I don't like Mexico. If you want constant harrassment for a few expensive minutes in a dirty gringy small cubical, tipping the guy to let you in etc then you may enjoy it, but just not my interest.
I also enjoy intelligent conversation with women. I don't know Spanish and have no time or desire to learn it. "Want to fuck" is not my idea of intelligent conversation :-[
Further, I tend to enjoy more the tall slender Euopean women very common in Canada vs the Latin shorter body type. Also the European women are in general very wonderfully intimate in the ways I enjoy. Very different than typical American women bred in such a sex negative culture, other than for just for tease, titilation and selling products.

BTW, ironically while I don't get out much in Phoenix myself, I have hosted the Phoenix Private List which is a group of about 500 local sexworkers and customers, since 1996. But other than Stevi Secret (porn star who owns a club in So Phx) it is mostly about full service escorts, massage and keeping ahead of Sheriff Joe's publicity stunt round ups and other such issues.
There is more info for anyone interested near the top of http://www.sexwork.com

Dave, thanks for the info on Canada. Still, I like Phoenix clubs. I'm all about hot women, and the clubs here have them in abundance.
And speaking of hot women, does anybody know if the Penthouse Club has many hotties? My brother is coming up to Phoenix this weekend and wants to go there. I'm sure the club is nice, but how are the women?

Hmm, Xanthus. My ex-boyfriend (still best friend)' s new girlfriend works at Penthouse. I don't know her stage name, but apparently she's hot as hell. I'll find out for you and you can check her out in person.

I enjoy giving good touch more than receiving so have no interest in Phoenix clubs.
I especially enjoy doing nice breast massage which many dancers appreciate vs typical grabbing and groping.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Now I'll have to be sure to set aside some cash for the middle of March. Unless of course this chick you speak of is TOO hot, leaving me no choice but to blow all of my savings...:P

I've been to the Penthouse Club twice, both on Saturday nights, saw a total of 2 good looking women combined between those 2 visits. The club is very nice though.
Dave, I know you do a fairly decent job of keeping your finger on the pulse (if nothing else) of the scene in Phoenix, but I think your comments about the no-touch situation are not all that representative of reality, especially if you haven't been out to Phx clubs lately. It definitely ain't Houston, but the LDs I enjoy at the Hi-Liter are mostly very close, and give plenty of contact to bring me to attention, and give me a very enjoyable experience. I don't have to be able to openly fondle boobs to feel like I'm getting decent mileage out of a lap dance. My sense is that LD action in the HL is pretty similar to what is available in most Phoenix clubs, regardless of the ever present threat of vice stopping by for their own entertainment.
As for Tucson clubs, most of them have VIP rooms where there is much more two way touching allowed, depending on how crowded it is, and how much the floor manager is hovering. The prices are also great, compared to other parts of the country. At Ten's LDs on the floor are only $6, admission to the VIP room is $20, and VIP dances are only $15. AND, if you pre-pay for five VIP dances, the admission fee is waived. I don't know of a better VIP deal anywhere, and I've enjoyed some very nice company at Ten's.
I do agree with your comments about Mexico. Haven't tried it, have read about it, been intrigued by the low prices and high mileage, but thought about it and decided, not worth it, no thanks. However, to each his own.

Thanks for your good comments. As I said, I like to give good touch not to sneak it or the accidently bush of a breast in your face etc.. And I am 100% spoiled by my experiences in Canadian clubs. I've been to Hi-lighters (not far from me) and decided it just isn't worth it for me vs more full contact (but non sexual) I enjoy in Canada.
I have had the same experience in the Tucson clubs, but never tried the VIP. Once all I was doing was a nice back massage on a dancer who was enjoying it, nothing remotely sexual and a bouncer told me I couldn't touch the dancer and showed me the no touch sign at the entry.
I am sure the Phoenix/Tucson clubs are great for some guys, just not my interest due to the restrictions. I frequent Canada 3-4 times a year usually 10 days at a time to enjoy (in the Summer when hot here and nice there). I don't mean to be too negative about them due to my more different perhaps interests than some guys here.
I also am very aware of what happended at one club not long ago, the slightest improper touch by a dancer and the kangaroo court that resulted with a vice cop in the audiance.
It's too bad more clubs don't allow what is legal in Phoenix, which is all but certain areas of the body and unfortunately breasts are off limits. But many clubs seem to have from my experience excessive non touch rules since they know most guys will try and get more and the clubs can be fined and closed by the slightest infraction.
The dancer usually gets off with a plea deal that they take which leaves the club holding the bag with no way to defend themselves since she pleaded guilty for almost no penality. That of course is why the clubs policies of such limited touch.

