I wish I could post a pic of our recent kitty family member. Unfortunately we had to have him put down :(

He was so cute...all romping around and doin the kitten thing. That lasted for a couple of weeks but then he got all subdued and wouldnt do much of anything other than sleep and eat a little bit. After multiple trips to the vet over a three week period, we were told that there was nothing that could be done. I told the vet that money wasnt an issue...just fix him. Guess I found something that my money couldnt buy.

Mrs FBR and I said goodbye to him which was hard as hell and left him there. It felt like we lost a family member.

fbr- yea it is really hard to put a loved animal to sleep. I used to work at an animal hospital and I used to have to wrap up the dead bodies and put them in the freezer...i've never been the same since, then about a year ago I had to put my first dog asleep....it really is like losing a family member

BlondeLocks - I LOOOOOVE your pug! I cant wait to have one of my own. I have my boo-boo the cat for now.

Someone said they have a pug farm in Julian where like 100's of puppy pugs come rushing up to you at the fence to greet you.

^^ How do you manage having so many cats?

BTW Im a huge cat fan they are all gorgeous and so cute ;D

DylanAngel

I only have the three of them now. Very easy...multiple cat boxes, lol.

It seems like, once you pick up one stray, the word gets out and they start showing up! And I'm such a sucker...but three isn't that much.

I still find it easier than taking care of a dog only because I hate to have to walk them. But I love to play with everybody else's!

that's why my dog uses a pad now. She poops and pees so much it's unbelievable. I mean she'll sometimes poop 3 or 4 times in the middle of the night. Now if I had THREE dogs doing it all on the pad I'd have to have pads everywhere and buy pads by the case. I once housesat for someone who had two dogs and three cats and the cats were waaaaayyy easier to care for but they pretty much ignored me too. I hardly knew they were there at first. Guess they were hiding.

Here are some pictures of our two boys. They discovered a new trick this weekend at the dog park with photos showing what they did. They're greyhounds, so they can easily outrun any other breed by far. Tyler (the black one in the first picture) actually was a champion racing dog before he retired and we've actually had him clocked at 45 MPH. Pretty wild. Anyway, their new trick is that they go pick on another dog at the park to get them annoyed enough to where they'll start chasing them. It's sort of their own way of initiating a race and once it's on, the other dog usually doesn't stand a chance. Pretty funny to watch actually. Anyway, here's Tyler and Kiko...

See, my cats come when you call them. We have to spell it out in front of them C-A-T-S..cuz they think they're dogs, LOL

I'll see if I can dig up any photos of him running...it's pretty wild. He's a bit shy when I get the camera out though so it's rare when I can get a good shot of him running. We got him clocked two years ago at this big event they do every year in Vegas called "Pet-A-Palooza" at one of the parks. They have all sorts of demonstrations, animal adoption organizations, vendors, etc. there. It's a lot of fun. Well, the police department was there with their K9 Unit and for fun they would radar-gun your pet running if you wanted them to. Tyler came in 1st place that day at 45MPH. Greyhounds get up to full speed in 3 strides, so you're talking about 15 feet in about 2 seconds or less.

I didn't think I had a photo of our girl, Reza, running. I just found one though...

He's a little of both. He's part Maine Coon cat, so he's extremely furry, but still big. Last vet visit he was about 17lbs.

I thought about bringing him with me, but work keeps me on the road quite a bit, and I didn't want to leave him in the apartment by himself.

Very responsible of you:) .

Either way, he's just a big cuddly ball of fur. Beautiful!

oh Timmy is so cute! My Sophie is sitting in my lap and just saw his picture. Better watch out she doesn't start trying to flirt with him. She's already got a couple men in her life. Wouldn't want her to be called a floozy.
