The braille joke is supposed to be about areolas anyway LOL.

sheesh. Sorry to repeat anyone, but I didn't feel up to reading all 4 pages of replies...
My club has a GREAT DJ, a mediocreDJ, and a horrid DJ.
The horrid one says things like: "Ooooo damn, don't it just make you wanna try to tap that ass!" I never get offended, but like someone else said, it make the guys just THAT much harder to control on the couches.
The medicore DJ says things like: "Now let's take a look at Gia..." "get 'er up, get 'er dancin', just $10 a song on the couches." you know, nothing offensive, but nothin' special. this is fine by me.
HOWEVER, the best DJ (all the gal's concur) says stuff like: "Mmm.Mmmm.Mmm. That's another one of our perfect 10's and another VERY good reason, I LOVE my job. Snatch 'er up boys before me or someone else does, you can marvel at this gorgeous beauty up-close for a mere $10 a song back on the couches..." etc. To me, THIS is an excellent example of what to say to sell the girl, w/o high risk of offending her.

I agree PBCF, that is a good way to get the guys tipping and buying dances.
But in M&M's defense, I don't honsetly see what was so wrong about what he said. But I guess I have been doing this so long, pretty much anything the DJ says I either don't hear or I ignore and ask him about it later.
I think she went a little far, by walking off the stage. In my club that's an automatic suspension or firing. She should have went on and finished her show then confronted him about it.
But that's my .02

Aye with Kitana, extreme reaction. Though my thought was sequins or something on the thong or, worse, pimples or an STD. >:P Though I gotta say, my current DJ at old club sounds SO unexcited about the dancers it so doesn't help the momentum of the room at all. It is just how he talks, terrible. Otherwise, is fine.
though this is reminding me how much I disliked my old DJ. >.< He basically told me I couldn't dance to anything I remotely liked because it didn't suit me and wouldn't even take requests from customers for me [if we have 5 guys in the audience, none at the rail, 2 of them say to me "I wish they'd play some OLD rock in here, AC/DC would be great!" and I ask him to play that or something similar - DON'T PLAY SK8ER BOI!]

The only remark a DJ ever made that really pissed me off was I was working in a new club and my first song, first set the DJ gets on the mike and goes "Come on Guys She's Not That Ugly, Someone tip her" I know I'm not ugly but that remark really pissed me off... To top is off I got off stage and the DJ came up to me and wanted a $20 tip out (I snuck out the backdoor :)
