Rob Lowe all the way! Oxford Blues, and the one with Andrew McCartey and the older woman.. anyone remember that one? The outsiders and Matt Dillon...oh, I miss the 80's....

Rob Lowe was so hot in St. Elmo's Fire! Woo! I remember "Mannequin", Gynger. Is that the one you're thinking of with Andrew McCarthy? lol.. that movie was classic. Another one of my faves that I can't remember the name of starred Patrick Dempsey, and he was a pizza guy who was basically a manwhore.. I can't remember what the name was.. but it was a great movie!

As for NKOTB.. lol.. The only one of those guys that caught my eye was Donnie. Aside from the rat-tail thing, I found the fact that he didn't shave and wasn't as clean cut as the rest of them, totally irresistable! lol
I can't believe I am admitting this.. my b/f in Highschool was a delivery boy..... LOL... and I used to give him shit over that movie big time! No, the one I am thinking of with Rob and Andrew also has Jaqueline Bisset in it, where she is a rich woman that's been "ignored" and Rob plays her son, and Andrew ends up having an affair with her, and Rob and Andrew meet at school and Andrew doesn't know that Rob is her son, and he (andrew) tells him about this older woman he's been banging... its actually quite funny.... oh yeah baby..... St. Elmo's Fire..... what a hottie! Gotta go now, I'm getting warm! ;D

LOL Thank you Deanna & Blade! I was racking my brain trying to remember what it was.. My first guess what "The Pickup Artist", but then I remembered that was Robert Downey, Jr. and Molly Ringwald. Another good one.

I also had a major crush on River Phoenix (moment of silence).

Alright.. I was going through some pictures.. And yes, I found two. I must warn you, it's not for the squeamish. I have no idea what I was thinking.. This was my denim phase. But that's not the worst part. Look at the socks WITH the flats? LOL.. It seemed to be a very short (luckily) fad in my school. My sister is in the pic also, I feel MUCH better about what I was wearing now.. LOL. This was taken I guess between '86 and '87, before my higher-than-the-clouds hair. Enjoy! hehe

LOL...I remember a lot of the stuff from the 80's you guys are talking about.

I'm 25 years old, so I was pretty young in the 80's. There was a girl who lived down the street who used to babysit me-I thought she was so cool and I wanted to be just like her. lol She said a lot of those comments mentioned earlier, like "Gag me with a spoon" and "Go ahead, make my day" and of course I would say these things too because I wanted to be like her. I remember I used to say "gnarly" and "radical" a lot too. When I thought something was cool, it was "gnarly" or "radical." I graduated from 6th grade in 1991 (which was the early 90's, but I guess people still used some of the 80's slang words), and a lot of people wrote in my yearbook "Have a rad summer dude!" lol

I used to watch Fraggle Rock on TV; I totally forgot about that show until someone here brought it up! I also watched all those cheesy shows like Family Ties and Growing Pains. I had a crush on Kirk Cameron and I had pictures of him all over my room that I tore out of Teen Beat and Bop magazines, until I lost interest in him and started obsessing about the New Kids on the Block. Jordan was my favorite New Kid.

4th grade (late 80's) was when I really started worrying about being cool. If you were a girl in my 4th grade class, you had to bring a Trapper Keeper to school and you couldn't just use any backpack, you had to have an Esprit tote bag, or else you were a loser. It was also cool to wear jean jackets (I had an NKOTB button on mine too!), and you had to tight roll the bottoms of your jeans or else you weren't cool. It was cool to wear banana clips in your hair too. I remember the jelly bracelets too; I used to have a ton of them!

Madonna, New Kids on the Block, Tiffany, Belinda Carlisle, and Debbie Gibson were my favorite artists/musical groups to listen to. :headphones:

I like this thread. It's making me remember a lot of things I forgot about. :)

I used to love that game too! In 5th grade, our class only had one computer, and we could use it during recess. Everybody in my class loved that game and would fight over who got to play it! LOL
