Keep an eye on ( this (http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48617) ) Picture Post thread ;D
Otherwise, my Hustler venue final is tomorrow night ! My venue final for Exotic Angels is not this Friday ... it is next Friday. Therefore I have one venue final this week and one next week.
It kinda hit me last night how I am one step away from the Hustler and Exotic Angels "grand" finals. Just one step. It's exciting and scary at the same time.... more exciting tho' as this is something I have always wanted to achieve/do... once again, I'm entering for the experience and fun.... if I make it into any Grand Finals.... it's a bonus ;) ;D

I was the third entrant that night out of six as three dropped out for the Hustler Gold Coast/Surfers Paradise venue final.
I won one of the mini-titles of Hustler Hottie. I'm thinking that the way they announced the titles and winner.... I basically came runner-up. I say that as one other dancer and myself were left standing... I got the Hustler Hottie mini title and then they announced her as the venue winner.
:( I didn't get thru to the Grand Final.
;D I did do well enough (great, good, fantastic etc) from what I heard from everyone else. I'm glad I entered as it has allowed me to make my Exotic Angels "act" even better as I will learn from my mistakes from this venue final.

I'm still convinced that I came runner-up even tho' they never really "officially" announced me as runner-up. After attending the third heat for the Bad Girls 'Gabba (Brisbane) Exotic Angels.... I have since learnt how to win this competition and maybe even the Hustler Miss Centrefold one. I was sitting one the lap of one of the judges for that event ... just watching the stage, chatting and so forth as another one of the judges that night (as well as the photographer) gave me a ride to that heat.... and he told me basically how to win it.
I would so loooove to say what he told me.... but I'm going to keep it to myself... use this information... and just see if it will enable me to win this venue final happening this Friday (29th).

I have a plan !! (Well, something that resembles one...) :)
Due to the long weekend (Monday is a public holiday).. I'm not going to be able to book any airfares and accom. etc for my really short Melbourne trip (working Friday, Saturday, Sunday) until Tuesday (as I won't be able to deposit the money I need to cover those costs until then)... so I shall be leaving for Melbourne on Thursday instead of Wednesday.
I also have to take into consideration that I am working my final three shifts at Hollywood: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday... thereby ruling leaving on Wednesday out in a way.
My plan is to work at Spearmint Rhino as it is very similiar (although bigger and hopefully better) to Hollywood so I will be used to the 'high class' nature of the place and having to hustle. If I am not accepted at Spearmint Rhino, then I shall work apply for work at Goldfingers.
Either way I am planning to work in Melbourne Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 9th May...
I still don't know really what I'm doing once I come back home tho'. I'm going to give myself a few days after I come back to come up with a plan for the rest of the month esp. May23rd week (due to the centrefold coming out).

All the best GCG! I've heard mostly good things about Spearmint Rhino although 1 of my co-workers in Sydney had her drink spiked by another dancer (s ?) when she was there (she left her (non-alcaholic) drink in the changing room for just a few minutes,) so keep that in mind and you should be sweet! (-: I leave in exactly a week!

I've also heard about the competative-ness of the other dancers at SR... It doesn't faze me as I was prepared for something similiar when I first went to Melbourne last year (look earlier in my "Around Australia" thread in this folder/section)... I'm prepared for it when I go there this week. None-the-less, I'll be friendly without being "overly" friendly.. I tend to keep to myself and allow the other dancers to initiate the "conversation" (as such). I always strive to make myself look non-threaten-ing (as such) .... and give a hellava stage show on stage as I realise there are other dancers watching (as I'm guilty of this) and judging me on my stage show. :) Sometimes I earn respect from a few of the other dancers because they see that I can actually dance
I'm scared and excited at the same time.... not just for my Melbourne trip... for the rest of this month  ;)

My first preference for a club is Spearmint Rhino even if it means I'm a 'day shift' girl (starting 5pm as such)..... if they don't hire me tonight then I'll approach Goldfingers to see if they are hiring... or even Sth Melb. Kittens .... I'm in the CBD this time around (Greenhouse Backpackers). Alot of uncertainty as I didn't get the impression that I would be hired at Spearmint after my really brief "interview" (no questions were asked, I just ended up writing my details down on a piece of paper).
I'm going to send Spearmint a txt message around 7.30pm asking if they would still like for me to come in an audition as well as stating I'm willing to be one of the 'day girls' whilst I'm here in Melbourne (Friday, Sat, Sun and Mon).
The uncertainty sucks. I don't like it. The taurus aspect of myself craves routine and stability.... whilst the scorpio part of myself thrives in times like this (transformation). ARGH! LOL!!!

