I don't care who I room with, I am bringing along friends......So we'll all probably share a room together unless one other person wants to room with us.

I talked about sharing a room with The_Oceans, but I am unsure if his friends are coming in or not.

/:O Are we supposed to be getting our own tickets to the Jerry show or is someone getting them for the whole group? What day is the group going to the show?

Pumpkin Pie

I was getting it for just three people and getting a fourth simply because the max you can get is four. If we did this as a group, the organizer of this fest ... *cough* Venus *cough* ... would have to contact the show about group tickets. On the bright side, if she told them what profession the women that would be coming are in, they might switch around their topic for that show so the audience could really weigh into it. Then again, Jerry would probably have on the Moral Majority so at least a few chairs are thrown around. *laugh*

I am not going to go to the Springer show. It tapes during the week, and I have my daughter...and no babysitter during the daytime hours...especially during the work week. So, if you all want to go...I'll get the tickets for you and set the day...but I am going to need a solid head count. If you're bringing friends, etc.

So far, I think the count is around 40 (members plus SO's/Friends).

Sooooooo....

This may be out there, but to be honest, i can probably help with the babysitting problem... if anyone needs someone during the day or an evening where i dont feel like going out on the town, i would be happy to watch the little ones while you're in town :) just let me know!

By the way Venus, which W does your friend's friend work at? There are two of them in downtown Chicago:

W Chicago City Center (172 West Adams Street, between Wells & La Salle)

W Chicago Lakeshore (644 North Lake Shore Drive, across from Navy Pier)

Though if we're permitted to lobby, I'd like to suggest the Swissotel (323 East Wacker Drive, across from the Chicago River). It seems to be centrally located, from what I can tell, having never been downtown.

VenusGoddess
03-03-2005, 06:59 PM
He's manager at Lakeshore. ;) Nice views.

I'll do my best and get as much as I can. ;)

BTW...I forgot to mention that I charge 10% of every room booking. Payable in lapdances or cash. heh ;)

Then get ready for the lapdance of your life. I once had a petite dancer start off hers with a flying jump into my lap. *The 245-pound Pumpkin Pie starts huffing this way to Venus and leaps.* BANZAI!!! :bouncey:

Due to more and more a likelihood that I'll be going overseas before then (http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46228 ), I think it would be wise to move me into the asterik column. :-\

:drink: I'm still in!

I would just like to know the status on lodging, so I can tell if I can afford to stay at the same place as everyone else, or will need to find someplace close.

Any new developments on the event, Venus?

I could've sworn I confirmed but, just in case I didn't..
Here is my official confirmation, my girlfriend is still a maybe. Now for accomedations, the W sounds wonderful. I want to be close to all of the happening spots. Count me in for Springer too ! ( I think PP got the tickets already but, I am not for sure)
Also where are the best places to get pizza that Chicago is so famous for ?

You said not to bother due to the possible job in Shanghai so I didn't. As for me making the fest, the Shanghai job is looking like it is a "go" and I might be needing to head over before the fest takes place. I'd put my current asterik status at 25% likelihood and falling. :(

Ok...sorry it's taken so long...I've been soooo busy here:

So far, these are the "rates" I got. I am waiting for the sales managers to call me to negotiate better rates...and a friend of a friend is a manager at the W, so I'm trying to get a better deal there, as well:

*You will need to add 14.9% in taxes to all of the below prices!!*

Suissotel: $259.00/night for 2 Double Beds, $279.00/night for king bed and skyline view

The W: $379.00/night for 2 Double Beds, $775.00/night for King Bed, Lake view *choke, choke*

Holiday Inn: $169.00/night for 2 Doubles, $179 for King

The ones by the airport:

Holiday Inn: $100.00/night for 1 King or 2 Doubles

Spring Hill Suites: $89.00/night 1 King with sleeper sofa or 2 Doubles with sleeper sofa.

If you all give me a better idea of which hotel you would like to stay at...I can definitely block the rooms and get better rates.

Post your final choices here. ;)

VenusGoddess
03-20-2005, 09:09 PM
Farrah, my fave place is Giordanos. There is also a great little Italian Bistro called Tutto Pronto that is right around the corner from the W. The night clubs are not too far from the W, but you'll all still need to cab it.

I can't make it...I talked to my mom and found out that my cousin's wedding is on Saturday, June 25th. :( I'm really bummed-I was looking forward to meeting you all, plus I used to live in Chicago and I know it's a really fun city with lots to do. Oh well, hopefully I can make the next one. I hope everyone who is going has fun.

