post. Say 1.00 per post?

It'll keep people from posting that aren't in the biz or don't have anything nice to say from having input. It'll certainly support the site without alienating new people.

Just a suggestion...

I buy all sorts of stuff online! I didn't choose any one option because I'll buy just about anything online from furniture to tampons if I find a better deal than in regular stores. It's also easier for me to shop online than in regular stores simply because of my stripper hours. The only things I won't buy online are shoes and pants - too hard to fit. I buy lots of stripper gear online, spandex is easy to fit and if I don't like it I can sell it. I would totally be interested in insurance / financial products, hair / cosmetics, health and pet products as well. These are all things I regularly shop online for anyway.

Oh yeah, I would TOTALLY buy StripperWeb logo merchandise! With the site's colors.... Hell yeah! I'd be wearing the t-shirts to work all the time! That's a great idea! Gimme thongs, baby tees, tube tops and garters please!

What about services? Photography, video, talent management....for dancers that want websites or who want to get a side/replacement career in modeling

also...what about an employment site?

I would pay a fee because I already know how great it is; but I think that it would discourage a growing membership which is what makes this site so great.
I selected financial services. I also think it would be great to have an online book sponsor. Something related to health and sales that would help us to be better at our jobs. I have ordered a lot of books from greenery press and amazon.com to help me with my sales tactics. Another idea would be to have a theatrical makeup sponsor like kryolan or ben nye.
Stripper Web logo merchandise would be so cool. :D I would definately buy it. You guys could make a ton of money. Maybe we could even get Playboy or Howard Stern to sponsor us.

tampafldancer--> We've recieved individual donations from $10 to over $100. Because donations don't come that often, the $30-$50 ones help more because it takes 10 or less a month to pay our hosting. As you said, if 100 or more members donated $50 a year, that would REALLY help out. In fact the membership prices I stated in an earlier thread were trying to hit about $50 per member per year.

NikkiD -> Thank you. The donation info is all at http://www.stripperweb.com/donate.html. I will also not allow super flashy/annoying banners. We actually want you to enjoy our sponsors. ;)

4footfine -> Thank you. As for charging per post, I am concerned that would limit the communication. To me a flat fee and unlimited posting would be a more attractive option. I will definetly be selective in who advertises here.

Rhiannon -> The proper donation link is posted above, I have to fix the other "sponsor" links around the site - they do not work as you found out.

Bridgette -> We are currently working on a new logo and should have merchandise available soon. :) Thanks for the feedback!

livenudegirlsunite -> We are also planning to put together a book and video store where you can purchase books and items from Amazon through SW.

ProPhotog -> Physical services are difficult because our members are spread out. I've considered networking photographers to cover geographic areas, but it would be straying from what I know.

That would be great! I've been ordering through Amazon for years. It would be cool if it helped out SW in the process.

I wouldn't mind paying, but would want to see more male strippers on here besides myself, and make it oriented toward guy stripping - if only a little - as it is for the girls (which I don't have a problem with at all, but I am putting forth in light of the pay issue). For example, I would like to see the male dancer gallery up again if this were to be the case. :)
Pryce,

How about setting up a subforum for male strippers? This way they'll feel this website is also for them and might pull more of them in with such a subforum. Naturally, you'll need to moderate it to keep it on topic. If you do this, I'd suggest giving it a different color theme than pink. Blue perhaps? Even having the listing for their subforum on the listing of subforums be in that color ... if you can swing that.

Pryce,

I'd like to suggest you place a "Help Wanted" ad on these forums for "salespersons". I think they would be the best thing you could do to make this site profitable. You could make the position commission based so there's no money out of your pocket. That will not attract any professionals that have years of experience, but it could rope you in people that's willing to give it a good try. There's a lot of ideas in this thread alone that are simple to do and only require an investment of time.

