I booked an hour with what I thought was a masseur. Went to her apartment, and guess what?

You really thought you were going to get a massage? LOL.

I can no longer pride myself on having been completely faithful in my marriage, but I strangely don’t feel that guilty about it either

The temptation factor is insane in LV. Somehow I've barely managed to limit my activities to things I don't feel too guilty about. I'd like to think what a great guy I am, but the truth is I'm just as much a horn-dog complete fucker as most other guys. When my mind isn't on how to make money at work, it's on hot tail.

I just don't want to deal with the guilt when I get home from a L.V. trip. Besides I'm a terrible liar and would never pull off the "oh the massage was really bad" line. Actually my SO says she doesn't care what I do in Vegas as long as I'm safe and it's a one time thing. But I know her, she means that like a test, do it and fail. Well that or she is feeling guilty about something herself ;)

Anyway, welcome to Vegas dude. The place is crazy. I visit a couple of times a year at least. I'm thinking about going back as early as April 2007, then again in Summer some time. There is no place like it for the density of great restaurants, gambling, strippers, and "massage therapists" ;D

Alrighty folks, maybe my observations were different, but I didn't see what was so bad about downtown LV. Granted, its the poor man's strip, could use a bit of a makeover, and that Neonopolis thing was a total waste of a good city block but personally I saw as much of Vegas's uglier qualities near the South Strip megaresorts as I did there. I particularly remember riding the CAT bus from the Excalbur-Luxor-MB complex next to a depressed younger guy who told me that he was going to kill himself once he got downtown. I got off the damn bus three hotels before mine and walked the rest of the way.
:O
I will admit, any part of the town can look rather ugly and vacant during the daytime. Hell, you can practically jaywalk across Las Vegas Boulevard at nine in the morning.

Frankly, if there's anything I found depressing, it was all those SoCal snivelling brat twentysomethings that flock in on weekends, particularly at MB, the Hard Rock or the Palms and walking around spending their trust fund money like they're hot shit or something. All the polyester is sucking the character out of the place, but thats where the money is I guess.

What are they thinking--trying to make vegas in kansas? sheesh. what happens in vegas gets arrested in vegas?
The laws in some regards are actually looser here in KS than they are in LV. Most clubs here can have full nudity and a liquor license, and busts aren't that terribly common.

I'll agree the weekend we went probably wasn't the most ideal to be in Vegas. There were a couple of restaurants I really wanted to try that were "shut down for renovations" and even though I really hadn't planned on seeing any shows or going to any clubs, there were several that were closed or "dark". I figure they were just taking some time off before the "real" holiday week which probably started this last weekend right before Christmas and lasts through New Year's.

While we did go downtown "early" around 7 PM, we weren't there very long, and I actually liked it. I made money down there. LOL! Actually we took a taxi from the Wynn Hotel to Fremont St. which is obviously quite a bit of a difference in style...I guess. We were only there for a few hours though since I remember being back on the Strip by midnight.

As for staying up all night, I don't really need to change my body clock, I'm already a night owl. I actually thought having a hotel room was a huge waste. I checked in on 3 PM Friday, dropped off my stuff and didn't see the room again until 3 AM that night (and except for the 3 hours I slept on the plane I had already been up about 36 hours at that point). After a couple of hours of sleep we were up and having crepes in Paris (not my choice) early Sat. morning. We didn't see the hotel room again until 5 AM Saturday night. It was a crazy, sleepless weekend. I don't think I missed out hanging with all the "partiers".

I still think it's a sad place, though. :P

aggieed, I ran into the same problem of restaurants I wished to check out being closed during the pre-Christmas season. I did manage to finagle my way into Delmonico's (Emeril Lagasse's steakhouse at the Venetian) without a reservation right before the Blue Man Group though. Very good food and wine, though very pricey ($85 including tip for just me).

It's been over a week since I left Vegas (and flown to the Bay Area, then back here to the UK) and I think I'm still recovering. I must've worn out the carpet at the Rhino leading to the 3/$100 and main VIP rooms, as I spent the majority of my time between those two areas. Even made it back to my old stomping grounds, Club Paradise, where I was able to be the last man standing at closing time (8:00am) two nights in a row.

The most amusing thing about the trip was Monday night. I'm rolling up to the Rhino around 10:30pm, and it started *snowing*. I'm talking blowing snow, blizzard-condition. It wasn't cold enough to stick, but it was enough to get waitresses and bouncers running outside for a look.

Great choice.

I have to say, 3 for $100 in the VIP doesn't grab me as a great deal, when it's 3 for $60 on the floor. At least when I've been to the Rhino, the mileage is usually so good out on the floor there didn't seem to be much point.

Oh, but the VIP rooms in Vegas have all those cool perks X, like drinks going for double what they cost on the floor which you HAVE to buy to gain admission, dancers who spend a good portion of the three songs trying to talk you up to the half-hour VIP, and some fat tony host who expects a $20 tip. By the time you've figured all that in, its damned near $50 a song.

I mean who could forgo that for the priveledge of cutting your losses after one song when you get a bad dance.

That would almost be funny, if it weren't true.

The VIP rooms do offer some extra privacy and we all know what that can mean, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me to start out paying extra for the privacy without first having had some test dances out on the floor.

I'm a glutton for punishment and usually go the half-hour route (at the Rhino):
$200+ drinks($30-35) + tip to doorman($10-20) + tip to dancer= YIKES.

