I don't know what it is, but Benny has all the luck going his way. Even when he plays poorly, Pittsburgh seems to pull it out. If Pittsburgh wins the AFC championship game it will be because they stop Corey Dillon cold and control the ball on offense. They blew out NE in the regular season because Dillon was out and kevin Faulk couldn't do anything against the Steelers run D. This time around, if Pittsburgh can run on NE and stop NE's running game, Benny won't have to do more than throw 20 passes and simply hit hines ward one of the 20 times he'll be open.
Oh yeah, 4th time's a charm on the NFC championship - eagles over falcons despite my intense hatred for all things Philadelphia Eagle.

I, personally, think Benny and the Steelers had a major wake up call last week and made it through. That's only going to serve to make them very dangerous for the rest of the playoffs. I'm calling the Steelers to take it all. This, coming from a Cowboys fan at heart..lol

Tia Q, hon, were u watching the same game as me last week? LOL If it wasn't for the running game, the Steelers offense was shit.
Yes, I watched the game, haven't missed one. Steelers got into the endzone twice with their offense. Once with a PASS, and once with a run. The Jets-a punt return for a TD and an interception-where was the offense there? To say that Ben was stopped cold ..seriously now, have you looked at the stats on this game?-Especially the stats between the two QBs?
Was it a horrible game for the Steelers?-no doubt! Did Ben play horribly?-definitely. Again, I reiterate, we hurt ourselves in that game, by our mistakes, not the Jet's prowess. However, Steelers did not get 15-1 for the season by all "luck". They do however need to bring their A game against the Pats-I'm hoping with all my might that they do.
To compare the Colts to the Steelers is apples to oranges. Two entirely different styles of play. Steelers are a running game... Colts.. well the Colts are Manning-Not much of a running game, and not much on defense.
I had written a lot more to address some other points, but decided I'll leave it at this-guess we'll find out Sunday. For me, it's been taking forever to get here but at least we've finally reached the hump.. three more days left!

This is so cool! Reminds me of high school sitting in the cafeteria debating sports! LOL Anyhow, the Colts don't have a running game? What is Edgerrin James? Chopped liver? And the ONE td pass by Ben against the Jets, was JUST A LITTLE SHOVEL PASS, WHICH IS ONLY A GLORIFIED HANDOFF AND QUASI TRICK PLAY!!! The Jets offense has nothing to do with Pittsburghs offense! Big bad Ben couldn't drop back and make any deep passes. The only ones he completed were to the Jets! Ben had 181 yards passing to Penningtons 182. Ben had 2 ints, Chad had 1. The main difference in the game, besides Paul Hackett and Herman Edwards ability to call an offensive game, was the JETS DEFENSE, WAS EXHAUSTED LATE IN THE GAME, FROM 2 STRAIGHT OT GAMES IN A ROW, AND THEN THIS GAME. That is why they ran thru the Jets late in the game. So now Tia dear, since I did look at the stats between the 2 qbs, what do you have to say now?? HMMMM????

I like numbers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers all time AFC Championship record is 5-6.
Under Bill Cowher the Steelers are 1-3 (win over Indianapolis in 96; losses to San Diego in 95, Denver in 98, and New England in 01.)
Bill Cowher's playoff record as a head coach is 7-8 (all with Pittsburgh.)
Bill Cowher is 0-1 in Superbowls as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ben Roethlisberger is 1-0 in his playoff career with Pittsburgh.
The New England Patriots all time AFC Championship record is 4-0.
Under Bill Belichick the Patriots are 2-0 (wins over Pittsburgh in 01 and Indianapolis in 03.)
Bill Belichick's playoff record as a head coach is 8-1 (in Cleveland he was 1-1, in New England his playoff record is 7-0.)
Bill Belichick is 2-0 in Superbowls as head coach of the New England Patriots.
Bill Belichick also won a Superbowl as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants against the Buffalo Bills and the K-Gun offense with what some pundits say as the greatest defensive game plan in Superbowl history.
Tom Brady is 7-0 in his playoff career with New England.
Statistics don't mean anything anyway. I just like looking numbers.
Oh, one more number for you all.
Only two Superbowls in NFL history have been played in February (Superbowl XXXVI - New England over St. Louis and Superbowl XXXVIII - New England over Carolina.)
This year's Superbowl takes place on Sunday, February 6.

Money, stop baiting me.. lol I already promised myself I would leave it at that.. we'll find out Sunday!
Ooh and my point in bringing up the QB comparison was that I never claimed the Steelers shut down Chad, yet you claimed the Jets stopped Ben cold (despite Ben having higher yardage than your QB).
I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying they pull out a W. If they do, I just hope that the Pat fans don't claim it was because they were without Seymour this time around :P

This is too much fun!!! Tia, Ben only had 181 yards passing. Pennington had 182! Who had more yards passing?? Now if you want to say Ben had a higher average yards per completion, then you are correct.
Oh and hon, I love baiting!!!! }:D

Money and Souldier, I want you to go easy on Tia when it's over. She's had a bad day. :'(
But her boy Ben did pass for more yards than Tom, 226-205. :)

Um SW, Ben only had more passing yards, because of the prevent defense that Pats were playing during garbage time! Ben was not in the game 2 weeks in a row! Face it, the Jets had them beat, but blew it. We all know the Pats are WAY better than the Jets (and I am a Jets fan), so that, along with Brady as their QB and Bill's defensive scheme pretty much made it a given that the Pats would win! Gonna be an interesting Super Bowl. I still think New England will pull it out.

