people call ME a dirty dancer for letting a guy touch my boob or because i talk dirty well if your going to call ME a dirty dancer for doing things that YOU don't do, than I 'm going to call YOU a dirty dancer for things that I don't do! got it?It's so funny to me that when a dancer, such as myself, posts things on here that to you is morally wrong your quick to accuse that I'm a man. just because I go against the grain doesn't make me a man. convincing to let every tom dick and harry to touch, look you all have your standards they will never change, I'm just saying to open your eyes, we will not be young and hot forever, will you be the one looking back at 45 getting older and unable to dance and wishing you took my advice? most likely. I make 800$ to 1300$ every night i work! I am well on my way to being a millionaire, why? because I've been there and learned from the best now my observation has paid off! if your going to be a prude and follow every rule by the book than sadly my friend you will be the one who will still be shakin' it at 45 probably at one of the clubs that i will own!

Darkness- how long have you been in the biz ?

What part of the country do you work in ? If your comfortable with saying I am also curious what club.

You may ask why I would like to know this information- the reason is to better understand your position.

Awww darkness makes 800 to 1300 a night, do you want a cookie or a little pat on the head? Somehow I highly doubt you our posting this becuase you want us all to make money and are concerned about us. Mabey you should be happy that you are one of the only ones who let guys grope you becuse if every girl started to do it you would have a bitch of a time trying to compete with everyone. By the way join an escort service you would make way more than 800-1300 a night.

SMART dancers never post their earnings. And if they do, they dont say they "ALWAYS" make that. :rotfl:

Well, personally I couldn't care less if darkness thinks she knows it all. But darkness, you must realize that your way isn't the only way that works. Each individual dancer has their own limits, based on their morals and experiences. The important thing is tolerance and being non-judgemental. We all take off our clothes for a living, we need to stick together. By judging and breaking the rules, you are separating yourself. I try to be a professional, which imo, includes following the rules. Chances are the other women at your club don't like you for breaking the rules. I'm sure you don't care. As far as the types you have so neatly placed us into, I try to see everyone as an individual. Every dancer I know has different limits.

I know many dancers who make $1000+ a night without ever being touched. Your way would not work in the clubs they work at. You need to open your mind, and realize that everyone is not in the same boat as you.

Ditto on the idividualism. In lotsa years in lotsa clubs in lotsa booths every girl has a different reason for being in the biz though ostensibly it might seem the same. And along the same lines, for every personality and body type, there is a guy for her , ready willing and able to pay to be entertained by that person, regardless of how i feel about her ability to attract customers personally.

You aren't the only one he does this to. I'm placing money that this is actually Dreamer or Creamo.

Lilac, that PM is a badge of honor and should be saved for posterity. Everyone knows that you haven't scored a real hit until you get the rabid, foaming at the mouth PM. Congratulations! He probably is still sulking.

I don't hate being a dancer. I just hate the slow times and when the club is full of guys with no money who are just sitting there slobbering.

I agree with Darkness's later point that there are girls that dislike taking their clothes off for money. It would be annoying to work with them. However, the girls who complain about "Mr. and Mrs. Cheapass" or "Mr. Violating Orfices" or similar, I commiserate with plenty. So, yeah, it depends.
And I hate the nights we have no customers and I make $30, less than minimum wage from another job. But, ya know, I get over them.

I do find it amusing that I dance nude and guys can't touch my boobs - yet I'm the immoral stripper. Luckily my coworkers don't want to kill me over it.

A dancer who makes top dollar would never feel the need to throw the numbers out there. A dancer who makes amazing money is confident enough with herself and that money not to feel like she has to seek out validation from complete strangers by bragging that $800-$1300 is being made nightly. Credibility annhialated. :flamed:
As for working in strip clubs till old age, most of us here (who have brains) will have moved on to new and exciting ventures in life that will be profitable in many ways. However, bet I can make a pretty accurate prediction of who will be up on that stage every night, 45 years old, still being groped and licked, dry-humped and finger-speared by every Tom, Dick and Harry and still proclaiming in a husky voice, "I'm thsooooooo thsexual and mysterious!!" Then running backstage in between songs to tuck it.

yeah, i dont know but i usually do consistent at least and i dont think i have ever had to be strong and repress the urge to post my nightly earnings in statistical form on the message board....bragging about some things is ok i guess but bragging about $$$$??? kind of odd i guess.

