And by the way Darkness, don't let hot men intimidate you!! You are super cute, I am sure they find you gorgeous!
lol... oh to remember the days of good ol' Darkness...
Smelly is bad, but I find the very, very large more physically difficult than anything. When there is no lap to give a lapdance, I have problems...:(

You just discribed more then 3/4's of the guys in here, and probably your biggest spenders over the long haul. [Example; One guy in sweets with small pokey boner who fancies your dancing, lists you as ATF in his book, and comes back over the course of 6 months 20 times at 100 dollars a time as opposed to big spender who comes in once, not sweet pants but still small pokey boner, and spends $1000]
BTW, what about guys in thin sweats who huge pokey boners sticking straight up? }:D
Thorn- I'm not sure where you do your strip-clubbing, but where I dance---Detroit, which happens to be pretty low on the totem pole of nice places to be a stripper--- even here very, very few guys come in the club wearing sweatpants. To say that type of man is 3/4 of the customer base is grossly inaccurate. I have only ran into a few guys like that in my two years of dancing at probably a dozen clubs, and ewwww......
Also, from my few experiences with the sweatpants variety, they are the cheapest bastards around. Not only do they want the least possible amount of fabric between me and their little penis, but they want it to happen at bargain prices, and usually want me to do more than dance. Needless to say, this is why I rarely intersect with these types at work.
And the huge pokey boners are even worse, LOL. It makes it more difficult to ignore the fact that their penis exists....
BTW, I vote for the smelly ones as well.....I have to go back and baby wipe after that....ugh

Well duh, Thorn.
Obviously most men in strip clubs will base their decision to pay for a dance on their perception of a dancer's sexual attractiveness.
All I meant by that comment was that I would rather not have to physically feel the customer's erection underneath me while I am dancing. I am fine with a customer's penis finding me appealing, ...but grinding on it can sort of gross me out at times.
This is solved by finding customers whose primary objective in going to strip clubs is not splooging in their pants. I would much rather deal with the guys, and girls, that come to have a good time and aren't worried about whether I will perform extras or go out with them. These customers are harder to find, but god bless them.

I'd say customers who repeatedly try to touch me in a no-contact club and I have to tell them no the bouncers watch and I'm going to get in trouble. Or customers who offer me money to see them in a hotel. Or customers who don't want to pay after the dance -that's only happened a couple times though. Other than that I'm happy to give dances.

Thorn,
I think that's a silly argument to make--the easy answer (without putting words in Jayln's mouth) would be, "Because of the money."
Most strippers would rather make the money they make doing something other than dancing in the laps of unknown men. Most garbage collectors would rather make the money they make sitting at a desk job, and most longshoremen and miners would rather make the money they make at a job with a lower risk of serious injury or death.
But people in these professions are drawn to them by the money. That doesn't mean they find the unpleasant parts of their job (erections, garbage smell, cramped and hot tunnels, etc.) enjoyable, or that they shouldn't seek to minimize their exposure to those things to the extent they can. I'm sure you wouldn't call it "ironic" that a garbageman tried to avoid spilling your garbage on himself as he emptied your trash bin into his truck.

The ONLY women who ought to find work in a strip-club where lap dancing is done are those who find an erect male penis a compliment to their abiltiy to perform their jobs well.
That's a big sweeping generalization. If you are going to monitor and dissect every word we use, then allow me to do the same:
While I agree with you that an erection shouldn't gross out a stripper, its not per say a compliment either. Even the dancers that have told you that have said it for sales reasons. Rather, it comes with the territory. While I am not bothered by boners, I could care less if they happen or not.
I had a guy last week who is on steroids and can't get it up, even with his girlfriend. He informed me of this, and the laps were very laid back since he didn't expect grinding. By the end, he actually had a pudgie, which was pretty cool(NOT a compliment), but irrelevant to my goals or to his.
I still enjoy being incensed by your posts too much to ignore you quite yet;)

This is true; boners are irrelevant to our opinion of a customer. However, they might impact his opinion of our dances and therefore his desire to continue to purchase them.