I can imagine the glee for the City Attorney of Phoenix. Opens up City to make laws even more strict and totally eliminated lap dancing if it chooses. Such sillyness all for a little human contact.
9th Circuit Decision bad news for lap dancing
The usually liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (which decides cases in AZ as well as CA) has upheld a two-foot rule law that ends lap dancing. The ruling says regarding the erotic message (free expression) "Although the message may be slightly impaired from this distance, it cannot be that a dancer's performance 'no longer conveys eroticism' from two feet away."
Furthermore, the judge reasoned, "the ordinance was thoroughly researched and narrowly tailored to combat the negative side effects of adult businesses that the city's research identified" and thus is not too "vague or overbroad." La Habra enacted the ordinance in question because the activity leads to prostitution, crime, drug use and disease.
The decision was published January 26, 2005 and is at http://www.ca9.uscourts.gov/ca9/newopinions.nsf/832B8C120133166A88256F95000427F2/$file/0456072.pdf?openelement

Hey Xanthus you should just save your money for when you come to the HiLiter in March. :D I've been pm'ing with AZAmber over on SW - she works there now - and we're going to work together when I come down over spring break.
It's looking like March 12-21 I'll be in town - will let you know which nights I'm working!!

By a wide margin, Hi-Liter is still the best club in PHX, combined dancer quality and what passes for contact in the city. I'm putting together my reports on Hi-Liter, BSC, CC's, Skin and Centerfold's. I didn't get to as many clubs this year because of my side trip to Vegas and the OTC availability. This was easily my best trip ever to AZ.

I only got to visit three clubs when I was in Phoenix, but I have to agree with CP. Hi-liter was the best service I have ever received in my life, coupled with better than average dancer selection and a general aura of a good time. If I am ever in Phoenix again, you'll know where to find me...

I'm with you guys on the Hi-Liter, I really like that place, unfortunately some "world's colliding" issues keep me away from the night shift there, I'm more than happy with the day shift there though.
I don't want this AZ clubs thread to die off, so I'll chime in once in awhile, and hope you other desert horndogs will do the same. I finally made time today check out at least one SCJ member's favorite Phoenix club, Centerfolds. For some unknown reason, I had envisioned this place as being small and grungy, sort of like Bandaids, so I hadn't made it a priority to drive that far north (East of I-17 on Peoria). Wow, this place rocks! It's much larger than I thought, has comfortable seating, a great stage (the swing is pretty cool), great looking girls, and an awesome VIP experience ($20 entry, $20/dance). It's too bad my ATF is at the HL. If I could see her in the VIP room at this place, all of my financial resources would be at risk............. Centerfolds is WAY out of the way for me when I'm in town from Tucson, but I will absolutely be stopping in again, probably regularly.

I've been to Centerfolds once, that was on a weekend night and it was too packed to have much fun, maybe I'll have to try it at a less busy time of the week (or earlier in the day). It's a bit out of the way for me too, but what the hell I am a junkie.
I went to Skin last week and had a real good time, lots of lookers there, I just wish the place was bigger as it can be a bit of a hassle finding places to sit at times.

I've been enjoying Christie's in Tempe lately. This place would be up there with Bourbon Street Circus as may favorite club in the Valley if not for the parking situation...

Out of all the clubs I've been to in Phoenix I prefer the Phoenix Christie's, the Tempe one does not have a pole, what's a stripper without a pole? Though if you happen through Tempe one say hello to a statuesque blonde named Kenna or a busty brunette named Dream, love those girls!
Though if you are in Phoenix Christie's you have to come see me or Nadia or Serenity. Best lapdancers there!
I liked Skin but it was small, I have never been to HiLiter though I want to, Bourbon is too barbie for me.
As for Tucson, Tens (at least for working there) was not for me.
So for now I'm working at Le Girls, Christie's Phoenix, and Curves (Tucson). Though my schedules are rather all over the place, you never know where you might see me!
Drop by one of my clubs sometime! Always happy to hook up some VIP passes or free dances to any of my junkies!

Any recommendations on who gives good lap dances at Christie's in Tempe? There was a dancer from that club on the Howard Stern show not long ago who supposedly did some kind of vibrating dance, I don't recall her name though (I'm sure the DJ would no doubt mention it if she is there). There is also a black girl there named Sapphire who is absolutely gorgeous, look for her if you go.

