UPDATE ! I shall be in Rockhampton from Wed March 2nd (today) until Sunday March 20th. I probably won't be back online and therefore be able to post to my Yahoo Group (especially) about my experiences until Tuesday 22nd March (or around that time).
;D Keep posting about your experiences everyone ! Keep those reviews coming !
Good luck in Rocky Gold Coast Girl!
I'm off to London in ten days! Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggh!

Wow, exciting!!!
One of the English girls at my work said that Bournemouth is good for stripping and house fees and acom etc cheaper than London - there's 3 clubs there, I'm not sure of the names though but thourght I'd mention it incase it was useful. She also mentioned that there's recently been some law / licencing changes so there are more full nude clubs springing up all over Britain.
Shit...its only 8 days now!

Okay.. I'm back from Rockhampton. With only 4 nights to go in my contract I decided to go home early on Thursday instead of just "waiting it out" to go home (for free) on Sunday.
I just couldn't stay any longer. I needed and wanted to go home early. It is only now that I've seen all the bills that I have due at the end of the month and in the first week of April that I'm thinking I should've stayed and earnt SOMETHING.
Just couldn't.. I actually care about my sanity.;)
My experience wasn't as negative as Letreece's experience however the money is no longer there.:( My best week was my second week as alot of my regulars showed up and spent something on me that week.:)
I also managed to figure out a way of lap dancing so that the person didn't touch me too much.
I must admit tho' the $550 weekly fee does tick me off a little right now. :gnasher: Whereas last year one could earn $2000+ per week and therefore still "go home" with a decent sum of money $1500+ (after fee).... the average is around $1500 therefore I get to "go home" with around $1000 per week. :(
Whilst I wasn't the hardest worker (approach everyone), I did work.8) I realise that patience is a key word for how to work Teaze in Rockhampton right now. Patience with how slooow the nights are... patience with how long it takes someone to spend any money... just patience.;)
What I paid in fees will be in (brackets)
Week 1 -- ($150) $135; ($50) $115; ($150) $410; ($200) $310
Week 1 Totals -- ($550) $970
Week 2 -- ($150) $410; ($50) $120; ($200) $260; ($150) $340
Week 2 Totals -- ($550) $1130
I basically left early because I was feeling home-sick. :'( I was missing my cat and home (not my home club just home) ALOT. Due to not earning that much ("take home").. I didn't do much on my nights off (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). I was bored and just wanted to go home.
On top of that two new dancers started in my last week. Two new dancers I know who are good dancers and good hustlers. I crumbled on Wednesday night and "took home" $80 (they took $100 in fee). :'( There isn't enough patrons frequenting the club each night to have room for three really good dancers (who know how to sell). (It is a small club with 7 dancers working max. per night and even then that can seem too many for this small club)
I also left because the arrival of those two dancers meant that the edge I had (and used) in my last two weeks wasn't there. :( I was no longer the "woman" (I would sell dances saying that I was a woman and that other dancers were just girls), I no longer had the edge sales-wise (being the best hustler), I was definately no longer the sexiest (something I used to good effect on stage for those last two weeks).... I had lost my edge. (I usually don't care however when working in such a small club with such few other dancers ... one needs and requires an edge)
Plus I could just see that my last week would just be plain frustrating earnings-wise (and therefore stressful) due to just plain lack of patron numbers.
The owner is in the process of building another room (extending) and that room will be more "nightclub" than strip club. I just felt like his focus wasn't on the strip-club part and knowing full well he wasn't advertising (he is advertising for dancers just not for patrons) didn't help.>:(
On top of all this.... Rockhampton from April 1 will also have the (dis)pleasure of having a 3am lockin just like Gold Coast and Cairns. :thumbsdow
Rocky has changed since my last stint. I was planning to go back in June as that is when the US Army guys will be "in town" however I might not be allowed back due to skipping out (even if it was only skipping out 4 nights before the end of my contract and the owner had more than enough dancers working).
We'll have to see. :-\ I might not go back now as the money doesn't seem be there. It could just be the time of year (I realise this) however I'm not holding my breath.
I won't say "avoid Rockhampton at all costs" like I do with Mt Isa. (Latest reports from Mt Isa is that I should continue to say to everyone to avoid that place like the plague!) All I will say is.... be prepared to part with your money and have patience !!
When I say "be prepared to part with your money"... I mean that the $550 weekly fee will cut into your total "take home" weekly earnings. When I say "have patience" I mean that the crowds aren't huge, you may not be tipped anything each time you are on stage and it may only be able to hustle one dance between each of your stage sets.
Oh yeah... and only go if you can handle being in a small town with nothing much to do Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.... for your 3 week contract.
I would much rather work elsewhere for 5-6 nights a week where I do have the potential to earn up to $2000 each week where I pay for my flights, accommodation and so forth (esp. somewhere with stuff to do on my nights off).
(or even just stay home and work more nights)