VenusGoddess

What the hell? Can't your cousin just move the wedding back a week?

How rude!! ;)

J/K

Was hoping that you could make it as well. But, most of the people will be here for close to 5 days...so maybe you could swing out and join us on Sunday? We'll all party at the parade. :D

Every time my wife and I go to Chicago we use priceline.com and have never payed more than $50. Weekends would be more but I would think you could get it cheaper than the reg prices.

VenusGoddess
03-21-2005, 06:46 AM
Yeah, but the majority of these hotels are in the city...right in the heart of the city. Prices will always be more expensive...and then, it's all about the time of the year you go. Prices are higher in the summer since that is the season for tourists in the city. ;)

I'm such a dumbass (but, obviously still a nerd...LOL). I requested 40 tickets to the Jerry Springer show...in June. THEY ARE NOT TAPING IN JUNE!! They tape September - April. At least that's what the gal said who replied to my email request.

So...anyone want to go skinny dipping in Lake Michigan now that we won't be going to the Springer show?

I'm open to other ideas!

Most hotels will allow you to rent out their pool area, especially if they have two pool areas. If we can do that, we can skinnydip there all we like. }:D

Unfortunately for me, due to the likelihood I'll be in Shanghai at that time (my asterik status is now 10% and dropping that I'll make it to SW Fest), I'll likely miss out on the fun. :'( So if you do it, someone take lots of pictures and share them with us unlucky slobs that couldn't make it there. ;D :photos:

Pumpkin must stay at hotels outside the big cities. I'm rather familiar with all the hotels in town--as well as those by O'Hare--and I've never heard such nonesense!

Besides, part of the naughty pleasure of skinny dipping is the risk of being discovered, yes? One doesn't skinny dip at home in the shower, in other words.

VG, do check for hotels with a liberal policy about their pool areas. Some lock them up--with locks!--after a certain hour in the evening. Others have a more wink-and-a-nod attitude. In the old days, the Ramada at O'Hare was such a place. Oh, oh, and before I forget: A hot tub. A frickin' huge hot tub!

Second City is always an idea. Or a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright homes? (Okay, probably too sedatefor this group.) There's always a blues club. My favorites are Green Mill and the more-upscale Green Dolphin.

Time for me to use my purchasing skills and my insomnia for the powers of good :)

I've done a couple of spreadsheets with rates for hotels in the downtown area, and near O'Hare Airport. I've got too many to list, so if you want a copy of the sheets, please PM me with your email address and I'll forward them along later this week.

As y'all know, it's going to be much more to stay downtown than by the airport. Average rate I found downtown was $263/night; average rate by O'Hare was $127/night. And don't forget, this does not include the 14.9% hotel tax that must be added on.

Okay, let me get this straight. First, my very special friend isn't going to be there. Second, there's going to be no Jerry Springer. And as much as I would love hanging out with SW people, my appearance at this SF is starting to look pretty bleak.

Hmmmmmm........Venus, can we do another headcount please? I don't want to go if its all dudes. I wanna meata hot strippa!

I'm all in for salsa/latin music club....I'll teach you all who do not already know!

I'd also be in to see some FLW architecture.

I don't want a hotel with "skinny dipping" allowed or anything. Sexy results always seem to work themselves out with me, no planning needed.......

I wanna go to Ferris Bueller filming spots!

However, you'd better asterix me; I'd love to come and will do my best, but it's far and a big commitment so I'd rather decide for sure closer to the date. I'm feeling squeamish about money this tax season (we file yearly, so it's an extra-painful amount!).

This about says it all. Ditto on Kat.

I'm IN IN IN, but I've had some unexpected bills come up and will need to split a room with someone. Anyone available, please please PM me!!

I am not bringing my baby, a friend or two of mine may join me for a couple of days but not for the whole time, and she/they will be staying with friends who live in Chicago, not at the hotel.

I'm (still) in . However, I would like to see what the head count is too. Hopefully there will be more ladies showing up. Thats who I'm coming to see my fellow strippers. Not a bunch of swinging dicks. Shit I can stay here for that and get PAID !

And ladies, pleeeeease don't cancel now. You're the ones who'll keep SWFest Chicago from being a complete sausage-fest ;)

==========

On another note, any baseball fans? I haven't been to a game in years, and I noticed that the Cubs & White Sox will be playing a three-game interleague series the same weekend, at U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox' home field). Game time is 3:05pm on Friday and Saturday, 2:05pm on Sunday.
