As for exercise... I don't use that word as I concentrate on activity and just trying to be active.

My problem is that it is easy for me to be active when I am away from home for work. When I am home.. the internet is here.. accessible.. fast.. reliable... and I find my activity levels drop.

The nights I work I will only do light activity (low impact) be it vacuuming, "spring cleaning", going to the shops and so forth. My nights/days off I will do more strenourous stuff around the house, larger shopping "excursions", more walking, riding my bicycle and 20 min. of pilates.

I strive to do the pilates three times a week and aim for 10,000 steps. I do not count the walking around my club as part of the 10,000 steps minimum ... I see them as "bonus" activity. It's about 1000 steps to/from and within the local supermarket for me (as I never go to the supermaket for one item - I'm usually shopping on my flatmate's behalf as well).

I have a pedometre to help me to keep track of my steps.

I do low impact as I have weak ankles thanks to the wearing and dancing in stilettos for many years now.

Wow, some of you eat soooo well! I am getting better but still probably not as good as I should be. On a typical day I might eat:

Breakfast: bran cereal with Soy Milk or protein bar. I know I should eat breakfast but I often wake up around lunch time.

Lunch: Salad from Quizno's or Subway, iced tea with Sween 'n Low

Snack: protein bar or nuts.

Dinner: grilled lean meat (chicken, pork, beef, fish, whatever) brown rice, black beans. I am going to turn into a black bean soon because I eat them so much.

I try to drink my 8-10 glasses of water a day and usually get pretty close and I don't drink nearly as many sodas as I used to.

Well, I should be eating a lot better (or less I guess). I don't have a set thing or time I eat every day, I like to mix it up a bit. But basically I eat granola, skim milk, a lot of soy (soy meats), whole wheat pitas, peanutbutter, fruit (lots of fruit), the occassional salad w/ dressing and raw veggies (once every week I'd say, I hate veggies), yogurt, cheese, meat (about once or twice a week) and every once in a blue moon an oatmeal/chocolate chip cookie. Keep in mind I don't eat this all in one day, lol, that's just the foods that I consume on a regular basis.