Tip the doorman up front though and he'll usually leave you alone and not watch the clock too closely.

The nice thing about the Rhino 3 for $100 room is that it doesn't require you to purchase drinks.

Don't worry, I don't do blind 3/$100s. The three ladies who shuttled me back and forth are my Rhino faves...basically we hung out at a table for a while, then they took turns taking me back to VIP. And as long as I brought in drinks ordered on the main floor, I wouldn't get bothered to buy more unless we needed them.

So I'm going to be in Vegas the night of the AVN Awards show... is that usually a pretty good time to be in town? Just curious to see if anyone has been out there during that time of year in the past. (I'm thinking of hitting some regular clubs in addition to SCs, btw, so any suggestions are welcome)

So a couple of weeks ago my Vegas wingman and I made plans to head up to Vegas for a couple of days (Wed-Fri of this week actually). My wingman canceled out on me over the weekend, leaving me the choice of canceling the reservations or heading up on my own. I've gone alone in the past and had a good time but I always seem to have a lot more fun when the wingman is with me. I've been going back and forth on whether to go alone all week when today out of the blue I got a TM from one of my favorite Vegas dancers asking when I was coming again, talk about good timing, needless to say I've decided to head up alone. I haven't been out of town in awhile and I already had the time off of work anyways so hopefully it will be good break for me.

So WOOHOO!!!! I'll be in Vegas the next 2 days!!!!

If anyone else is there and wants to meet up let me know.

Gen, dude, you got the mojo man, I know it. We should go out clubbing one night in philly. Not as wing men but as buds. You know I spend so much of my life retrained by responsibilities... the club for me is a place to go and just let go. Wingmen I don't need, but buds are cool.

Fair enough. Sounds like a good time. But don't mess with me or I'll bring Jenny. }:D She is FUN! :)

Well I think of wingman originally in the sense of flying where the wingman stays off to the side and back of the lead aircraft. The wingman takes his lead from the lead aircraft, while the lead aircraft is sort of the primary in terms of making decisions. Buds to me implies equality. Yea, I know, the wingman term has a different meaning in the context of two buds going out, but I have trouble shaking the aircraft imagery ;)

I just got back from Vegas yesterday. I went to the Spearmint Rhino both nights I was there, I know it's got some faults but I love that place. It was like old home week, I ran into several dancers who I knew from other clubs who now dance there (including Ms VATF for those of you who read some of my past Vegas TR's), obviously the ladies are following the money because that place is easily the top club in Vegas right now. On a side note, and I mention this because of some similar topics I've been reading lately, I'm guessing the clubs popularity does have a lot to do with the quality of the girls because as usual there was not a single girl there who looked out of place and that is highly unusual for Vegas where the typical job requirement is a willingness to pay the clubs fee's. I highly recommend a visit to SR to any junkie going to Vegas, try a Wed/Thur night too, it was busy but not insanely busy like it gets on most weekends.

I guess I can't really blame you, that place can be a madhouse on a regular weekend (let alone a holiday weekend). You could try going early (say around 8pm), it's usually not bad at that time. I'm guessing Monday should be alright too though. Have fun!!

Yes just 1 Sat. night experience was enough for me. As a matter of fact, I was there early around 10 and by 11, there was no walking/dancing spacing. :(

That's how some dancers get away with the "I'm only doing VIP tonight" spiel. If you get there after 11 on a weekend and find someone you really want dances from, you're pretty much forced into a VIP room for lack of available seating.

Yea well I actually had a seat, but it was still too crowded. In fact, I got up to let some guy get a dance too because they couldn't find a spot.

Eeep, only two more days til I'm on a plane for Sin City }:D

I haven't figured out yet whether this will be a "visit my faves" trip only...my schedule feels compressed because I get in on Thursday evening and leave on practically the first flight out on Monday morning. Plus, since it's a holiday weekend AND a fight weekend (UFC PPV) it's no wonder that hotel rooms are uber-expensive, plus the clubs should be packed like a rush-hour subway car.

Plus, I found out my brother will be in town, and he doesn't do SCs, so we'll probably do some brotherly bonding over $25 blackjack ;D

Wow. Because i was there thursday night and after a trip to the VIP room i couldn't find a seat when i came back. Total PITA.

Got back from Vegas yesterday and will post a TR soon. One thing I noticed this trip. There were cops everywhere. On every corner. They looked like city and county officers. At first I thought they were chasing the streetwalkers away, but a taxi cab driver said they were cracking down on gangs. Probably because of what happened during the NBA All Star weekend. One of the dancers I talked to said she left work early and didn't work again that weekend due to the clientel that came into the club.

I just got back from Vegas too (well Friday), I made another stop at the Rhino, I don't even bother stopping at any other clubs anymore, there's just no reason to IMHO. My lord, mileage was incredible, the quality of the girls phenomenal, I'm happy I'm 300 miles away, otherwise I'd be penniless and living on the streets.

There are, but it is such a cheap trip for me and if my mood changes then the possibilities to do more are always there.

What I like about Vegas in mid/late December is there are no crowds. Unfortunately some restaurants are closed, but for the most part I can just walk into any of my favorite restaurants and get a table.

There is definitely a caste system at the Rhino. However, with all the Brits, without tickets, in town for the Hatton-Mayweather fight, and the rodeo in it's first weekend, you may need to get there in the afternoon for any hope of an empty seat.
