Man.. all this talk about BAs and how cheap they are and everything in re: Thailand (since I'm in the same exact town as mermaidnz)..... it is making me think about them.
I said THINK about them. I still would rather use $5000 for other things ;D However when it comes time for me to get them done (I probably will eventually.. PROBABLY).. at least I know where to go now. ;D

That's so great!! And, you won't be by yourself!! You'll have TWO new girlies with you!! LOL It's a great birthday present for yourself...so enjoy the scenery while you're there (just don't over-exert again)!
Why aren't the high profiles allowed in Thailand?

I'm with Venus. This is a totally kewl birthday present for yourself... yes, you won't be doing much for your birthday but you'll at least not be here (Gold Coast) and you'll have two new :boobies: ;D Which is what you wanted.
BTW... did you catch an "article" on TodayTonight the other night about cosmetic surgery botch-ups. I had to smirk when this chick came on and reported about how her new boobs from Thailand burst on the trip back. I was curious to know who she used but, of course, they wouldn't mention it and just said "Stay away from Thailand". Obviously they have not visited this thread and seen the information posted about your particular clinic/surgeon.

Hi,
I think you'd be crazy to get it done in Thailand! Main reason is that if something goes wrong again, you have not only distance, but the language barrier to get through in order to get your records and surgery details etc. Aside from that you can't guarentee that they have the same standards of hygene in Thailand as they do here. I know Thai hospitals have been made to look wonderful lately, but I still have my doubts, and I know people who've had terrible experiencies there. Blood born disease aint fun! Consider the fact that many travellers choose to go home to their country of origin when they get sick rather than chance treatment in a 3rd world country - theres good reason for that!!!
If your original implant is Saline, do you know that their life expectancy averages at 5 years? Just mentioning that because if it is saline you may want to get a new implant to avoid repeat surgeries sooner than nessesary. Some now say the same about Silicone implants too. Perhaps the removed implant is faulty or the surgeon thinks its wearing out? if you know the make and brand, you could search to see if it's one that has caused problems for other women. If you choose Thailand, you might also want to check as to what type of implants they're using over there. I've been told by someone I consider to be a reliable source, that they sometimes use implants that are considered unsafe by the rest of the world. I don't have documentation to back that up, but I do do a fair amount of research into implant problems and belive that it's a strong possibility. If you find out the type, you can then search for information.
You didn't mention what problems you had, but alot of women have problems, so if you haven't looked it up do! There are alot of sites out there that have useful and good info.
You probably should find out exactly why the surgeon took out 1 implant because it might be very relevant to what you have done in future.
I'm with you when it comes to Drs btw!
Good luck with whatever you decide anyway, and sorry if this sounds preachy!!! (-:

hey guys! :)
I fly out tomorrow!!!
yeah, aussie vee, that doco i think, was the one my stupid aus surgeon mentioned to me that had wanted me to do...lol i seen it, thought it was kinda funny how she blamed her doc, personally id blame the implant in her case, its hardley her docs fault if an implant bursts. meh lol
anyways, i;ll fill you all in next month when i get back.... and my laptop is still busted, so its been a while since i came on here... :(