Thorn,
The post I responded to had 2 questions in it, directed to Jayln:
1. "IF that is the case, why would you do it?"
2. "Why...wouldn't you work in a club that has only 'air dancing' or no dancing other then [sic] stage work?"
I tried to answer those questions for you. If you don't want to discuss WHY dancers dance, don't ask the questions.
I don't disagree with your point that pulling against your own nature (e.g. being a dancer when you're disgusted by men's little boners sticking out under their pants) can be damaging emotionally/mentally/etc. Stripping is a tough job for many or even most dancers. But they do the work for the same reason some of the other workers I listed do their work--for the money. Some don't do it for long because they get burned out/sickened/whatever. It's a high turnover business.

I certainly agree.

That said my point was: That a dancer who works in an establishment where dancing takes place whose major intent is to cause a sexual reaction in another, and then reacts poorly to evidence of that reaction, is probably not being true to themselves regarding the nature of their true feelings about what they are doing.
The ONLY women who ought to find work in a strip-club where lap dancing is done are those who find an erect male penis a compliment to their abiltiy to perform their jobs well. For those who find it offensive or "ikky" to do so are simply placing themselves in a position where they will gross themselves out and/or embarass, frustrate and offend themselves and their clients. Because if you don't think your body language is giving you away you are probably wrong about that.
Why, Jayln, if that is the way you truly feel about things, wouldn't you work in a club that either has only 'air dancing' or no dancing other then stage work?
I'm not trying to be uncivil in asking that question. I am merely trying to suggest a common sense equation. [I don't like erect male penises in the work place = I don't take a job where my express purpose is to evoke sexual arousal in men, thus causing the erections I disdain in the first place]
This is circular logic and borders a self-delusion. There is a truism at work here that you are totally glossing over...To choose to be a lap dancer and yet skeeve the physical reaction that comes about from doing it well is more then a bit ironic.
And its not aimed at Jayln. She is simply the latest dancer here I have seen state this and I finally felt compelled to speak to the strangeness, and apparent inequity/duplicity [that being the deliberate attempt to arouse a man to get into his wallet and then, basically, calling him a pig for becoming aroused] screaming outward from the situation.
What Jayln said was that "I would rather not have to physically feel the customer's erection underneath me while I am dancing. I am fine with a customer's penis finding me appealing, ...but grinding on it can sort of gross me out at times. This is solved by finding customers whose primary objective in going to strip clubs is not splooging in their pants...These customers are harder to find, but god bless them."
She specifically stated that she does not mind the customer getting an erection, but doesn't relish grinding directly on it, and it can gross her out at times--probably when the sleazy douchebag is tacky enough to wear sweatpants...
That's what elicited a reaction from her in the first place.
It is entirely unnecessary for every lapdancer to always positively focus her attention on every customer's erection, or run the risk of irrepairable psychological damage.
The bottom line is that they just don't care about it--and if you wear sweatpants they're going to think you are a pervert, and that feeling your dick is gross. There ain't a goddamned thing wrong with that...
This is not an existentialist dilemma, it's fucking lapdancing. After the 3,000th dick, they might get over the need to gleefully open their senses to the thrill of feeling another one in the guy's lap.

I voted smelly, but you all are right, we need a category for grabby. I had this guy try to bite my nipple yesterday! For real. That after I sat on his lap for like twenty minutes cause he kept saying he'd buy a dance. I didn't know whether to puke on him or slap him. But I guess it goes with the territory.

The grabby and touchy guys are the worst. And yes I dont like to dance for guys with hygiene issues but they still pay so take the money, do your dance and then go shower.
I think if you go to work and you look for who not to dance for youll never make the money you want or need to. I dont care who it is, what they look like, what socio-economic class theyre from or what they do for a living, Ill dance for them and treat them like theyre a vip.
It's the difference between going home with 100 bucks or 1000 bucks. It's the difference between being a professional entertainer who is always in demand and being a primadona who is seen as a girl who is unpleasant to talk to or dance with because they judge you.

In relation to the argument above between Thorn and Jaylyn:
Just because Jaylyn doesn't like to feel men's penises doesn't mean that she dislikes her job entirely. Just that aspect of her job. It doesn't mean that it is scarring her either. She just doesn't really like it.
Im not a stripper and there are aspects of my job I don't like either.
To be honest, I think you may be hardpressed to find a girl who DOES like it.