On the bigger, original topic- yah, people always bitch and moan about their jobs. It's what defines a good job as one that poses challenges, discontent and other such things that makes them worthwhile and interesting. Venting is usually a method of releasing this, and usually leads to a better outlook on things, eventually towards humor/sarcasm. It exists in all forms of work.

On darkness- I would have perceived darkness as a man as well, but not so much from portrayals of attitude (I do know some dancers with a relatively similar outlook overall), but from the method of communicating said outlook. So while I know there are some similarities with various dancers in the field, they would never in a million years hop up on a podium and shout them out so tactlessly.

In general, there is much to be said for subtlety as well as not having to go into the deepest details for those things usually left unsaid. This kind of habit is usually very symptomatic of someone trying to be something they truly are NOT, so in this case a non-dancer (or male) pretending to be a dancer (or female).

And lastly, I'd totally believe that in even the worst economical regions could one average $800-$1300/night.. of course, this would be the kind of club that hands out spraypaint cans in the dressing room as job description trainers (clack-clack-clack-clack-clack!).

when you assume you make an ass out of you and well...just you. haven't you ever had a dancer with different views, yes i do shout out on a podium what my opinions are. does it shock you that someone on here goes against the grain? o and the money issue...believe it!

when you assume you make an ass out of you and well...just you.
Which you have now proven by assuming I stated that I believed you to be a man, or questioned the average nightly income. (neither of which were actually portrayed)..

<<"well I should have figured that since some of you were giving me crap about what i make, i hit a nerve somewhere, sorry. ">>

Hit a nerve by stating what you make?? Huh?? Why? Again, you are far far farrrrrrr from the only "dancer" who makes good money here. Perhaps you are the only one who passes being groped, slobbered on, and speared as being "mysterious," though. And you wonder why people here laugh at you?? Look at the things you say, dude.

I'm still patiently waiting to find out where you work Darkness so I may come and visit to see a performance....

Its slow all over the country right now... I've talked to girls all over the place who are having bad nights, and managers who have all reported slumps due to the economy and the war...

Maybe the reason some of us dance, is because we have money problems and we can't find another job that will cover the bills. And some of these money problems are often not our faults, such as huge medical bills in collections, or raising children alone without the father helping, hurricane/devastation to property, someone racking up big bills in our name and not paying them, etc. For example, at the time that I first started dancing, I'd spent months jobsearching yet the only job that hired me was a part-time restaurant hostess gig that paid me $5.15/hr. I was a college student with good grades and a rigorous major within one semester of graduating, taking time off due to money issues, yet no one would hire me for more than min wage. I don't hate all aspects of the job, but here's the things I hate:

1. hiding/lying to my family about it, as well as ALL of my high school friends; they have major moral issues with it
2. dancing does not allow me to use my college degree that I put so much money & effort into obtaining
3. yes I love when guys compliment me, but I hate when guys insult me, belittle me, imply that I'm stupid, etc.
4. when it is dead, it drastically decreases my chance to make money, and if I'm not able to get tips/dances, I'm either working for free that night or I'm dipping into my savings just to make tip-out
5. girls that do sexual "extras" or interrupt me with a customer, take potential money away from me. It is frustrating that I follow the rules(no drugs, no extras, I am too polite to interrupt other girls) and as a result, I get stepped on and this "being a good person" results in #4, not making any money.

I do like some aspects of dancing, but the 5 bad things that I mentioned are the reasons I can really hate dancing sometimes. If I could get a corporate job making $50,000/yr, I would take it and I'd probably still dance 2-3nights/week just for extra money and savings. If I could get a corporate job making $50,000/yr but was forced to stop dancing, I would do it in a heartbeat if it meant gaining invaluable degree-related, corporate work experience that I wouldn't have to hide from my family.
