I did the blue peel Sap. It was okay. Pain was mild. I looked kinda funny. After it peeled off it was tender and felt like a moderate sun burn.

did you do the system first or just the peel? What was your skin like after it "healed" Would you recommend it to anybody or have you found anything better? :D

I too did the obagi peel and it was moderate in results did nothing to help acne its a quick cosmetic fix that does nothing to solve skin problems, short of a brief renewal period.

It burned like hell I might add and I would never do it again.

The supporting skin system u do b4 and after was priced way out of control - WAY too much money for constantly red peeling face and flaky dead skin that was magnified by make up.

I hated it.

I successfully got rid of my acne with a combination of things, I now wash my face with natural products and use Kiss my face peaches and cream alpha hydroxy moisturizer, that stuff is amazing. But on top of that, because I went through a major acne breakout period...
The pill helped a lot for me, and the doc also gave me some topical medication, called Dalacin-T, the active ingredient in it is...clindamycin. Although this doesn't necissarily "cure" your acne, my doctor explained that it kills the bacteria/organisms that inflame your skin and make it look red in the acne. You dab it on twice a day of affected areas, and it worked wonders for me in combination with everything else I was doing, i'd dab it on and half an hour later my acne looked significantly reduced.

I've heard the pill works for acne...I was on a million different types of pill from 15 to 23 (for cramps, birth control...acne was a very secondary thought in terms of choosing one, I just wanted low estrogen because of the risk of breast cancer), with no positive effect on acne.

I went off the pill almost a year ago because I was sick of using hormones, and that's when my acne started really decreasing! Go figure.

i packaged up my proactiv and im sending it back.. it didn't do anything for me but make my skin worse.

now i'm doing this regimen i found on www.acne.org and i ordered the benzoyl peroxide gel offered there, its a good value for the size/price. i only just got it recently but my skin feels a lot less dry and I seem to be getting better already.

Okay wanted to update every one since I went to the dermatologist again for acne. This time I asked about Tazorac (sp?) and what I was told is that it is mainly for those that suffer from mild to moderate acne vulgas (spelling?). Since I've had severe acne since I was 12 it was not recommend for me so, Im going on a new cycle of accutane but instead of the 40mg I'm going for 80mg a day hopefully I won't dry out and blow away in the wind.

I had terrible skin for the longest time. Face, neck, chest, back.
First, what helped the body acne was getting on a low dose of hormonal birth control. (that's not the only reason I did it, but it was a perk, lol)
What helped my face was the "oil cleansing method". Google it and the very first result is the one you're looking for. It sounds crazy, but omg it is AMAZING. I've never had nicer skin. Whatever that didn't help (which wasn't very much) I just learned to cover with makeup application.

I had bad acne as a teenager and while it got significantly better as I grew older, it never completely went away. Needless to say, I have tried EVERYTHING! I just tried a new method and its working better than anything i've ever done. My skin is not only pimple free but its glow-y and so soft.

Buy:
skin/hair/nails vitamins
Vitamin E pills
multi vitamin
Exfoliant scrub
whatever face wash works well for you
Toner
Oil free lotion

Use these all religiously and your skin will amaze you!

I used the AcneFree system and it cleared up my skin almost completely ... I've used prescriptions and everything. It's a cheaper/better version of ProActiv. You can find it at most Walgreens. It has Benzoyl Peroxide in it, which I don't think is good to use over time so you have to kind of wean yourself off it.

this is going to sound like bullshit..but i just changed my habits. harsh creams, chemicals, rough exfoliation, and no moisturizing will make it much worse!! simple natural cleanser ( also oil cleansing with half castor oil/ half olive), and moisturizing with burt's bees night cream. tea trea oil in small amounts is great too.
not touching my face, cleaning my phone, pillow cases, keeping my hair away from it..anything dirt that touches it!
and MOST importantly : changing diet. eliminating starches, sugars, processes "white" carbs, and all junk food and soda! drinking tons of water, fruit, veggies, eggs, fish..walnuts, garlic, and red grapes are great for getting rid of acne. after 6 weeks my skin was glowing.
skin is the largest organ of your body, and as an organ it reflects your habits and more importantly its on the outside for all to see! im a huge believer in natural, healthy habits as a means to beauty and they really pay off.

^ As far as I know, the only way to get rid of hormonal acne is to go on hormone altering prescription medications, which I don't recommend because of side effects. Right now, my face is completely clear except for this annoying breakout on my right cheek that I believe is hormonal.
