I must be nearing geezerdom, or am just getting really finicky with my SC expenditures.
I hit my recently refurbished old hangout last night (I'll have a TR up soon). New upscale decor, VIP area, the works. Brought plenty of cash and didn't even end up spending 20% of it. Ended up buying one lousy lap dance. Not too bad mileage wise depsite having to prepay. Being bumped into by every drunken Dick and Jane on their way to the restroom was another matter. Hence you can see why I didn't buy a second one.
Sorry, but I just don't get this "party atmosphere" that a number of strip clubs seem to be going towards anymore. As usual of course, it seems to be at its absolute worst on weekends. You know the kind. DJ that won't shut up, drink and dance specials left and right, the stupidest hip-hop music imaginable blaring, every fraternity boy within a hundred miles showing up (all of them have that same stupid haircut and same stupid shirt on), half of whom bring their insecure girlfriends and they probably manage spending $30 between the two of them, and to top it off flaky ass dancers who seem to forget that they're at work, who spend way too much time socializing with these losers. I'm sure this formula is doing wonders for the bar operation, but I doubt the dancers are making much money off of it, and the most bizarre part is that they don't even seem to care.
I always thought that strippers and strip clubs were trying to hustle every dollar out of us that they possibly could. Now I'm not so sure what their M.O. is. Sorry, but in the type of environment that I described above, simply does not put me in a mood to be spending money on dances. I don't know about you, but I go to a SC, to relax, not party. There are different establishments that are more befitting the later purpose.
I think from now on, I'm going to just settle on my Tuesday night excursions, even if its at a club with threadbare carpet and questionable plumbing in the men's room. These young'uns can have their fancy interiors, overrated weekend nights and stick them you know where.
Is it just me, or does it seem that clubs anymore are striving for quantity rather than quality? Do you feel that you're being run out of the club by the party crowd and that club management anymore seems to be encouraging them to overrun the place?
Or are some of us just getting old? :geezer:
Either way, I have to go publish a semi-scathing review on TUSCL complete with suggestions for improvements. TTFN.
