I've just started about a half a week ago and I'm 21. My friend started when she was 19 so I guess just go when you feel comfortable.

I'm curious on where your parents thought you were at 14, and didn't the club check an id?...... i am wondering the same thing. :( but a lot of kids do end up doing this type of work to survive, and most people don't care enough to check.

I started at 31! And now I am 34. Most people think I am 25. Hooray for sunscreen and water! And exercise!

And I am amazed at the women who started at 18. I could never have started that young. Gosh even at 31 I was naive. If I started at 18 I would have been chewed up and spit out LOL!

I will say that now I am much more street smart.

No. It was a super ghetto crappy bar right across from the Indianapolis Speedway. They never asked for ID (which I now think is beyond crazy!). I was so naive. I walked in an asked for an application and the woman behind the bar was like, "Shit, we ain't got one. Just get up there and show me what you got!"

I was 17 when I started at stripper school. My mom signed the form and since I decided to wait till I was 18 to get my drivers license she was literally dropping me off and picking me up just like some convaluted form of soccer practice. I was learning pole tricks and practicing burlesque routine and in between classes I was doing my highschool english homework.

I didn't start actually making money from getting nekked untill I was 19...I'm 20 now.

Stripper school? Are you serious?

I don't know if I posted in this thread already, and I always lie about my age anyway, but I was 25, I think. A pretty good age to start, I'd already had lots of "real job" experience. And I can't imagine dancing while still being in high school! I was such a trouble maker then, it seems like I really would have been out of control. Homework? Graduating? Probably wouldn't have happened at all.

I started in the middle of my Senior year in HS. Luckily I had alot of "real job" experience since I started working as soon as I turned 15 (I was a cashier at a movie theater). Always had a job since, and quite a few of them over those few years! I loved working at the clothing stores on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley since I could usually get free clothes *ahem*. I was kinda bad, sticky fingers. I was a social little raver so having money to get "cool" clothes, have a cell phone and cash to party was a necessity at the time. LoL.

I was one month shy of my 26th Birthday.

Started go go dancing earlier that year. I had an extensive sales/marketing background and a strong entrepreneurial drive. I'm glad it didn't occur to me to start dancing until my mid-20's. I've taken it seriously from the beginning. Thanks in-part to SW!

I was 20, almost 21. I had been planning on waiting til I was 21 to start but my friend convinced me that it would be better to get experience while I was still a minor for a while. I'm glad I decided to do that.

I was 24 and I'll be 36 in November. I wish I would have started sooner with more sense and something like SW to learn from.
