Libel

Since our legal expert is no longer amongst us (I hope), I thought I'd throw out another legal term, I'm not making any judgements, just stating facts (go ahead, read between the lines).

Libel:

(A) a written or oral defamatory statement or representation that conveys an unjustly unfavorable impression, (B) (1) : a statement or representation published without just cause and tending to expose another to public contempt (2) : defamation of a person by written or representational means (3) : the publication of blasphemous, treasonable, seditious, or obscene writings or pictures (4) : the act, tort, or crime of publishing such a libel.

Any thoughts?

LOL, he said a lot of shit, none of which I believe.

I am just wondering if libel covers message boards/review sites, I would think so when posts are made only to damage someone's reputation and earning potential and have no acutal factual basis whatsoever. Once again, I'm not making any judgements [winky], I'm just curious.
