my now ex mother-in-law came up with the stage name Sapphire for me. ::) Gawd, that was a dysfunctional family.

Sapphire is really named Willameena. Honest!
noelle
09-23-2004, 08:07 PM
I thought I was going to use Noelle as my stage name, but I went with Veronica, it suits me better. I still like Noelle though.

Wow, really impressive. Mythology, astrology, mythic tales, obscure etymology, mysticism, humor, goth. Lots of really great names here. I'm the friggin' linguist, and I have the most boring name!
At my home club, newbie customers always ask the ladies at my table, "is he the owner? All the beautiful women are sitting at his table." I sure hope they are. If not, I'm not living up to my own expectations on being a good host and generous regular.

NurseBettie13..... I am a major Bettie Page fan and a lot of people say I look like her but without the bangs. So for a few years now people have been calling me Bettie. Also the nurse part has to do with my hope to become an RN. My b-day is on November 13th so 13 has kinda always been my lucky number. I hate picking screen names... I hate having to make choices in general..LOL!!

Aside from being a play on words given the nature of strip club customers, it's also what I hope to be doing in a professional capacity in 6-9 months time. The name ties in with the avatar as well...
:D
cottoncandy
09-23-2004, 10:33 PM
I chose cottoncandy because at the time I wanted to post and I really couldn't think of anything. Then I asked myself what I like and the first thing that came to mind was eating yummy foods and I thought cottoncandy sounded sort of girly, fluffy and soft. I'm not going to dance under that name though- that'd be silly.
I liked the word Trix...
the end. ;D
Sitri
09-24-2004, 02:32 AM
SITRI is from the Hebrew, meaning MY SECRET or MY HIDDEN PLACE. Variant spelling - SITHRI
Biblical name – SITRI was a Levite of the Kehat family (Exodus 6:22).
In demonology Sitri is a Great Prince of Hell, and reigns over sixty legions of demons. He causes men to love women and vice versa, and makes them to show themselves naked if it is desired. He also reveals secrets of women, mocking them.
He is depicted with the face of a leopard and the wings of a griffin, but under the conjurer's request he changes into a very beautiful man.
Other spellings: Bitru, Sytry.
See also The Lesser Key of Solomon, Ars Goetia.
That is Fk'n Awesome! ;)
Would you like to conjure me? Show me your best spell. 8)

Well. I must say I am rather disappointed that you all would actually think I was serious when I said I took my name from the word bridge and just added the feminine 'tte' on the end. Geeeeez people!
It's been my online name forever, on my old website, and it's been my stage name off and on for years. Think I'll retire with it. I just remember as a kid, there was a girl in my kindergarten class with that name and I always liked it. She's the only person I ever knew IRL with that name.

Deogol
09-24-2004, 05:55 AM
I actually assumed Deogal was an obscure Lord of the Rings reference. Gollum's (Smeogal) brother that he murdered to get the ring was named Deogal.
Probably J.R.R. Tolkien's Anglo saxon mastery at work, again. Eo is Anglo Saxon for horse, and he has characters named Eowyn, and Eomer that belong to the Rohirrim (the Horse people).
It is also a name in Beowulf.

Susan- only my parents know why, my dad thought I was named after Susan Heyworth but mom says no.

Not exciting at all. I dance under Susan and I love it when guys ask what my real name is, I tell them it's Bertha.

