Yes. It is the few who are peace loving and gentle. You have it backwards.
Nope- she has it right- it is you who has it backward- imo anyway.
Reading what you wrote about what you seem to think an average Muslim person is like made me wonder - do you know any muslims ?
Have you ever been to a mostly Muslim country ?
Do you base these opinions you shared here on anything other than what you see on TV ?
Do you have any first hand experience in their culture ?

Impeachment takes two-thirds of the Senate to effect, as memory serves. The Senate has a majority of Republicans. Impeachment is problematic, particularly since no crime has been identified. Let's see what we can do through the normal legislative processes of the country.
The Islamic world extends from Indonesia to Algeria. There are some violent countries in there. The Christian world has quite an expanse, too, that includes Northern Ireland, Peru, the Balkans, and so on. I doubt that it's feasible to do a poll about who feels violent about their religion.
Countries and the people in them often hold their criticism of allies when those allies go astray. This doesn't mean they buy into what the allies are doing. It just means that there's a problem with criticizing allies.
Because Egypt is quiet on a Palestinian suicide bombing doesn't mean Egypt supports it.
Because the U.S. is quiet when an Israeli jet wipes out a residential spot doesn't mean that the U.S. supports it.
Because a Republican is quiet when a fundamentalist preacher pipes up doesn't mean that the Republican supports it.
Because a Democrat is quiet when an eco-terrorist pipes up doesn't mean the Democrat supports it.
Criticizing the Islam world for violent acts in countries can sound like criticizing all Christians for the excesses in Northern Ireland, or Kosovo, or any other numbers of incidents. Let's have some solid data and solid rationale to make these claims of violence, bigotry, guilt-by-silence, etc.

Canada Weighs Using Muslim Law
Friday, September 17, 2004
CHICAGO — In Muslim neighborhoods in Canada, some women fear the legal power handed to their religious leaders.
As long as the country's law is followed, religious leaders can play a role in Canada's legal system. But a controversy has erupted over whether Muslim law should be used.
Two parties in a Canadian civil dispute, like a divorce, can opt to use a religious leader as a mediator, and the mediator's decision is binding. Canadian native tribes, Christians and Jews use this system.
"If Muslims have a civil dispute among themselves, they would want to settle the matter within the community rather than take it outside," said Shabir Ally, president of the Islamic Information Institute.
But some Canadian Muslim women fear that Muslim law, or Sharia, will be imposed on them in these civil mediations. Critics say Sharia has been used, or abused, to discriminate against women. And some Canadian Muslim women say they will be badgered into accepting decisions from conservative imams acting as mediators.
"They will be oppressed in a sense because they'll be coerced into feeling they need to follow this process of binding arbitration, implementing Sharia. Otherwise they're deemed as blasphemous and labeled by the community and then where else is she to go?" said Iman Zebian, a member of the board of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women.
Unless the government watches closely, these women worry that imams acting as legal arbitrators will take advantage of women in the name of Islam.

So what, that is only for Muslim communities. Even in the US, people can go to their priest or rabbi for mediation instead of taking things to court!