Hi there fellow aussies,
i am from melbourne and looking at getting back into dancing part time after working briefly at mens gallery here a few years ago.
i have been checking out some of the clubs around here to get an idea of what they are like before i give them ago (its a bit scary coz i havent done it for ages i feel like i wont know what to do!!)
my main criteria is i dont want to work at a club with 'relaxed' rules on touching or one with high contact. mens gallery was great in that sense, but after reading some of these posts it seems they are a lot stricter with podium dances etc than other clubs, when i worked there i thought it was like this everywhere (its the only club i danced at) but it seems worthwhile checking out some of the other clubs.
A friend of a friend works at Bar 20, so we went down there last week to check it. she says its a great club and they get treated well. its good inside, nightclubby kind of atmosphere which i dont mind at all, stage shows looked great, and there were private rooms downstairs callled fantasy rooms as well as the general lap dancing area upstairs. most of the girls were attractive and some were more average, but they seemed nice, smiled a lot and sent off good vibes (not sure if they were only doing this because they thought i was custy or not, maybe if they if they knew i was a potential dancer it would be different ?? :-\ )
overall i liked it, i still want to visit goldfingers to have a look and maybe crystals in brunswick (i live not far from there) before i decide to give it a go.
this site and all the posts have been really , really helpful, i hope if i can help in anyway i will do so.
i will let you know how i go with the other clubs, and keep you all posted ;)

Here's my POV from my brief sojourn into the Melbourne strip club scene:
Mens Gallery - hard work (alot of table dancing) however generally always busy enough to make decent money there even during the 'day shift'. Havn't really heard much bad about the club except that it can be kinda strict on what you can wear....??
I don't know much about MG as I have never worked there.
I have worked at Goldfingers. It does go thru phases of when it is a clean well run club and when the dirty dancers (who allow touching and more to happen) seem to be around (accepted). I personally wasn't affected by the dirty dancers and still made $$. They look after you well enough there.
I have worked at Spearmint Rhino and prefer this club. I just don't prefer it on a Friday or Saturday night... it is too much of a 'head fuck' for me. Too many posers (cheapskates) for me not to mention everyone seems to be working. This isn't a club for a newbie dancer. Only work here if you can hustle/sell as I can guarantee you that the dancers who work here are classy and smart (know how to hustle/sell). Love the club tho'...
I havn't worked Dallas Dancers yet I havn't really heard much bad about it. It's the smallest club on King St.
Bar20.. well.. it is a good club and the dancers are treated well there (or they were when I worked there - check this thread (http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32622))... however it is rumoured to have dirty dancers working there. I personally would only work at this club if you saw yourself working here regularly for the next year or two.
Crystal T's in Brunswick... not everyone's cup of tea and nor is it super lucrative. Alot of dancers from other clubs will work this club Fri/Sat as it's only open Thu, Fri and Sat nights. That can be a problem like it was last time I was there as it had too many dancers and not enough patrons. The bonus is there is no house fee here (for a reason). If you can do shows, all the better as you'll be able to guarantee yourself $50 that way.
Next time I go to Melbourne I'm going to check out 'the circuit' and introduce myself to the right people so then I can possibly do 'shows' during the day whilst working at a club of a night.
I'm no 'expert' by a long shot as I don't plan to go back until November (its the soonest I can plan to go back) however that's what I know about it.
As for relaxed rules on touching and high contact.... Kittens chain of clubs are reknown for its relaxed rules! http://www.kittens.com.au/

hey gold coast girl,
thanks for all your really helpful info.
your right about mens gallery, when i worked there they were very strict on what you wore, DRESSES ONLY!! which was a bit of a pain. i think they wanted to uphold a really classy image for the girls and the club, but i think over the years they have lost a bit of their popularity to some of the other king street clubs from what i hear.
i understand what you are saying about goldfingers, i have heard the exact same thing from friends, but was thinking id go past and see whehter it was by any chance in the middle of a really clean phase!!
i liked Bar 20, but will scope out some of the other places first. as for extras / dirty dancers the girl who i know that works there didnt mention any but then again she hasnt been there very long and i dont know her all that well.
i guess it is everywhere, just in some places more accepted than others.
i had no idea crystal t's was only open on those days, i thought it would be convenient for me to try it out for weekdays/nights since its near me. waht are the girls and customers there like?
i only know of one other melbourne club thats in the outer suburbs - Hot Spot in campbellfield...not my cup of tea!
the place is really shabby inside and crowd / atmosphere was really limp, they advertise in the paper for dancers almost every week. they got closed down for prostitution charges awhile ago and closed down for awhile, :O that just put me off ever giving it a go.
as for the kittens clubs ive heard what they are like so im not going to check them out. i dont have an issue with it but just dont feel comfortable with that level of contact right now, especially since im jsut starting out again.
if you are in melbourne and listen to nova 100 on the radio they had a recent event /competition where they held a bucks party at kittens and the guys raved about it!
i forgot all about dallas dancers, might pay them a visit too.
thanks again for all your really helpful info gold coast girl, i will keep this thread updated on how i go! ;)