Well, I guess it depends what you consider a good dance. However, one time when I was there, some guy sitting next to me leaned over and said he had just gotten an awesome dance from an Asian whose name I believe is Leilani (or something like that). Shay and Anaya (sp?) are my personal favorites at Christie's Tempe, though.

There is decent info earlier in this thread about Tucson clubs, I think it's mostly still accurate. There are several recent club reviews on TUSCL about Tucson clubs that should also be useful. In general, Tucson has only a couple of nude clubs, most are topless. Mileage (in Az terms) is OK on the main floor at most clubs, much better in VIP, although true extras are rare, in my opinion. My favorite Tucson club is TD's East, especially dayshift. Curves also gets very good reviews, but I rarely go there. Ten's is OK, but some of their best dancers have migrated to other clubs, and I hear it is going downhill fast. Candy Store is OK, and has the cheapest VIP dances in the state at $10. TD's West is a dive in my opinion, I think they take rejects from other clubs. Have never been to Raider's Reef, but it's owned by the same people as Curves I think. Also haven't been to the new club by the airport called Turbulence, but have heard from a co-worker that it's pretty pricey for dances compared to other local clubs. As in all things related to SC clubbing, YMMV, and your tastes may vary even more! Happy hunting.

In Phoenix I like to visit Skin and Bourbon street mostly. I live in Gilbert so the down town clubs are a bit of drive. The girls at bourdon street are hot and I think both clubs have a great party atmosphere. Which I dig.
I ended up spend quite a few hours at Ten's in Tucson. Had a great time. Theclub layout is sweet with three areas. See my review under club reviews. Dances where cheap and the contact is GREAT!!! ;)

Hey AZDD...

Yeah, I'm one of those rare "native" Tucsonans. I visit Tucson clubs every once in awhile. For casual atmosphere, low priced dances, and some excellent VIP sessions, it's not bad at all. However, my job takes me to Phoenix regularly, so I often enjoy the clubs there. My ATF is at the Hi-Liter, and she is so cool that I find myself making up reasons to drive up I-10 to enjoy her company.
I'm glad your trip to Ten's went OK, even with the $20 chat fee you mentioned in the other thread. Next time you come down, let me know, and I'll try to give you some current intel.
;D ;D ;D BIG NEWS for all fans of the Hi-Liter in Phoenix. FINALLY, they are putting in a VIP room. The unused corner stage to the left as you walk in has been removed, and the east back wall modified to provide the new space. They were moving in sofas today. It is supposed to be open for business on Thursday, 7/28. The door guy told me that it will be $20 admission, and $20 dances, which is the same as Centerfolds and other Az clubs with VIP rooms. (Update from 7/28 - the sign outside VIP says $25 per dance, and something about an hourly rate, but I didn't see what it was.) It won't be huge (maybe room for 3 - 4 sofas), but I predict it will be very popular.
One of my favorite gals at the HL, Cicely, will serve as hostess/manager for the VIP area, which means she won't be dancing anymore :( , but she should be a really cool hostess ;) ! The HL has some incredible ladies, and lots of regular custys that I think will be chomping at the bit to test the mileage limits of the new space. I told Nicki this afternoon that she might as well get ready to start spending major amounts of time in VIP, at least when I'm there. Woohoo!!!

Porn star buys Babes Cabaret
Casey Newton
The Arizona Republic
Aug. 12, 2005 02:45 PM
SCOTTSDALE - Babes Cabaret is under nude management.
A partnership that includes Jenna Jameson, a Paradise Valley resident and perhaps the world's most famous adult actress, has quietly purchased Babes, the strip club confirmed Friday.
The move represents an extension of Jameson's Club Jenna brand into live entertainment venues. Established in 2000 with her husband, Jay Grdina, the Scottsdale-based company produces adult entertainment for a variety of outlets.
In a May posting to her Web diary, Jameson wrote she is "super excited" about purchasing the Scottsdale club. Jameson said she and her partners had tried to buy the venue for more than three years.
The new owners plan to remodel the club and launch a search for new dancers, said a Babes employee, who declined to identify herself. It will relaunch in the fall with a new name, the employee said.
The club also plans to establish a live Web site that fans can visit to watch the dancers perform.
"It will be our first Club Jenna strip club {ellipsis} so watch out!" Jameson said on her Web diary. "Hopefully it will be the first of many to come."
The planned renovation of the club, 2011 N. Scottsdale Road, wasn't exactly what Scottsdale had in mind when it launched an effort to revitalize south Scottsdale.
Babes sits less than half a mile away from the planned ASU Scottsdale Center for New Technology and Innovation, the centerpiece of the city's revitalization efforts.
"Well, we know where the high-tech workers will be spending their lunch hours," said Lisa Haskell, a neighborhood activist. "Maybe they can work on some high-tech silicone upgrades."
She laughed.
"Is this what they meant by 'innovation'?"

