*cough* *cough*

and VP, they do resell their images to porn sites. apnea, kate and a few other models had their photos sold to some punk chick porn site, i forget the name.

SG's non compete contracts were recently made invalid by californian law. doesn't mean they aren't assholes though.

most sites sell their content especially when they close down. thats why im all for earn for play sites like spiceplay.net you own your content and get paid forever whenever someone views it. its less at a time, but more over the long haul.

I did SG back in 2003 and loved it at the time. But it was primarily for the community and the coolness -- the amount of money was not that great. I did meet some great people, however.

I don't think SG offers enough to make it lucrative for someone today, however. There are far too many hoops in the application process and many times you just keep submitting set after set with no good feedback.

When I did it 5 years ago, I interviewed in person with Missy and she shot my first 2 sets. I got to be in the HBO Real Sex episode and I'm in the first SG book. I also have the old-skool panties.

However, I don't really have much attachment to the community now.

I'd just take my own pictures with my own photographers, post them whereever you'd like, and get your cultural cache from somewhere else! :)

I suggest modeling for a more respectable site instead like burningangel.com or godsgirls.com
SG has a history of being a bunch of fucking idiots.

I have expressed interest in doing SG as well but worry that if I do one set with them, they wont let me do anything else for a while. Is it true that they pretty much own you for 5 years?

Also, if I do it, I don't want to pay $500 to some photographer that will be a sleaze ball. Any recommendations for photogs in the Portland, Or area?

I wouldn't recommend trying -- it's a really hard process with a lot of hoops to jump through and it can take over a year for your pics to get posted.

They generally shunt most girls through the 'hopefuls', getting you to post for free. It's better to just work with photographers for the love of it.

I really dont think suicide girls is worth it if you ever want to model for anyone eles or make money.

SG does not want the model to be on any other alt site. They don't want competitors to publish their girls. If you're on another site before your set goes live, they won't publish it. If you're on SG and then show up on another site, they won't publish you anymore.

It is very hard to find a photographer that will shoot you for them as most photogs dont like SG. SG wants copyright to the images. If there's anything from that set, whether it be outtakes or in camera dupes, they don't want them showing up anywhere except SG.

There are many lawsuits against sg, and sg has tried to sue its models. I would do alot of research and thinking before signing any contracts

I have the SG book, which one are you? Missy wanted me to be on the site years ago but I didn't end up doing it, I'm kinda glad I didn't. She was real sweet though.

I vote for burningangel.com as well. They have NON EXCLUSIVITY. As in, you can have your own porn site on the side, or whatever you want. If you go with suicide girls, you will not be allowed to model nude -at all-. Doing so is a violation of their contract.

The exclusivity clause in the SG contract was ruled illegal in court and they had to take it out. That happened about 2 or 3 years ago.

Really? Where at? I've known her online for a long time. We were supposed to get together, but our schedules just never allowed it. :(

I have two different friends who are on the suicidegirls.com website and they both said they get 200 dollars per photo set. That's a bit too little if you really do have to sign an exclusivity clause.

They pay 500?

Sg is pinup style and have had sets rejected for looking too *porn* I find sg to be classier than GG, I dont really want to be on the front page of a site while having a banner with girls getting facials lol

SG isn't really goth OR punk. It's *trendy*.
Go to their site, click "girls"... MAYBE 25% of those girls that popped up for me are even 'alternative'... a few punkISH girls... and ONE semi-goth girl.

Suicide girls = normal "pretty" girls... with a few tattoos, maybe a few piercings, and a trendy hair cut. Playing at pinup is a huge bonus for them... but not really necessary.

IMO - their contract sucked if you're serious at all about modelling... but if you don't mind getting locked down to one place/don't care much for modelling... it's an alright chunk of change if you do well.
*edit*
FFS. I get the point, girl below me. Their contract has apparently changed. You don't need to post about it multiple times.
Unless someone is going to link to the new contract, though? Because you already posted information that isn't necessarily correct above... I'm just going to go by what I remember from their attempt at recruiting me.

Zivity.com is way better than SG, imo... They offer profit sharing and no contracts. Check it out!

I checked it out, it looks pretty cool. I had thought about submitting to SG, but I know I don't have "the look". ::)