Blade
09-24-2004, 11:26 AM
The name Blade is actually a shortened version of my first screenname ever: Bladeinhand...At the time I was working at a dungeon and training with a blademaster and needed a s/n so Bladeinhand was born. I was also thinking of a line in a song god is a dj, and in my world I consider myself god, so god is a dj became blade is a dj...It beats Mike!

my first name, middle name and two of my stage names all start with c. it would work better if i had c-cups. then when people ask me why i did it i'll go "you see, i had this screen name..."
the girl part, well, that's a BIG SECRET that no one will ever figure out! :detective:
PhaedrusZ
09-25-2004, 09:09 PM
...Anyone else want to explain their names?
Phaedrus from a favorite book, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance," by Robert Pirsig, although Phaedrus also has a much earlier origination in philosophy. Phaedrus is the "alter ego" of the author in the book, and an "alter ego" for me on this MB. And if you read the title of the book, you can see where the "Z" of my "nick" originated. For those who might be interested in reading this book in their web-browser

Djoser
09-25-2004, 11:15 PM
Djoser has nothing to do with my being a DJ. He was the Egyptian king (they didn't start calling them "Pharoah" until much later) who built the oldest monumental stone structure thus far known in history, the Step Pyramid.
I have always been a serious Egyptophile. It got me a scholarship worth about a hundred grand, and I was destined to become an Egyptologist, until I realized I would have to spend six months out of the year camping out in the desert and waking up at 6AM with hardcore nerds.
I did get a great education out of the deal, and am intending on using one of my vocational talents (architectural illustration) to do an aerial view of the pyramid field around Saqqara, at some point.
On a somewhat more entertaining note, I could do amazing things on the mike with a dancer named "Trouble". I used to have a routine along those lines with one of my favorite all-time dancers, Destiny, but I haven't used it for a while.
I hope your DJ is making good use of such an excellent name, tRoUbLeMaKeR...
And python fan, "nee!"

A vascular implanted device, misspelled. Dick Cheney has one, so I want one too. He's so dreamy.
Actually, my uncle Stan died on the same day that I was I was born. Some kind of spooky connection. The fact that he died at a young age has always been a bit unnerving. I've never given it a lot of thought, figuring I'd end up in therapy.

You mean Snefru? 'Pharoah' was never the egyptian 'god-king's name, in history. It's from the bible and it refers to the whole royal house, not one man. It's like calling the president "the white house."
Snefru had the step pyramid, the bent pyramid, and the first true pyramid (the red pyramid) built. I'm, uh, 'pretty sure' about this...

Djoser, or Netjerikhet, (2668-2649) was 3rd dynasty and built the Step Pyramid at Saqqara (or whatever spelling you prefer) and a surrounding mortuary complex with the "first-named-architect" Imhotep.
Snefru (2613-2589) built the Southern (Bent, Blunt, or Rhomboidal) and Northern (Red) Pyramids at Dahshur. The Red Pyramid was viewed as the first "true" pyramid but the actual angles of the sides are about 8 degrees of the accepted norm.
edited to add: There are 5 different royal names of the pharaoes. Horus, Nebti (two ladies), Golden Horus, Throne Name (Prenomen) and Birth Name (Nomen).
And we all thought keeping track of screen names was difficult!!

Alexisgold97 is a combination of my last stage name, part of the name of the club that I worked at the longest, and one of the years that i worked thier that stands out in my mind the most. It's what I came up with at the time, but to be honest its not somthing I care for. I figured that changing it would be to much of a pain in the ass.
However, my signiture is my real name.

Mine comes from two things.
First my love of Japanese culture, I have 4 Katana's, and second one of my fav video games.
Mortal Kombat 2 on Super 'Tindo, I can still kick ass with those fans man. And I love to give people hell about it.
But honestly I look damn good for being 10,000+ yrs old.....
As for Djoser, I already kinda knew that, I'm an ancient Egypt fan too.
ANd for Deogol, I didn't know about the other reason but I did know about Golum's brother. And I read Beowulf, but I can't remember that one. Alas, I have to read it again!

I once replied to a post about Divas in San Juan as Deja Voodoo. See, there's a club in SJ that Bridgette absolutely loves called Deja Vu. It has what Divas doesn't: extras. Then I changed my nick to Deja Voodoo and when I decided to change it again found out that I couldn't so I'm stuck with it :shrug:Now I'm back to sol_de_pr2, woohoo!!!