Just FYI -- Hollywood Showgirls has a new Dancer Manageress ! ;D ;D ;D
Now I actually like working at this club and find that my desire to work elsewhere isn't as great anymore. The new Dancer Manageress is someone I have plenty of respect for and am glad got the promotion. ;D

I'm giving this thread a little bit of life again -- reminding everyone to post their "Trip Reports" as such in here. ;D I really really need everyone's help now as I'm not going to be doing alot of travelling for the remainder of this year.
My immediate plans are to enter the Exotic Angels competition in May as I just found out it will be held locally (Broadbeach). I'll keep everyone up2date there. ;D
Otherwise, I was planning to do a two week stint down in Melbourne either June/July/August. Try and work it so that I work 5 nights at Dallas Dancers and 5 nights at Spearmint Rhino. ;) Seems Goldfingers is going thru a "dirty" phase right now and Bar20 just fired alot of dancers... including those who seemed to have been there for ages and didn't really do anything wrong... not good! :O
One thing is for certain -- I am not going to work within my home club during November. Around that time, I will be giving Sinsations in Canberra "a go" as that is one club that has always been on my "must try" list.
Also, it seems that the "topless no touch" club in Broadbeach has been a nude club for quite some time! :-[ My information on this club is a tad out of date. I'm going to give it a visit soon so I can update my information (and maybe sway a couple of dancers to join the site!)

why dont you go overseas for a month or so??!! sounds like aus is a bit of a hit and miss place to dance right now.
or get hold of joannes exotic angels to get a lil extra dancing work here and there to pass time?
btw, has players been auctioned yet?????

In re: Players .... I lost my only contact to what was happening over there. She's in Melb. and isn't going back to Players therefore I have absolutely no idea what is happening over there.
I would love to 'nick off' to Scotland for 2-3 months or so due to the whole UK Pound to AUD conversion being so lucrative however I do not have the money to do such a thing right now. Plus my focus is on Exotic Angels right now.
Otherwise, I was contemplating putting my name down for a few other agencies here such as Catharine's of the Gold Coast and A1 Strippers .... 'coz as you stated I already have my name down with JoAnne's Exotic Dancers. I would mainly do lingere/topless/nude waitressing as I do have Thur-Sat "free" now. I wouldn't do GString and R rated (open leg no toys or anything of the sort) shows until after Exotic Angels. *contemplating*
The only dancers making 300+ a night are those with 'high spending' regulars who come in mainly. The rest of us are struggling to make anywhere NEAR that! :(
Then again.. I only "work" 3 nights a week -- Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Sunday and Monday are traditionally the slowest nights of the week.

Brisbane is worse if not the same as Gold Coast. Rockhampton now (since April 1) has a 3 am lock-in besides the fact that my leaving early has made that place a no go for me now. Cairns is just as bad if not worse since it is even more of a Tourist Town than the Gold Coast .... it is smaller too! Townsville isn't worth even mentioning these days.
It isn't like there is absolutely no money... just that it is sloooow.

Who is the new dance manager at Hollywood you were talking about? Also S.Rhino have just had their big boss from America come over and all the girls had a bitch to him that too many new girls have been hired lately. Have you worked S.Rhino before?

There's rumours floating around my work that The Gold Coast is great right now. A couple of dancers have had messages from Players saying that there's tons of work and a few have heard that Hollywood is fantastic. Isn't it crazy how stuff like that gets around, lol?
Showgirls is still pretty bad - too many girls still - infact even more than there was a couple of weeks ago! I had 3 good nights which I put down to the moon being in Libra last week, lol. This week the biggest hope is that most of the girls cancel due to there being too many girls on the roster...

Who is the new dance manager at Hollywood you were talking about?
Susan, who used to be the main lap room controller, was promoted to Dancer Manager. She isn't a perfect creature however, imho, is a better choice than what H'wood originally hired.
Have you worked S.Rhino before?
No, it was one of the two clubs I was going to give a go in June or July for a week so I could give my own personal impression on it.
There's rumours floating around my work that The Gold Coast is great right now.
For some ... yes it is... the average is around $300 per night (that's the average ... there are always those who do better). The only problem is that it is slooow and so it may seem like 'hard work'. Players has definately changed its ways after my brief exposure to it via the Hustler Showgirl competition (just that their dance prices are slightly cheaper and the whole percentage thing is what I don't like).
Just that my focus is on the competitions so I personally am not doing crash hot. For instance, I only cracked the $300 mark (after fee) once during the whole month of April. My average (my monthly total divided by the no. of 'days' I worked) is $209 :'( Just not enough momentum at the club (obviously spending on drinks and dances - stage or otherwise) plus having two long weekends in a row isn't great.