Okay, so I finish my consulting gig about 7 PM, grab a steak dinner at Flemmings and then head out to Hi-Liter. I immediately get dances from Italia, smokin' hot older brunette with huge bolt-ons. Nice stuff. After that, the pickings are slim, but what really rankles me is the amount of chicks in the club. At least 15-20 non-dancer females are hanging out, some with their BFs, and some alone or in groups. WTF?
I head over to Christie's Cabaret, where I met Brittany Ireland and had abunch of laps with her. But...at least 40% of the crowd is women, again. Double WTF?? Very little talent dancing downstairs, NO ONE walking the floor, they must all be cluistered up in the champagne room. Fuck this. I head out and roll to Bourbon Street. Now I am seriously pissed. The man-to-woman customer ratio is 1-to-fucken-1. WTF is up with Phoenix. When did Saturday night become fucken date night at the strip clubs in this town. Am I really considering taking a job here with this kind of crap happening? I need to get back to the Hawaii Theater. Bad.
CP
Yeah CP, but dinner at Fleming's, now that HAD to be good! Best steakhouse in town IMHO. Sorry your SC visits around the valley weren't more productive. I think there is a general trend among women that SCs are fun places to hang out, and the attention they seem to get just reinforces this. I much prefer dayshift, regardless of the club, because everything is more laid back, casual, less crowded, and more private.
As for the HL-VIP, I've seen and heard varying reports on the cost. Did you go by the hour, or by the dance, and in your opinion was it a worthwhile investment? Thanks.

2005 BEST STRIP CLUB
The Penthouse Club
A veritable seraglio of heterosexual sin that could turn one of those altar-boy-caressin' Father Feelgoods in the Catholic Church into a red-meat-eatin' lover of the female form, this palatial chichi emporium boasts 160 of the finest dames in the Valley, each of them getting half-nekkid just for you. Penthouse also offers up 10,000 square feet of flashing lights, plush chairs, plasma TV sets, long-ass bars with a strip of ice down the middle so you can set your glass down and keep your drink frosty, three stripper stages, and a high catwalk leading from the gals' dressing room to the main stage. Still want more? Penthouse also features an old-school, four-star menu with everything from surf-and-turf to stuffed pork chops. And if you've got the moola, there's an exclusive, members-only VIP section where you can survey the action on the floor from behind tinted windows. Overall, the classiest strip joint in town, bar none.

I was wondering though if there's any info on Hi-Liter's VIP room? I've seen it mentioned here, but no real reports. I'll be back to visit AZ in a couple of months and have to decide to just stick with Centerfold's or add another SC to my list. jbg
I've only been to the HL a couple of times since the VIP room opened, and have not tried it out. I haven't seen anybody else in there either. I was excited about it when it was going in, but the room is really small, and has almost no additional privacy. For $25 per dance, it just doesn't look worth it to me to sit on a sofa instead of a chair with a bouncer hovering. The Centerfolds VIP room is $20 per dance, and MUCH more private, especially during dayshift.

Boy, thats clearly written by an outsider. Someone who doesn't understand the dynamic of what makes strip clubs work. By the ridiculous amount of embellishment on the decor, and the fact that he had to include the word heterosexual, I'd almost swear the reviewer was gay.
::)
No customer worth his salt gives a shit about tinted windows, strips of ice at the bar, flashing lights or a gratuitous amount of square footage (in fact I think big open cavernous strip clubs for the most part suck). All these bells and whistles clubowners piss away their money on just tend to distract from the purpose at hand. Give me a good ol' neighborhood Cheers type titty bar over that anyday.

Richard, what stinks about it? I haven't visited yet. How are the girls/contact/clientele?The club itself is actually very nice, that's not really the problem. What stinks? Let's start with the location, sure being next to two major freeways sounds like a great idea, but the fact is that is one of the worst neighborhoods in town. Throw in what for the most part are some very mediocre looking girls (certainly not a place "Where the Magazine comes alive" as their ads proclaim) and dances that are less than memorable and I really haven't found the place to be worth regular repeat visits. As for the clientele, let's just say they didn't appear to be big spenders (except for what appeared to be an occassional drug dealer), that has to be expected though as there's really not much money in that part of town (as well as virtually no tourist activity). There are many better clubs in town.

