To add to this, the one girl I'm semi-friends with at my club and I were chatting. she notices absolutely NO difference between tipping well and not tipping with our DJ - she even thought he gets a little meaner if you haven't had a good night and give less than usual. I've noticed NO difference in income when he's DJing or his replacement is, and he purposefully tells girls to inform our manager that we make better money when he DJs. He has refused to play what I like even when customers request it. I went and did a bachelor party, and later on he's like "you should be able to tip me well tonight since you did a bachelor party." GRR! That really ticked me off, I was a last minute replacement for another girl, his music selection had no bearing on me going, nor on how much I made while there as another girl chose the music and brought her own boombox! He didn't stay long enough to collect his tip from me, as I left after him... makes me want to, oh, not tip him. Now I know how the customers feel about the girls who ask for tips!
Geez, I'm seriously considering switching clubs again, at the other one at least I basically choose my own music or my DJ will work with me for choosing, and only ever askes for $5 - and I'll happily tip him more, just because it is less annoyance. blah.

There is not a strip club DJ on this planet, I don't care HOW good he is, who deserves 10% of the money we sweat for. Period! Damn right the DJ should get paid well for his time, but 10% is SIMPLY TOO MUCH.

Let me put it this way: A 10% to the DJ rule is like distance rules in Houston (or most other places for that matter)! NO ONE ENFORCES IT AND NO ONE FOLLOWS IT. You customers saying we need to follow this should also just shut up and follow the rule when it says NO CONTACT. Now we all know that's not going to happen, likewise, neither is the 10% to the DJ.

Anyway, I like the "set fees" as well. In my clubs, its a $20 minimum, but I never tip that. I love the djs at one club especially and always tip $40 regardless of how I do. if I do very well, I tip $50. But thats just me.