Please note: my previous post above was done prior to me being informed that I was fired.
Well well... looks like I shall be travelling for work sooner than I planned. I'll either be heading up north (Cairns) or heading down South (Melboune) at this stage. Arriving Wednesday, working Thursday-Sunday thereby coming home Monday.
Having a couple of nights off and therefore allowing me plenty of time to organise lingere/topless waitressing work with the agencies here.
At this stage, I'm leaning more towards Melbourne and working at Goldfingers (familiar with the club) as it just has that better potential money-wise.
If I don't manage to organise enough lingere/topless waitressing work with the agencies... then I will "bite the bullet" to work at (argh!) Crazy Horse or (argh!) Hooters. Hooters is better decor however the money potential isn't as good as Crazy Horse... just that it is "crazy" over at Crazy Horse.
After this month, I'm really hoping that I would've established myself enough with the agencies so that when I approach them to start booking me for GString and Open Leg shows (as well as the waitressing)... they will... and I'll have a few (even if they are 'mini' titles) titles for them to use to promote me above some of the other 'showgirls' they have on the books.
My time dancing in the clubs on the Gold Coast have basically come to an end sooner than I had planned. If the clubs will have me, I will most likely "pop in" for work every so often.
I'm hoping the agency work will now be my main income source and the clubs my secondary "side" income here at home or even 'abroad'.

Hey V, I was sorry to see you go tonight...good luck with melbourne babe:)
The weekends at hollywood are really good.....there is still money to be made there.... i thought winter was supposed to be dead here...its been really good the past month or so...
I am planning on going to sydney in june for a week and was wondering what the clubs there are like right now?
also if anyone knows about topless/lingere waitressing work in sydney.. plz let me know..;D

I won't know now as I won't be going back for quite some time (if I do go back).... my main problem with the weekends at Hollywood is the "nightclub" crowd. The people that are specifically there to "party"... just take up space.. and how the place seems more nightclub than strip club. Regardless, not my worry now since I left (was fired).
The plan for for this fortnight is that I work at Spearmint Rhino Friday 'day' shift (start), Saturday, Sunday, Monday (nights) .. coming home Tuesday. Have the Hustler Miss Centerfold competition Wednesday. Hopefully some lingere/waitressing work so I can stay on the Gold Coast from Thursday 12th through until Saturday 21st.
I have to have the 18th "free" as it's the local Episode III premiere ... and I'm going to do some self-promotion there (in costume in re: my centrefold spread and just 'me').
I may or may not go down to Melboure for some quick work (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) that week ... or I might "bite the bullet" and work most of that week (except 18th) at a local club... or do the later half of that week (Thur-Sun) at Eletric Blue Girls (Sunshine Coast).
What I'm doing my Centrefold week greatly depends on whether or not I made it thru Heat 1 (the only heat I can enter as the next week when the second heat happens.. I'll be doing the Episode III premiere) as the venue final is Wednesday that week (25th).
After that.. I have no idea what I'm doing.. still playing by ear... will keep everyone updated. ;D

I'm @ Goldfingers ("Goldies") currently. Worked 6pm until 2am.... and left with under $300 after the $50 fee. :( Really really hoping that I do better Saturday. There is a story behind why I'm not working @ Rhino as I had hoped and planned originally. I'm tired as I'm using the 'net at my backpacker place whilst it is 'free' for a decent period of time (I'm only suppose to get a half hour "free" each day I'm here). All I have to say is next time I'm staying at Friendly Backpacker not the other one (Greenhouse)... damn walk! Saturday I'll be working a little later 7pm until 3am or something like that... I'm wearing my 'Hollywood' dress (as I call it due to it being the dress that was originally made for me to wear and wear it I did @ Hollywood).
Seems that Mt Isa isn't as bad as I made it out to be.... another dancer from G.Coast (who doesn't work the clubs there) told me that she's planning to go back a 3rd time. She always makes really good money there. I think the key is to keep your head down, work and shut up .... no matter what crap they (that club) throws at you (as such). My experience was horrible and has scarred me... I'm not going back at all. I will kill that "mistress bitch" (as I affectionately called her) if I do.
Well... $1750 to go to earn before I leave Tuesday.

How're you liking Melbourne GCG? Hope it's all going well for you!
I am wanting to put together a list af the different contact laws etc in each state. What's the go for Tassie, S.A. A.C.T. and W.A. are there clubs in the N.T. lol? I guess it would be handy to know about New Zealand too... Mermaid (-:
I'll start with N.S.W. - fully licenced clubs are strictly no contact at all. Clubs without a full licour licence are all to my knowledge legal brothals which also have feature strippers who may or may not let customers have some contact.
Queensland - touching is allowed from the waist up and knees down basically although legally it also includes the dancers sides but there are "distance" laws that mix in with club paranoia and fear of clubs loosing their licences so some clubs inforce the strict waist up knees down thing. No straddeling and the dancer must dance mostly 30cm away from the customer depending on wether she's full nude and what position shes in... Anyone else feel free to add to this, Queenslands complicated! (-:
mermaidnz
05-08-2005, 05:52 PM
ha yeah queensland is a bit complicated :) the cairns club, has no touching whatssoever. and brisbane and gold coast is like what you mentioned. i think its more local laws in qld that affect touching?
nz is a bit of a mixed bag too.
pretty much every club allows touching. some allow custys to do it for free. and others (liek mermaids) let the girls charge extra for touching-and what ever price the dancer wants to charge is fine by the club. touching is always, in every club i know of in auckland- above the waist only.but again, its can vary girl to girl. most clubs dont crack down on their dancers contact levels unless its actually between the legs, or mouth contact.
the rest of nz, is a mix i think. generally, free above the wait touching in almost every club in nz.