The dress code at MGs was thanks to me being able to get a hold of 'the manual' mermaidnz passed onto me when she checked it out for Grand Prix. She didn't like how they treated her during the 'tour' so she was turned off the place. It was more like you can only wear this type of dress not this and not this type of dress (ie no mesh or animal print etc).
At least Rhino is a bit more relaxed even tho' they want classy elegant costumes/outfits.
As for Crystal T's... the King St clubs are busier generally than this club (from my limited experience). It is a kewl club to work within as the dancers are friendly and so is the management... the custys are kewl enough... I don't see them as any different from any other type of custy at any other place (so I can't say if they are better or worse).
I say stick with the King St clubs for the time being. :)

What was up with the SEAZBALL barman @ Showgirls (the middle easten looking guy with the grey hair & mo). When my mates & I complained (many times during the night) about him the club did nothing plus random dancers were coming up to us saying "He's a nasty fucking sleazball", "He does it to all the girls, dancers & customers"
If this is the case WHY dont they fire him. Its gonna prove VERY BAD for buisness in the long run :thumbsdow:

Yeah the barman is a sleeze but I doubt he'll get fired since he hasn't been yet and he's been there for a while now. I knew exactly who you were talking about as soon as you said sleeze! He's actually ok to me, I think it's mostly new waitresses and dancers who he hasstles, I guess everyone finds their own way to deal with him. The other barman is lovely - short guy who looks like he belongs in the munsters.
i work at mens gallery in melbourne. yes it is intimidating at first but once u get used to the amount of people and girls theres some really good money to be made. apparently melb is alot harder than it used to be- simply because there are so many clubs for patrons to choose from now. but mg's has a rep of being the classiest and busiest in melb- ive heard that from customers many a time. i think any club will be scary at first. i tried a smaller club first to get the idea and then moved to mg's. i also tried spearmint rhino and absolutely hated it. my advice is dont feel like u cant try a few different ones, but go for classy rather than slutty like kittens etc. u will get used to it pretty quick. good luck!!

Where js failed at SR.. I'm doing really well. Also, MGs in Melbourne tends to attract a younger crowd generally. Yes it is classy and busy ... however the same can be said of SR.
Then there are dancers who love working at Goldies... and other at the Kittens clubs or where have you. Crystal Ts is even starting to be a place to try out.
In the end, you have to give most of the clubs a go so you can find the one that you personally like working within... that's why there are so many... however it isn't hard. I see Melbourne as easy money except in Winter.

go for classy rather than slutty like kittens etc.
Actually, Kittens can be a wonderful place to work if you learn how to use it's rules to your advantage. It's not the horrible, sleazy, slutty place that every one imagines... yes, there are slutty dancers, but you can find them in any club, not just Kittens.
The level of contact in Kittens is clearly outlined and enforced, and exactly how much of that contact you allow is entirely up to the individual.
It appears that most people on this board waste no time in declaring just how horrid Kittens is, yet I really don't know of any other dancer who has worked there themselves.
If you are not used to/comfortable with 'med/high contact', then this is not the club for you. However, there are a lot of positive things about Kittens:
- There are three different Kittens venues, and you are free to move about and dance in any of them. Frankston in the largest, Caulfield the smallest and South Melbourne the newest.
- It can be very easy to sell dances thanks to the level of contact permitted. Also, due to the out of the way locations, people who come to Kittens have rarely made the trip there just to 'take a look' or 'have a drink'... they want dances!
- Each of the clubs close at 3:00am, so if you are not the type who likes working 'till 7:00am it's very convenient.
- If you are the type of dancer who likes to develop a lot of regular customers this is a very good club for it. You can also provide a good 'girlfriend experience' and perform more intimate dances because of the contact rules.
I no longer work at Kittens because working nights drives me insane, and I found a club that I could work days at. But I still maintain that they are a really good chain of clubs to work at, and people need to stop relying on second, third and fourth hand accounts of some places!
If any one else has worked at Kittens and found it to be a bad experience please make a post about it. That way any one who has not worked at Kittens but is considering it can be armed with as much information as possible to make their decision.

I couldn't agree more! Even tho' I personally wouldn't work at Kittens as I do well enough at SR... I havn't crossed it off my list. I learnt a long time ago that it is best for me to find out for myself what a club is REALLY like before listening to other dancers and their opinions of certain clubs.
Plus.. the more information anyone has about any clubs - the good, bad and indifferent... the better everyone is informed about that or those clubs.

Minx has gone to the crapper in Brisbane. Apparantly all the girls are leaving and heading for Velvet Cigar - which means two things. You can maybe earn money at Minx being one of the only girls there or Velvet will fill up and be a craphole for money.
BUT Billy (owner of Velvet) hates dancers that come from other clubs that are his nemesis, and with the selling of Minx to Hooters, he's going to know girls are going to come down. He'll probably turn them all away.

I don't 'love' being a skimpy yet it is definately a hell of a lot better to be guaranteed a certain amount of $$ due to the per hour wage as well as enable you to receive tips.... hard work .. yes... yet well worth it during (what seems to be) these slower months. This is what I'm doing from now on during 'winter' as it seems to be slow everywhere stripping-wise (be it private party or clubs).
At least I will be guaranteed something for my time even it if it only $25 per hour and some bookings aren't that lucrative (tip-wise).