If you go this route, you need to be very clear on what you want the individuals to do. While a pro would find this restricting and a bit naive, an amateur will find it very helpful and less scary. In your "Help Wanted" ad (or rather the full ad which your hook ad links to), you lay out all the things they could do for your website, the commission rate, who you're looking for, and so forth. You can prioritize the things they're to do if you like, but I'd caution against doing so since amateurs usually feel they're good at certain things and not at others. Thus if you prioritize the tasks and they're not in line with what the amateur feels they're good at, they might not feel they're qualified to apply. In fact, I'd word it in such a way that it implies they get to choose which they work on. Since the position is commission-based, you're the beggar thus cannot be too choosy.

And note that I used the plural for the position. There is no reason why you cannot employ more than one since they're working on commission anyway. Also, in this thread alone, posters have stated having done some of the things they or others suggest. If you allow them to do what they already know how to do and don't pressure them to do more beyond that, they might just join your team and focus on that part. For example, Leigh Landon might be a great one to handle the t-shirts for you. Oh, and there's no reason why you cannot PM these posters directly to see if they would be up for such a job.

To kick this idea off, I'd suggest starting a thread (including a directional at SCJ to it) about starting up such a position to get more and fresh input. What the job could do, sales ideas, commission structure, and so forth. I'd recommend putting a sticky on it to keep it at the top of the thread lists for at least a couple weeks. It wouldn't surprise me that you get some bites from posters just from that thread alone. Then after the thread has run its course, simply write up the "Help Wanted" ad and post it. Maybe you'll get some takers. Maybe not. It is pretty much a no-lose situation for you. And if you need help in writing up such an ad, simply send me a PM and I can whip one out for you. Then again, you might want to also run a "Help Wanted" ad for a "Sales Manager". This being another commission-based position. Getting a commission off of the revenue their salespeople bring in. However, I would STRONGLY recommend you get someone with at least some marketing experience for such a position. Your salespeople need to feel the one directing them has a clue about what they're doing. That and the sales manager really does need a clue about what they're doing to do it properly

Now I might be wrong, but I get the sense that this website needs to move up to the next level. Getting salespeople and even a sales manager will do that. Good luck!

Then again, I think blue is too calm of a color. A fiery red would probably be better. :firefight :flamed:

OK, I haven't read every single post on here. BUT!
I lilke the idea I've read in the last few posts, about the SW clothing. I would definitely buy it, and wear it with pride ;)
The only problem with a paid site is the credit card thing. I don't have one, I can't get one, and I don't want one. So (since I am assuming others have this problem) maybe you could make it payment accessible thru savings account? Or something equally as easy?
Or maybe if we don't have credit cards/checking accounts--if we wanted to become a paying member (which I would definitely want to do because I love it here) but don't have available means in the typical internet style, perhaps we could send a donation of the cost of membership or more?

(Hence why I didn't vote, since I can't buy anything online anyway).

The answer to paying online without a credit card is to set up with PayPal. You can link it only to your checking account (provided you have one, my roommate doesn't). Lots of stores online accept PayPal as does ebay. I would definetly purchase stripperweb clothing! Would looooove to advertise for you! I know this post started a long time ago but I wish you would come up with something like that! Having the pay and free versions of the site are good too. I'd pay in a heartbeat!

I believe, and like Gabe said-this is an older thread, there was an address where you could send money instead of actually going through Paypal (at least for donations).

Pryce,
Eventhough the clothing and jewelry accessories are very important, I feel that cosmetics and fregrance will benifit us more. Many of the members don't dance anymore and some are male that will not be interested in dance costumes. But everyone needs a new scent and everyone loves to look good.

Vixie i have to agree. We need and want great stripper clothing. Important. Also, for someone like me who will not be stripping but probably only another year in clubs, but still important to me and all who continue to strip and our newbies, cosmetics are very important, as are anything that puts us in the mood for stripping like a sexy fragrance (also scent for our men who like to smell HOT) bath scents/gels, etc.

I went with clothing/jewelery. Cosmetics are good too as long as it's stuff people would really want to use and not cheap crap. I think it should be something related to dancing or being sexy like Pamela said. Also the SW merchandize is a good idea like T-shirts and stuff. Pet stuff would be cool since I love my puppy so much but please no debt reduction crap. Those companies are awful. Whatever it is ought to be something somewhat related to what this site is about but just not porn (not that you had that as an option.) You just don't want this site to turn into some place that it's not.