Queen Bee, Sydney is awful right now!!!! I'm talking girls making from $0 upwards and it's been that way for weeks now! My worst nights were $40 and in the last month I only had 3 nights of making over $400, most nights I left feeling lucky that I was taking home $90 - $150 for an 8 - 10 hour shift! For some reason there are hardly any customers and to make it worse there are just so many girls working there at the moment!

DANCERS INVITED UP NORTH!
The Club International in Cairns are still a few weeks away from their huge one nighter ( May 28 ) and they have asked me to invite any interested dancers to head up north to compete in the club. They have promised to assist with accommodation and are even offering work in he club for any dancers who would like to stay a few nights. If you are interested, please call 0417 634 894
Depending on how I go with the Exotic Angels Heat 1 @ Playmates Mansion (Broadbeach) this week.... will depend whether I give that number a call. :)
Otherwise, I'll post a little later about Melbourne. I ended up doing Fri-Sat @ Goldfingers, Sun-Mon @ Spearmint Rhino. After working at Rhino, I realised how wrong Hollywood is operating... how it is dooming itself (in a way). :O
Lucky for Hollywood, Rhino is opening in Brisbane not Gold Coast. Even tho' plenty of people are saying (rumours only) that they might open Gold Coast... they won't. I can assure you of that one. :)
Melbourne's a mixed bag of contact and no contact as well.

:( Due to being the first entrant, the audience was luke warm to me and this affected my overall score. Lesson learnt well -- strive to be the third, fourth or fifth entrant never the first or even the second. Otherwise, I saw the judges score cards and I mainly received alot of 8s and 9s from them in all the other sections they had to score me on: originality, performance, sex appeal and so forth. Only one judge scored me a 7 there. That's okay.. 'sex appeal' is subjective anyway.
I really wish I could re-enter the second heat of this competition ( http://www.misscenterfold.com ) however I have to be at the Episode III premiere (want to be in the newspaper and on TV). That is a prior 'engagement' ... one I've had since Episode II and will never forgive myself for missing.
Therefore I'm just going to strive to be girl 3, 4 or 5 at the Exotic Angels event tomorrow (Friday) night.
What bums me right now is that between now and Friday 20th... I havn't any work. I want to work.. I want to be productive.
As for Melbourne, I'm going back. Since I'm not eligible for the Hustler Miss Centerfold venue final on the 25th... that allows me to go down there earlier and work more. I like Rhino, I didn't hurt myself as much as I did at Goldfingers.
Goldfingers feels like hard work (and I hurt my back there) compared to Rhino.
Oh.. I just remembered... I may have lucked out with Queensland (Hustler Miss Centerfold)... there is always the Northern Territory! According to the information, it doesn't happen until late June... plenty of time for me to make $$ so I can travel there, enter the competition and leave. Then maybe come back, if I'm eligible, for the venue final there. It will also give me a chance to 'check out' Sinsations Gallery whilst there. ;D

I'm thru for the Exotic Angels venue final held next month (June 3) @ Playmates Mansion in Broadbeach. The thing is.. I'm not confident that the venue final will be even held there based upon my experience with the first heat (and the fact that the club hasn't paid its fee in full to host the event at this stage). >:( It was ridiculous... there were exactly two entrants for this heat... myself and one other dancer. We were already winners even before we begun.
In other news, I'm not really working on the Gold Coast anymore as far as clubs go... I don't really see myself going back as none of the clubs here "fit" me anymore. :( I'm a little bummed as I missed out on all the "navy" guys that were in town recently (they were based/port-ed in Brisbane however alot of them came down to the Coast to party)... and will be missing the International Boat Show money as well that comes into the clubs. *sigh* Oh well... :-\
I plan on going back to Melbourne (arrive) Sat 21 this month for 12 nights to work (@ Spearmint Rhino) 10 shifts in total ($2000 min. earnings total goal). I'll be back 'in town' (Gold Coast) June 2 with hopefully more agency work than I currently have (I havn't worked since I've been back yet).... ;)

Gday Aussie! I agree with Sydney totally. I was telling Truce how shit Syd was at the moment and its hard for most people to believe - an excellant night for me was taking home $200!! Is it normally bad this time of year? Ive been dancing less than a year so I dont know what its supposed to be like - does it get better after winter?/:O I got really lucky last weekend working at MG and took home $770 - the most Ive done in the last 3 months!!:O But on weeknights its completely dead at Dancers.
Goldie, I heard you had a great time at Spearmint, Truce has been telling me its an excellant club to dance in. I hope to head down to Melb after my exams - I wanted to go earlier this year but didnt get around to it...