If you've ever read the New Times, you would know how close your perception is to reality! I'm always amused at these local "arts" rags, that present themselves as being in touch with the local scene, but on many topics simply don't have a clue.

Now if Ms Perfect 10 came back I'd probably give it a try. I would like to hear CP's opinion on the subject though, care to share CP?
Not sure if this should be in TRs or here in the Az Clubs thread. If the modgods want to move it, no problemo with me.
I had a nice visit to the Hi Liter this last Friday afternoon, except for an issue with a new door guy that I thought I would pass along, and solicit comment. Those who are familiar with the HL know that the chairs along the wall are probably the best locations for getting lapances (better leverage!). However, the really good seats are towards the back by the restroom, because the aisle is much wider so you and your dancer don't get trampled. The corner seat is particularly popular, because it provides a great view of the stage and the entire floor, and it has at least an illusion of greater privacy for enjoying the company of your favorite girls.
When I came in, the only wall chair available was the one right next to the primo corner seat, where another guy was getting smothered by a dancer named Dusty. My ATF, Ms. Nicki had seen me come in, but was busy with another customer, so I started some warmup laps with a gal named Roxie. During our second song, the corner guy left, so I suggested that we jump to his seat, which we did. Next I spent some quality time with Cameron, one of my faves at this club. This girl is just stunning IMHO. Imagine Charlize Theron's face (those blue eyes, those soft features, that gentle smile...oh god she's adorable), coupled with Pam Anderson's breasts, but I digress (btw, Cameron's having implant reduction surgery next week, and will be out for six weeks or so, I wished her well, and hope to see her again). Anyway, after a handful of dances from Cameron, I decided to settle in and wait for Nicki, who was still booked with some other regular.
While I was waiting, this new door guy that I hadn't seen before came up to me, and said that "his guy" had arrived, and that he was supposed to get my primo corner seat. He seemed to be busting me for moving to this chair on my own, without permission, and told me that they seat everyone in the club for a reason. He then asked if I'd ever been there before, and I told him I had been fairly regular for the last five years, and had NEVER had anyone tell me where I could or could not sit if the seat was empty. He finally said I didn't have to move if I didn't want to, so I said thanks and stayed put. When Nicki came over, I told her about it and she said he was probably just trying to get money from me. The door guy then seated "his guy" near me, pointing to me as if to say "There's the dick who is sitting in your seat". I recognized him as a regular, that indeed does often sit in this corner, usually wearing a full suit and tie. Eventually he migrated to the chair right next to us, and I decided to be cool, so I introduced myself, shook his hand, and told him that I would be getting about four more songs, and then the seat would be all his. He was totally cool with it, and told me to take my time, and joked that he hoped Nicki came with the seat (another fan).
I finished my LD set with the incomparable Nicki, and everything worked out fine with this guy, but the door guy's attitude, and attempt to roust me from my favorite seat really pissed me off. I know some clubs have reserved seats, but they are typically marked with a card or something, and that has never been a practice at the HL, at least not in my experience. Have any of you other HL regulars had an experience like this? /:O

No, that has never happened to me at the HL, but I used to know one of the bouncers there and he told me it was a common practice to elicit tips that way, and if you didn't tip they would basically do everything in their power to encourage you to cut your stay short (stand in front of you, seat people very close, etc, etc). He worked nights though, I really haven't seen that during the dayshift.

Same here, I've been there several times since they've added it, I just haven't tried it, it always appears to be empty, it doesn't really seem that private, and the girls don't push it, it just doesn't seem worth the added expense to me ($20 entry fee, then $25 per dance, as opposed to the $10 dances on the main floor). Now if Ms Perfect 10 came back I'd probably give it a try. I would like to hear CP's opinion on the subject though, care to share CP?
I've pretty much lived at HL since I moved here, and have seen very, very few people use it. Most of the gals use it as a staging area (for putting their clothes back on) or making cell phone calls (it's quieter in there). I've honestly never been asked once by any dancer to try it out, and, from the regulars I've cultivated, most are fairly scornful of its usefulness.
Everyone agrees that at $25 a pop (plus the $20 admission fee, plus the champagne), means that management has pretty much priced the VIP room out of its core clientele's range. HL is a neighborhood club; it most definitely is not Christy's or the Penthouse Club. I've never tried it out and I can afford it; there is no 250% increase in mileage in there, so the ROI simply does not exist. My verdict: right idea (getting rid of a stage I've only seen used twice in 16 years), poorly executed. Thumbs down.
