Your talking Dead to Rights.
Your right, that's the one!
As for Resident Evil, I had the first one that I played on the computer and it SCARED THE SHIT out of me! I hated that game, I couldn't play it without getting nightmares.
And Everquest, I have been a victim too. I once sat and watched my best friend play for 4 hours and missed work to watch. I hate that game now and won't play anymore.
TOMB RAIDER! It's the devil, my brother and my dad wouldn't get off the computer if the house was on fire for that game. Though I have to admit, it was a bad-ass game.

SIMS!!! SIMS!!! SIMS!!!
The stupid little games you find on the internet like Bounce Out and Collapse
and I really enjoy FPS like Counterstrike, Battlefield and other games like Civilization... but I really suck at all those games cuz I rarely play. The LAN Parties are fun though :-D

I also play Grand Theft Auto, like I said in my earlier post. It's too fun. Although you can actually "Pick up" a hooker, and have sex with her in the car, to get your health meter back up, I've never done it.. lol.. Instead, when I'm walking on the street and spot one, I beat them up and take their money.. LOL
The correct methodology is first pay the hooker to have sex and increase your health. Then, when finished, get out of the car and kill them and take their money.
Yes, indeed. Part and parcel of being a timebomb.
-afx
LOL yes, that's probably the right way to do it, but, I have cheat codes for the health thing.. I just do it to take out some frustrations though. They fight back sometimes though. Gotta love the Kung-Fu hookers.. hehe
:mischievous:
Here's how I like to have fun and make a little free money in GTA3:
Steal a car and intentionally wreck it at a busy intersection so you can tie up traffic in all directions.
Wait for other cars and pedestrians to close in on the corner. Get as far away from ANY vehicle as possible. Type in BANGBANGBANG. All the cars will explode.
Then you go into the carnage and pick up the money from all the dead pedestrians. :hyper:
More onlookers will come upon the scene. Again get as far away as possible, wait until you have as many people close to the cars to ensure a maximum kill. Then type BANG. The cars will explode again, and again you walk in and pick up the money.
You can repeat this sometimes like 5 or 6 times and since its a cheat code, the act won't be attributed to you. The cops won't come after you.

OMG SCGirl, I know what you mean about EQ!
My bf was a little more inventive when I was spending too much time playing online. He got online in the game with me and kept following me and harrassing me on the servers until I took a break! Kind of funny now that I think about it. LMAO
LOL...I thought about doing that....but I'm not going to pay money to go on there and chase him around. I did, however, try to learn more about it. I thought maybe we could make it something we could do together. He let me start a character and taught me how to use it and everything. But then, of course, he just got jealous and wanted to play the character FOR me instead of WITH me.... yeah, obviously that didn't work. There's just no way to win with that game.
Did anyone hear of a lawsuit brought up against the makers of the game? I remember my bf mentioning it to me once a long time ago. Apparently some guy who was really addicted to it got into an argument or something with someone on there. Made him so upset that he took his life. Now his parents are suing, saying that EQ is addictive and that the makers know it is and won't do anything to protect the consumer (like include a warning label--like THAT would do anything! pssh!). I think that there needs to be a new clinic for this darn thing! Actually, hell, I think there need to be rehab clinics for all sorts of online addictions--it's really becoming a plague in the US right now. But anyway, I'll shut up....hell, I'm addicted to SW--I should be typing a paper right now but am I? NO, I'm posting here....yet again! Ha!
I'm not into the idea of suing the game manufacturer because it's the same thing as a gambling addict suing Caesars Palace because he lost the house at the blackjack table or asking for millions of dollars from tobacco companies because I wanted to smoke cigarettes for twenty years and got cancer.
That doesn't change the fact that your boyfriend has a serious issue here, and I really do think there are people that can help. Check into some LCSWs in your area (Licensed Clinical Social Workers). You may not need to go so far as admitting him into a clinic, and yet there are still people who can help.
I'm reminded of a story that happened to my best friend. Years before he and I met, he was a horrible drug addict. His girlfriend used to be friends with a supplier so they had every drug you could imagine in their house and it was usually free or didn't cost much. He told me the day he did so much coke that he couldn't sleep for a whole week. He did some self-reflection and realized this wasn't the life for him. While his GF was gone, he took all the drugs in the house and flushed them. Then he got on the phone with all his suppliers and told them point blank, that if they ever sold him drugs again, he was going to call the police on them. That put that to an end REAL quick. When his GF came home, he told her what he did and said that if she really loved him, she'd get cleaned up with him. She opted for the drugs. The point I'm getting at here is if this guy REALLY loves you, the computer games are secondary and he needs to prove it. My suggestion is to take the computer out of the house to a friend's house or somewhere where you know it can be safe, just out of reach. It will probably be tough since he's on it all the time, but just wait until he's out of the house if you can. He'll throw a huge fit when he knows it's gone, and that's the time to seriously confront him on it. If the game is more important, then I hate to say it but you'll have your answer as to whether or not he's worth keeping. If he's cool without the game, then you may have someone worth saving yet. It's still a good time to get some help and intervention anyway though. Most therapists that work with addictions worth with many kinds, not just drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc. I'm sure you can find someone in your area who can help, and yet I think a little forceful intervention your part by hiding the computer is a good idea. Tell him you sold it or threw it out, but didn't hide it because then he'll just call everyone trying to find it. Let me know if that's a decision you are willing to do and if it helps though.