I posted something about this a while back - one of the girls at my work was saying that they used to be able to do lap dances till about 5 years ago or whatever (useless to me as I wouldve been 14 at the time;D). Why did this change? She was saying her earnings dropped bigtime after the Rule was changed as the product offering became narrower (basically can only offer one product, the full nude show, though you can differentiate it a bit by the show itself).
It would be interesting to see average dancer earnings per state, wouldnt it, to see if there's a correlation between contact and earnings. See I'm learning something at Uni! ;D;D

Sorry to triple post...but I just noticed this. You were fired??? Why?? /:O
As for the nightclub thingy, that's about 90% of patrons at Dancers these days. Because its right beneath Hugos we get all the wannabes who couldnt get into Hugos come into the club and try and pick all the girls up. They act like its a nightclub and try and crack on to us - "Come up to Hugos with us", "come down to Soho with us", come over to the Bourbon with us", etc etc. And they wont actually sit at the podium but stand right behind someone else in a big bunch and get a free show. Then they want the girls to sit with them so that they look cool and so they can try to pick up. Or they offer the girls lines of coke, e, speed, etc. Its a joke!>:(

Here's the 'funny' (or not so funny, depends on your POV) thing about that 'nightclub' crowd I spoke about in re: Hollywood. I turned into one of those female patrons that I "hated" upon (I didn't really hate them, just found them annoying) on Friday night past. I went to Hollywood to hang out with the only other entrant of the Exotic Angels competition at Playmates Mansion (now that WAS a joke) .... At the same time, I experienced (as a female patron) the one major problem with Hollywood.... how you can't automatically TELL who are the strippers there.
Why? An older gentleman (definately over 50) started to approach us... and instantly I could tell he was approaching us due to thinking myself and this other girl were dancers there. (I was dressed in a nice evening type of dress however it wasn't stripper-ish as it had no slits or anything and the girl I was with wasn't really dressed "stripper" too) He was half way over to us before I pointed out one of the actual strippers/dancers at the club to him ..."Go to the stripper.. over there".
I'm sooo glad I was forced to leave that club as I was too content to be at a club that.. in hindight.. didn't really suit me even tho' I thought it did. As for being fired -- ( here (http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49333) ) is the thread in re: that event.
In re: Sydney being bad. It might be the club and/or it might be the time of year.... also is there anything that much happening in Sydney right now to draw the real money out, as such. For instance, Gold Coast and Brisbane experienced the navy recently as they were "port-ed" in Brisbane (most of them went to the Coast tho'). Now the Gold Coast has the International Boat Show and that brings some money to town as well.
It would be interesting to see average dancer earnings per state, wouldnt it, to see if there's a correlation between contact and earnings.
All I know is that I earnt more in Melbourne than I ever would do 'back home' (Gold Coast). The main difference is the touching and no touching. I also offer more contact with the touching (in a way) compared to no touching (as I'm unsure as to how much I can offer and what type so I'm playing it safe until I do know...).... so I would say that from my POV and experience.... I earn more in Melbourne (or have the possibility of earning more) with less touching (actually no touching) than I did on Gold Coast.
Also, it has everything to do with the price structure of each club. For instance, what a dancer earns per hour at Players is less than what a dancer at Hollywood would earn (based on the per hour rate). Then again... what I can possibly earn per hour in Melbourne at Rhino is even more again compared to any of the Gold Coast strip clubs .... $400 for a VIP hour at Rhino compared to Hollywood's $240 (whether that hour is in VIP area or not).
There are too many 'factors' involved to draw comparisons... it really is like apples and oranges.
I'm booked and I'm on my way to Melbourne. Leave 21st.. start working 22nd.. come back June 2.. ;D ;D ( See you soon Truce !! )

G'day Audrey! Your accent would go down really well in OZ. But I'd suggest you stay away from Sydney for serious work purposes and spend more time working in Melbourne, where all the big $$$ are. One girl I know who dances at Spearmint Rhino in Melbourne is clearing like $800-$1000 OZ a night (which I think is $US640-$800). Goldie or Aussie should be able to give you more details on exactly where to go. Then come to Sydney and enjoy the much better weather and scenery here. ;D

Goldie, I reckon Melbourne is the way to go for you. Heaps more clubs, a more stable scene, and more $$$. As long as you're willing to cope with the rain and shitty weather. ;D From what Trucie's been telling me about Spearmint and Melbourne, I've decided I'm going down for a couple of weeks at the end of this semester to check it out.
Would you consider relocating to Melbourne though? Bit of a lifestyle change for sure, but Melbourne's pretty cosmo...

