I used to dance with a girl and that was her REAL name. Mom was a hippy I guess. But guys never believed her if she told them it was her real name.

What is up with everyone hating the name Hazel?

It is a nice name of English origins. I've seen lots of complaining about it but to me it seems like an completely innocuous name. For those who are confused about what it means, see below.

ha•zel /ˈheɪzəl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hey-zuhl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. any shrub or small tree belonging to the genus Corylus, of the birch family, having toothed, ovate leaves and bearing edible nuts, as C. avellana, of Europe, or C. americana and C. cornuta, of the Western Hemisphere.
2. any of several other shrubs or trees, as an Australian shrub, Pomaderris apetala.
3. the wood of any of these trees.
4. the hazelnut or filbert.
5. light golden brown, as the color of a hazelnut.
–adjective 6. of or pertaining to the hazel.
7. made of the wood of the hazel.
8. having a light golden-brown color.

And the other thing: I chose the stage name Bambi because it was the silliest stage name I could think of; Dancing, while clearly a job, is supposed to be FUN too. I know it is work, I treat it as such, but why shouldn't we have some fun at work? A stage name is part of the experience and why shouldn't that experience be a little ridiculous sometimes? If that includes an odd or stereotypical name, more power to the girl.

Alright, now that I'm off my soapbox, I will contribute one name that even I, lover of all stage names, had to laugh at.

Bang69.

I still get a good eye rolling laugh out of that one.

^A name with NUMBERS? That's weird. I feel like listing all the girls I can remember working with and dissecting the retardedness of their names...

Hahaha.. There were 2 waitresses at my old club, sisters, whose names were Clover and Meadow. Their parents must have been hardcore hippies too. :P

oh, i've also worked with a Sephora. that one always made me laugh because i carried a tube of sephora brand lipstick in my box for touch-ups, not to mention that i worked there during the holiday season a few years ago.

i once came up to the dj, took out my lipstick and said, "hey! look who's in my box!". he just slapped his forehead and moaned.

I used to work with a girl who's real name was Snow. She was born in the 80's though so parents werent much older then me. 60's wanna be's maybe? I know I went to high school and college with a few wanna be hippies's even though it was the 90's

I even went to college (in the early 90's) with a chick who quit school to follow the Grateful Dead.

Anyway..not to threadjack...but the hippie culture apparently lives on!

No no no! No hating, just confusion! The name as it stands on its own, some may find appealing. However, for the "over 50 crowd", and those of us approaching, We think of a comedy series from the early 60's, involving a kindly, older lady, who was a maid. The show, and her name: Hazel.
I wish the maid on the show was as hot as the Hazel I know...It would still be on TV...
I just thought of another one! The mayor of Mississauga, Ontario Canada: Hazel Macallion (with spelling apologies if necessary)...I think she's about 105 years old as well...

When I picked my name I used just an average everyday girls name. (she was actually a girl i had a crush on in highschool) Because its a real name its easy to remember and I don't get the 'what's your real name?' all the time.

Last night at work my friend was telling me she used to dance with a chick named Dora. I immediately flashed to that Nickelodeon kids' show. Not that it's a bad name, it just comes with an automatic afterthought. ;D

^Isn't that like viagra? If she means it like she gets the guys 'up', I guess it's sort of clever. But it's not sexy. Maybe she should try using the name Nicorette or Valtrex. lol

I should have put more emphasis on the "all the time" I still get it but it seems I suffer with it less than other girls with more 'stripperish' names. :D

I considered having Hazel, because I loved Watership Down. I also considered Hyzenthlay, but figured it wouldn't work out.

I'd rather hear a bunch of wierd names than regular everyday names...adds to the fun.

Just please stop with the area code names ladies! Ridiculous. I know you have love for your hometown, I know I do being from one of the best cities on earth-but a name consisting of numbers??

Klimax with a K? Your area code?

Strippers are ridiculous.

I love them. I was a stripper for years (almost 10) and now work in corporate america. I love my new job but I miss the other girls a lot.

I hate stage names related to pot. SOme of the ones I've heard are
"Sinsemilla"
"Sativa"
"Mary Jane" (this is actually a cute name but every girl I have known to use it
used it for the purposes of it being a stoner stage name)

Zinaida
02-24-2008, 04:44 PM
I kinda like Sativa lol. Is the "i" in it short?

I've worked with an Elegance. She got fired once for handjobs and blowjobs. Real elegant lol. I wouldn't like that name for anyone though.