I just couldn't get into GTA3. I just lost interest in it after a short while. Oddly enough though, I did play and recently finished Simpsons Hit And Run, which uses the same engine as GTA3. I guess I'm just more of a Simpsons fan than I am a carnage fan. :)

I want my carnage to be with cavalry and archers. I found FF (old NES version) about ten seconds after I grew out of Duck Hunt, and that was it.. hooked for all of middle and high school. Currently, Age of Mythology is my new vice.
Mmmmm... God powers. There are few thrills as great as seeing a pristine Greek civilization... and raining burning meteors down upon it. Ohhhhh yeah.

Lilith - We'll have to do head-to-head AOM sometime. A great game. Although the Egyptians are a pain in the butt. I think I like the Vikings the most.

Lilith, such great taste in video games! I have to let you know though, that raining meteors down upon that civilization is nothing like unleashing a mighty Titan upon them. Get the expansion pack! ;D

Nintendo game system freak here. I have a GBA and a GC. I am currently stuck on Mario Golf (tons of fun really). I was addicted to Animal Crossing for the longest time. Speaking of AC I should really go check on my town...

There's another PC game that I used to always play..
"Deer's Revenge"
Such a fun game! You actually run around as a deer hunting the hunters.. lol.. It's so funny after you kill one, you mount their heads on the wall. And as lures, you throw out Pizza, beer, and nudie magazines.. LOL

Lestat~
Got the expansion pack, but I'm not there yet. The full "Age of" set was a present from the BF; a consolation prize since yesterday he pulled out to sea for a month. I've got Age of Kings, Age of Conquerors, AOM and the expansion pack. He said he was some sort of hot shot. Naturally I took this as a challenge and my new goal is to kick the shit out of his poncy Egyptians the moment he gets home. Damned Son of Osiris, I chose the Norse simply because then I could Bolt his ass.
Josh~
Gimme time, this is only my second day playing it. I think I've mastered a semi-rush with Thor, and anyone can boom (but not against the Egyptians! Damned walls and SoO- booming them is expensive as hell). I've won every game so far but I'm only playing the computer. It cheats (Greek heros regenerate even after you've demolished their Temple) but not very well (it never attacks first).
I love this game. It used to take me 3 hours to beat it and now I'm down to 20 minutes and 13 military units.

Lilith - Are you playing at the lowest level? It takes me a lot longer to beat it most of the time. Of course, I also use the big map, so there are larger forces involved by the time we meet.
Lilith

Josh, yup I still have it set to Easy and I am using the biggest map. I've established a good routine of smooth economy and scouting which opens the map; by the time I hit the third era, it's a mere matter of moments before I capture the other four settlements. The closest settlement to my opponent is my battleground site and the next closest is walled off and gated (just in case I need reinforcements and care to fight a two-front battle). As soon as I hit the fourth era, I start building my army and the war is on. Depending upon how well-situated my closest settlement is, I can usually wipe the enemy out in under two minutes.
Like I said, it's a semi-rush. I need to streamline my building and economy so I advance through the eras more quickly. Since I can't strike until I've finished advancing, that is what slows me down. The flaw in this strategy is that I save resources to advance quicker by not having an army until the last moment. This works against a boomer or the computer, but I would crumble against an early attack.
I'm developing another strategy for a Norse rush which I'll be attempting tomorrow; the problem is that if it doesn't work then I'll be left lagging behind for the rest of the game. It's also rather flawed in competition with a computer, as the computer isn't fazed by attacks on villagers as a real player would be.
*sigh* I love this game.

I used to play a lot of games on the PC till I got my Gamecube. My faves on the PC were Simcity 4, The Sims, Civilization 3 and the Casino games. For the Gamecube I own every Madden NFL Football and NCAA College Football game. I play the dynasty modes for both and import draft picks from the College game. Endless fun I tell you. I also own Need for Speed Underground, Star Wars Rogue Leader, Mario Kart Double Dash and SSX Tricky, all addictive in some respect till you beat them.

I love starcraft but hate the little hackers online. Maybe I'm just slower :-\ beats me. I play a buddy of mine online all the time and I kick his ass but if I play anyone else I get my ass kicked or they leave before the game is over.>:( Want to play a game kitana?
I am thinking about going out and getting halo today. I'm thinking I can't go to the next level on the demo.

It's not you, those BSers (Back Stabbers) are the reason I don't play StarCraft online anymore. The same can almost be said with Diablo II. Too many jerks to have a fun game. >:(
World of WarCraft is coming out Tuesday 23rd, so I'm preparing to ignore real-life. ;D