Would you consider relocating to Melbourne though?
I've said this to my father and everyone else - hell no. Whilst the Gold Coast strip club scene is pretty much over for me here.. I do love living on the Gold Coast. There is a few problems I have with Melbourne as far as living there is concerned .. the weather being one of them.. the other big one is the fact that THERE IS NO DECENT BEACH near-by. I may not "go" to the beach that often.. I like having it there. It keeps me sane, helps me de-stress.. just the thought of it. ;) :)
I like the relaxed pace of the Gold Coast over the "hustle and bustle" of Melbourne.

aussiepunkshocker - your in singapore?!! dancing? or just on holiday? wicked!!
goldcoastgirl- maybe you liek the beach lifestyle, but if you cant work in surfers, maybe moving somewhere you hate ( omg like nz!) for 6 months out of the year of so, and just puttng up with it, so you actually make some decent money, isnt such a bad thing. it helps you feel better about hating where you live i swear,if it wernt for the money in auckland,id be outta here within a week.
and wiht the extra money you make from living in melburne, you can save for a week in hawaii or soemthing?! the gold coast is only a hundred bucks flight away.

Hi Audry, I was wondering if you were still thinking of visiting Aus. Sydney is terrible at the moment, so I don't recomend it currently. I dn't think it matters where you're from, heaps of dancers here are from overseas!
Mermaid - I was only in Singapore for a couple of hours, lol! I'm in London now. For a 3 month holiday but am going to have to work too if I stay that long. Tomorrow I go either to Brighton or Bournemouth and will check out the clubs there. I'm finally over the jet-lag I think (-:

Regarding to the Brighton club, I am not so sure if there's one exist.(or maybe not good money)
End of last

Good luck to you, if London is quiet you can always go to Scotland. ;)

G'day Audry
Unless you organise a tour and stay at one particular club for your time in Australia i would agree that Melbourne would be the best place for you to start. It all depends on how long you are thinking of coming over for. Usually most clubs that have features only book them for a week unless the Dancer has made a deal with a club and stays for longer. Are you organising the tour yourself or through your agent? If agent then get them to check out what would be best for you.
Im the DJ at the Crazy Horse in South Australia and we mostly have Canadian Features. They are booked for a month at a time and are exclusive to the club. We dont have many Americans mainly due to our agent being in Canadia but over the years a few have come through.
If you go to Melbourne check out Spearmint Rhino, Mens Gallery or Bar 20.

I don't hold it against Bar20 for wanting to expand and create a franchise of Bar20s across Australia..... however... I am concerned about their plans to have one on the Gold Coast.

Hi Honey
Ha - I found The Pussycats Club in brighton and it looked like someones house from the outside, complete with net curtains over the windows, lol! It was closed and a friend of a friend mentioned that she thourght the club may be in the basement... Maybe i will check it out when I go back to Brighton in a few weeks, I dunno... didnt like the vibe really, so will probably stick with my instinct. I couldnt find Top Totties despite hours of walking - I got close... I had a bodgey unhelpful map which didnt have the street names on the crucial road intersection so I gave up. I have a couple of auditions for London clubs in the next day or so. Well see what happens. Stripperweb being down has been a nusense, lol!!!

I'm back in Melbourne for 12 nights (working 10/11 of them) from the 11th until the 23rd. Starting to slowing gather more work with one of the agencies I'm with... showing them I'm reliable. I'm actually making decent tips at some of the topless/lingere waitressing bookings that I'm doing... got a few shows this month. All at the same place (Asmore Tavern for those who want to know) however not every week.
I'm also planning to give Electric Blue Girls up Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast) way a go for a week (stay 7 nights, work 5-6 nights type of thing) in the very near future. Will give Sinsations in Canberra a go for a week (stay 7 nights, work 5-6 nights type of thing).... otherwise... I'm mainly sticking with Rhino in Melbourne once a month.
Please do keep in contact Jo... you might want to start a thread "Around the UK" or something ;)

Hmm, wellI wasted yesterday alot due to the incident at the hostel the night before (guy pissing on my things). For some reson I thourght today was Saturday and it isnt so I'm about to ring some more clubs to get some auditions. There's also 1 where i can just turn upto audition which I plan on doing. Unfortunatly there arnt many reviews for London clubs here and the email addresses for some of the clubs don't work either which is frustrating because i dont want to spend money travelling outside of LOndon if theres no work,it costs too much. I figured Im better off here because there are the most clubs and my rent is dirt cheap currently. If i can get in touch with some clubs elsewhere I will gladly move on because Im over LOndon. This being England I'm finding the whole process slow and annoying. I auditioned at venus a couple of days ago and they had some problem with my lack of visa - I don't need a visa because I'm English, anyway I may still get in, the interview seemed to go well but i hate the waiting part and I see Venus has a shit review here too, lol. (So does Showgirls though and I like it there...) The rules are conservative, it's going to be restrictive as a dancer I think but creative too I guess...