In the first meeting between the two teams, the Pats lost Ty Law in the first quarter. They also lost Asante Samuel who was already replacing Ty Poole. So, you have two CBs go down during the game. Ben burns Randall Gay on the next play and the next thing you know the Steelers are up by two TDs just like that. This brings me to the point that Belichick had no time to prepare a game plan during the middle of the game when he lost players.
Now he's got a week to prepare and you see what happens. The game plan was simple. Stop the run. Force a rookie to win the game.
I give credit to Pittsburgh's run defense. They are amazing at stopping the run up the middle. It took a couple of reverses and a run to the outside by Corey Dillon to get anything going.
As for Tia, she's done nothing here but support her team with stats and reason why the would win. It just didn't happen that's all. Besides, she's fuckin hot. Why would I want to rub this victory in?

Um, yeah. Someday Ben's gonna tell his granchildren about this game, and how he passed for more yards than Hall of Famer Tom Brady. Nine-year-old Ben III is gonna say, "Yeah gramps, but you got it in garbage time."
I'm a fan of unconscious play and brilliant execution. That game was fun to watch.

I like this Super Bowl matchup, clearly the best of the NFC versus the best of the AFC, two very good defenses, two very good coaches, two very good QB's, I'm betting that NE will be favored but I think it will be a good game, at least I hope so.

Just think, Ben Rottenburger has all the time in the world now to shoot more Campell Soup and Nike commercials.
But, hey, he shouldn't complain. Did you see the piece of ass he gets to bang? Jesus.

Good game to watch last night. I knew when that series of events happened on the Pats drive in the 3rd quarter (the holding call on 3rd and long, the fumble call that got challenged and reversed, the personal foul, then Corey Dillon scampering off to daylight) that it just wasn't going to be the Steelers night.
And their play calling downright stunk when they had it 1st and Goal at the Pats 4.
Oh well, I'm out of the running. Well have to do something similar for March Madness.

Bring it on, Doc.
Tia, the Orange won it all in 2003. They're serious contenders again this year. It's not like you're hoping on Auburn.
But I'll tell you, honestly, driving I-84 totally rocks when you get near exit 86 (for UConn) and see
NCAA Men's Basketball Champions 2004
NCAA Women's Basketball Champions 2004
I turn off the music and read it out loud. The basketball sign of a lifetime. :)

I imagine that is a sight to see :) It was insane around here when SU men won-couldn't imagine if it was both teams. I've got to root for SU-it's my hometown and alma mater, but honestly I can't stand our center (I call him gomer). It amazes me how someone so tall cannot block shots or make shots when he's almost as tall as the basket.. lol SU also has the tendency (as did the Steelers) of letting teams hang around... and eventually that always bites them in the ass.
Tonight they were actually down like 21 at the half playing Rutgers *sigh* came back to win it tho.

Congrats to the Patriots, and congrats to Red for winning the contest. Another touchdown, or the Eagles tying it and sending it to OT would have given the crown to Mikey.
We will inscribe your name on the Chuck149 Commemorative Cup next to Richard Head's. Your Pablo Escobar Airways plane ticket to Columbia should arrive in 6-8 weeks.
What? PEA went out of business when Pablo bit the big one? Aww shit.
Well just another reminder never to buy plane tickets from a street huckster named Raoul. That other plane ticket to Mauritania should have been a tip off I guess.
:O

Sweet as long as its one word. Once you break it into two between the first and second syllables it describes my 49ers perfectly this season.

The game didn't quite make it for me. Troy Aikman still looks like a houseboy. Chris Collinsworth is too analytical, but he knows the game, especially blocking schemes. He made a good point about McNabb needing more deceptive eyes and more consistent accuracy.
The pylon camera was a pathetic joke. Ditto for every other special effects except the yellow lines.
Biggest surprise of the playoffs: how easily New England handled the Colts.
Kraft and Belichek created the first salary cap dynasty.
Worst ESPN Superbowl segment: Outside the Rules. Lilith was the only classy visual in this waste of time. They filmed a Gold Club regional manager counting out fives for the camera. Huh? I swear ESPN makes everything up as they go along. I saw the segment while on a workout machine with its own LCD TV. I switched channels to Bob the Builder with my HR at 132.
Sanderson gets my prize for best upset pick. It shoulda happened.
Worst Superbowl ad: Two disheveled guys parked in a lovers lane eating Subway sandwiches. Might have been funny if one was Troy Aikman. I think Queznos paid for that ad.
