"You're absolutely right! Are you free to go burka shopping with me tomorrow?"
"Yah, yah.. Oh, and by the way- your husband DOES do windows.. just not yours."
"Maybe if you hit the gym, men wouldn't be so anxious to pay to see my body."
"The time you just spent flapping your gums, I would have just earned $20. Should I put it on your tab?"
"My ass pays the bills. What does yours do? Oh wait, nevermind."
"I hear ya. And nothing is more degrading than my new Acura, Gucci purse and Pradas!"
"All men have seen tits before. The only difference is, mine are worth paying for!"
etc.etc.etc.
Life sometimes gives you good opportunities. Always use them. :)
And don't let these morons get to you one bit, sent_from_heaven. Once you realize this all stems from "women are to remain chaste virgins until marriage" conditioning from MEN, it all becomes pretty clear who is being foolish.
hey polecat, i fucking, fucking love you!!!

i know i'll get slammed for this, but i think stripping is degrading in some ways. yeah, the money, flex hours, etc may make up for it.. but you dont think its degrading on the nights that you go in to work, get naked and parade around only to come home with less than you started with?
i'm not saying it's ok for anyone who hasnt done the job to call it degrading. i think it depends on the reasons why they think so. but i do think that it is degrading.

I see what you are saying Britt. A bad night doing this is like the worst night ever, and it DEFINITELY feels degrading on the bad nights.
When I worked in LA (of course the words "LA" and "degrading" go together), I felt disgusting about myself, because I would be showing my shit to the world, putting up with ASSHOLE customers, and maybe leaving with $100-200. I did it with my friend, and we used to dread going into work, sometimes we would put it off so much we would actually miss going in for a week. We used to sit in my apartment the mornings after work and literally cry together. THAT was degrading.

Holy old threads! LOL
If a custy says some shit like this, I like to cock my head and say all innocently, "do you feel degraded to pay for attention from women? Because I don't find it degrading at ALL!"

The most satisfying degradation of stripping is that my sister hates my guts because I'll make more parading my naked ass around a bar than she'll make with her university degree.
Delicious. ;)

It's all perspective. Some people will find it degrading, some find it within their comfort zone. So it CAN be degrading, but is not inherently or necessarily so because not everyone has the same morals/limits/comfort zone.
It's really a puritan sexual thing people are clinging to on this one.
I don't find talking about increased income as the best defense, because in my experience, the prudish twits come back with "My dignity doesn't have a price!" or "I'm so sorry that your pride can be bought" and so forth.

"You assume I feel degraded. Is it because you are not comfortable with what I do with my own body, or is it because you are not comfortable with your own sef?
Either way you are not comfortable, How degrading it must feel to be forced to deal with something you are not comfortable with. I'm so sorry for you."

It's more degrading to be a sheep that thinks what it's told to think then to go against the grain suffer the scrunity of said sheep.

"Ahhh, so THAT'S why you're here."
"What's DEGRADING is the look the car salesman gave me this morning when I bought my BMW in cash."
"Well here's the inside scoop, Mr. Belvedere. (lean in close) you're not here because your satisfied at home."