Just had a longer look at the site - looks abit dodgy in places does anyone agree?

I've known about stripclubs.com.au for ages however if you notice... it is very out-dated esp. its reviews! Some of its reviews are YEARS old not months... not a website I recommend for strip clubs.
As for me, I'm enjoy-ing Melbourne for work. I'm not taking my cat, Bibs, or the sun for granted ever again thanks to my work trips. Each time it hasn't been terribly sunny. My work trip this month (June) wasn't as lucrative as last month - see my Yahoo Diary for why.
None-the-less, I'm now pretty much out of the loop in re: the Gold Coast strip club scene. My information isn't too out of date however I don't REALLY know how good/bad it is here.
All I know is I'm over the touching. I much prefer the no touching (I can touch the customer, customer cannot touch me). I'm better off psychologically.
I'm still v-interested in checking out Cairns (The Club International) again to update myself on that club (its a no touching club last time I was there), Santa Fe Gold in Townsville (just so I can know what the deal with that club is.. yes it is touching.. however I can put up with it for a brief time), Electrik Blue Girl in Maroochydore/Sunshine Coast (it's topless, no touching... curiousity once again.. want to find out what it is like for myself)... then Sinsations in Canberra... and back to The Palace in Adelaide (or even see if Crazy Horse will have me).
The only thing is I'm not going to do all this travelling just yet. I want to have my business set up as a company first so that I can really profit off travelling.
GoldCoastGirl
07-06-2005, 07:51 PM
Okay... the company thing is being set back a month or two however I'm still doing the travel thing for work...
Here's what's happening:
July - Melbourne... Spearmint Rhino and one other club.
August - 2 weeks in Kalgoorlie (see here (http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41104) for details)
September - Check out Sinsations (strip club) in Canberra, ACT then from there to Electric Blue Girls on the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore).
October - If Kalgoorlie works out, then I'll be doing two weeks there then Indy.
November - nothing confirmed yet.. tossing up whether to go back to Melbourne for the whole 12 nights.. or kinda do an East Coast tour (Cairns, Townsville, Maroochydore then home).
December - I want to be home for all the Christmas/Office parties in re: agency work.. so I may only travel away for work at the beginning of the month for a week.

Hi there Gold Coast Girl,
i am from melbourne and pretty new to these forums and think they are great!! the website is really helpful, so glad i found it.
Well i danced a few years ago very briefly, for around a month, i enjoyed it but stopped only because i got offered a pretty good paying full time job, so didnt need to work any more.
i worked at mens gallery, i liked it there, good conditions, got along with the girls well, dance manager was julie?? she was helpful. i also really liked it because the club had a classy atmosphere with pretty good customers in general. the only thing i hated was the fact we HAD to wear dresses, no budging on that.
Anyways, i was thinking of getting back into dancing and was trying to scope out some of the other clubs. i am fussy in the sense that i want to work somewhere where the no touching policy is generally followed and accepted. i know every clubs rule book probably says it, but what is considered acceptable in a club depends very much on the culture of it. i also defintiely do not want to work anywhere that extras take place, i dont want to have to compete with that, and dont really want customers to kind of expect it from me if it happens in the club in general.
So you seem to know your way around very well, i was hoping you could give me a run down on which clubs you could recommend for me, and which perhaps you recommend i shouldnt bother with?? i already know not to bother with Hot Spots, i live right near there and dont like the way that club was run at all.
i have seen a new place advertising in my local paper for dancers, its called Crystal's and is in Brunswick. its close to home for me so this place sounds like an option.
anyways, i really appreciate your time, and any of your expert input or advise would be sooo helpful.
thanks :)
P.S you look gorgeus in your picture!!

Crystal T's in Brunswick.... I'll be there on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th this month. Check it out for yourself as some dancers love it there, others feel they make more money at places like Mens Gallery (one of the King St clubs).
I personally just can't 'deal' with the Friday/Saturday night punters in Spearmint that's why I work Crystal T's.
As for Mens Gallery, it is still there. It has the reputation that it works you hard with alot of table dancing. Goldfingers... well... I did well enough there when I worked a couple of nights at the beginning of April this year.. however 'extras' do happen (supposedly). I didn't see anything 'extra' happening however it's going thru a 'dirty' phase right now (supposedly).
Showgirls Bar20... only the fantasy rooms downstairs have the bad repuation for touching or anything more happening so if you stick with selling normal lap dances in the main room you won't have any troubles. It's a popular club. The girls are treated rather well there.
Spearmint Rhino... well.. it has plenty enough dancers and doesn't really require any more. Great club - it knows what it is doing.
Basically, in the end, the no touching law (as the Kittens chain of clubs are supposedly touching clubs) is up-held by you.... don't rely on the club. This is what I've learnt now that I've danced in a few of the Melbourne clubs. Give the guys are warning or two .. then end the dance (walk out).
Oh yeah.. Dallas Dancers is located on King St and is generally the smallest of all the clubs. I have no idea about this place as, whilst it is located a couple of doors down from where I stay when I'm in Melbourne, I havn't really known anyone who used to work there. Give it try if you don't want to work for Mens Gallery or one of the 'bigger' Melbourne clubs.
Realise that the money is not that consistent at any of the clubs - you will have great nights.. sometimes be close to $1000.. other times you're lucky to make $100! In the end, it is up to you ... your attitude, your presentation and your sales ability no matter which club you dance within...;) ;D

Thanks heaps for all the info :)
i might check out Bar 20, and maybe Dallas Dancers. like you said i guess if i stick to basic lap dances it should be okay.
i might even pop into Crystals just for a drink (as i live pretty close by) just to have a look at the club, girls, atmosphere etc
thanks again for all your help, it really is appreciated
i will post up any experiences i have or if ive chosen a place :)

I just wanted to post this so that I can look back and remember this note to myself (in a way): Do not work in Melbourne in July!
I say this because there is a dramatic decrease in the no. of patrons frequenting the clubs this month compared to the last two months. I am NOT doing well this time around... I usually only work 9-10 nights.. this time I'm working nearly every night (except the Saturday night I arrived). (Okay, some of the blame lies with me however I do need patrons)
Depending on Kalgoorlie and the Sunshine Coast... I'm hoping they are better than Melbourne this month. Oh well.. I'm here, I'm making the most of it.

My Kalgoorlie trip has come and gone.
It is bar work - you are in a pub, behind the bar. You pour beer, serve customers, keep them entertained and drinking. You are the 'attraction' at the bar over the barmaid that works alongside you. BIG TIP: Bring a Waiters Friend and Ugg Boots (decent ugg boots, not boots that look like road kill) if you are going to be a Skimpy in Kalgoorlie.
Accommodation and, at least, two meals per day are included. First time girls who are doing Skimpy work will have to make their own way over (airfare). After this, the agency might be inclinded to pay for your airfare.
I stuck to the 'red eye' flights ... hence it didn't cost me too much to fly Brisbane to Perth (up to $300 each way).
You are paid per hour and therefore a wage.. hence you may not "see" the money you earnt "per hour" until near the end of the following/next week. You will be most likely surviving on your Titty Kitty tips. All the patrons know the deal, some are more generous than others.... therefore you can make anywhere from $20 to over $200 per 'shift' you work.
Some pubs have multiple skimpies working the bar. In these circumstances, you share/divide the Titty Kitty tips amongst the skimpies that are working with you therefore it is always desire-able to work alone or only with one other skimpy.
To get anywhere in the town, you will be using a taxi alot. The good news is that the fares range around $5-8 one way therefore if you can keep your trips minimal.... you won't be spending that much on travel.
The bus ride to and from Kalgoorlie is verrrrrrrry long ... around 6 hours. It is also very boring if you don't have magazines, a good book or SOMETHING to do in that time. Also, BYO your own food on the bus trips as the one stop that you do have... they serve crap food. You will most likely not get much rest on the bus trip to/from Kalgoorlie to Perth if you are not comfortable or used to sleeping on a bus which is travelling along very bumpy roads.
Kalgoorlie is also a drinking town therefore some Skimpies do fall into the trap of drinking all their hard earned cash away coz there really isn't much else to do in the town.... or as far as I was aware. The TV is crap as you are on the other side of the country now... kinda 'out bush'... so you might be stuck with just a few select channels and even then the reception may not be the best. Once again, a good book is handy.
(Even better if you have a laptop, you can play a game or three on it!)
If you are not comfortable being an employee, being a skimpy will not work for you. This is the big downside for me: I wasn't in total control of how long I would work each shift (I had to wait until someone told me I could go), I definately couldn't "slack off" at any time therefore wasn't in control of how little or much I would work, you can't "run away" from the bar patrons/customers even if they are an annoying drunk or pissing you off (you are stuck behind the bar most skimpies aren't allowed without permission to roam outside the bar), I wasn't in total control with the tips I definately was at the "mercy" (as such) of how generous (or not) the patrons of that particular bar were being that shift.
All in all, I much perfer to be a stripper - in a club or doing shows. I will go back as there is still v.good potential to earn good money in Kalgoorlie (esp. since I do shows and the agency that I do the shows thru pays really well).
So far Melbourne and Kalgoorlie are on my list of places I will regularly work. I am still looking for two more places and am hoping my experience up in the Sunshine Coast next month will go well. I'll only be working there for a week.
