That rumour about Spearmint Rhino opening in either Brisbane or Gold Coast has been circulating for what seems forever .... I'll know more when I finally go back to Rhino later this year.

OMG Minx sold to Hooters? that means Universal Lounge, Hooters and Minx are owned by the one owner 8-0 but that would mean that her will make it crap just like the rules at Universal and Hooters - to which are really strict, and they take huge commissions

Are you at Velvet Cigar Lilth?

Lysondra

Yes I'm at Velvet Cigar. But I'm leaving for America in two days. I'm coming back July 5th (leaving 3rd). So that's why I haven't been working.

And Minx to Hooters - BIG THING.

GoldCoastGirl

Are you deadly sure that Universal Lounge, Minx, Hooter and now VC are owned by the same owner ?? I just ask this due to the rivalry between Minx and VC ....and how alot of those clubs won't accept girls defecting... wouldn't having the same owner then enable the dancers to be able to work at any of the clubs instead of just exclusively at one club?

I'm thinking along the lines of the three clubs in Sydney as well as when Santa Fe Gold and Bad Girls were owned by the same owner (girls were able to work at one or the other or both).

It's a huge thing if they are all owned by the same owner. It will mean s/he'll have a monopoly going (as such) since Minx and VC are generally regarded as top clubs.

[Are you serious Lilithmorgan Queensland is the skimpy capital! I'm from Melbourne but I went to Townsville to work for 6 months and half my work was skimpy! I don't know what the laws in QLD are like now but when I was working there was a no g-strings off rule in pubs so the best way for me to make money was to offer them 2hrs of skimpy work followed by a jug show. It's the best cause you serve the guys drinks in lingerie or topless (if they pay) and chat for 2 hrs so by the time showtime comes around they feel like they know you and of course they love you so they throw money in the jug like there's no tomorrow. I was doing 2-300 dollar jugs up there along with the 100 dollars for the bar work. You need to have some idea what you're doing behind a bar, pouring beer is an advantage and have a friendly personality cause you do have to talk to the guys a bit (tips, tips, tips!) but if you go into pubs that have strip shows they will more often than not have skimpies and some clubs will have skimpy waitresses. Otherwise find a decent agency and you'll find they are always looking for skimpy/topless girls as most of them start dancing a then don't want to do it anymore. Good Luck, it can be really great money if you know how to work a crowd. ;)

Hey there, have had a look over your photos ,you look gorgeous and with the cheecky little grin you will do really well on the gold coast.Players is verymuch a family run business and run by ladies so theres no sleeze factor by the staff.Ask to see beck if your up there and make sure you bring your ID and im sure she will let you start straight away.Club mobile is 0400828600 and you can call between 3pm-5am.
Kind regards Lisa

Okay, I'm starting at Players after a very very very very long hiatus from this club. There was many a time I said that I wouldn't go back to this club unless a few things changed (such as increasing the percentage to the dancers' advantage)... supposedly one of the things I wanted so desparately to change about this club has changed - they seem more relaxed about my schedule there! I'm only working two nights instead of the what used to be compulsory four nights... that's all I'm going to do as that is all I probably will be able to handle for the time being.

Regardless, I will definately be posting an update in the reviews section about this particular club. I'm planning to work Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Otherwise, in re: skimpy work in Queensland.... which agencies have the better bookings ? I know Catharine's on the gold coast (agency) books Biloela for skimpy work (incl. the jug dance you spoke about) however I won't do that booking until my car is up to such a long travel (6 hours of travel)... I am totally interested esp. if they are willing to provide me the same "deal" I get in re: skimpy work in WA (one meal a day free, accommodation paid for as well as travel to/from the booking from a main city/town).

*sigh* Update to my Players thing. Not happening. Doubt it ever will as they tend to judge people on their past indiscretions ...even if that happened over two years ago... *sigh* What ticks me off about the whole thing is that they had "discussions" about me working there again without including me (the subject in question). I just don't feel it was fair treatment without at least approaching me with the problems that they thought they were going to have... and so forth.

As for Spearmint Rhino opening up in Queensland: supposedly here on the Gold Coast and it's planning to be open "over the summer" now (it's still having trouble acquiring a liquor license supposedly that's what keeps delay-ing them).

HEy ladies.

I work in Sydney as a dancer and i work at Pure Platinum, Mens and Dancer Cab.

This is some info: There Not the only clubs to work at obviously. These 3 particular are owned by the same guy. there really nice i guess.

Minx is a club in sydney, its extra classy and attracts a business crown.

Bada Bing is a club which is good cash at Kings Cross. Fairly new.

All other clubs i would not rate that much but if your making money go for it.

WE also have restaurants which you waitress. they have feature shows and then you do private showz.. Good $$$$$$$$$

Anything else let me know im a wiz at them places. None of these are Brothells

VC is NOT owned by MINX, HOOTERS AND UNIVERSAL!

As far as I know VC is independant still!!!

Hi girls!

I just very resently moved to Australia, Brisbane from overseas and I've been wondering how to get into this business here...

I have no previous experiense, but I think I could work behind the bar in some clubs first, since that I have done before. Do you have any recommendations where it'd be good to apply? I noticed as I walked past showgirls today on queen st they are looking for staff but how is that place? Seems a bit weird they have 2x2m adds on windows for positions...?

How does just working the bar in a club pay here?

Okay, it'd be nice to hear your outlook on this, thanks a lot:)

It's called the SEARCH function ;) also you may want to have a read of a similiar thread in the Other Work section as what was said there pretty much applies to the QLD strip clubs as well.

As for dancing within the local strip clubs, you are best to visit all the clubs on your list as a patron first and foremost. If you don't enjoy the club as a patron, you won't enjoy it as a dancer.

Have you thought about doing private party/agency work instead of club work? It's starting to get into the busy season for this sort of work. Look into and search the Private Dancing forum for more information there.

Feel free to PM or email me questions.

Do NOT work at Show girls in the city. I did a review on them. Velvet is the classy one, Minx was sold recently so we'll see and anything IN the mall is trashy.

Hi to the two new girls and welcome to the board (-:
I work in Sydney at Showgirls but I live in Queensland and havent worked up that way for over a year now...

To be honest I find the search feature doesn't always work very well. There are more than a few Aussie threads here though and reviews of clubs here in the clubs & reviews section, although some could be a touch out of date by now as situations in strip clubs can turn around quite quickly I find anyway...

Actually, Kittens can be a wonderful place to work if you learn how to use it's rules to your advantage. It's not the horrible, sleazy, slutty place that every one imagines... yes, there are slutty dancers, but you can find them in any club, not just Kittens.
The level of contact in Kittens is clearly outlined and enforced, and exactly how much of that contact you allow is entirely up to the individual.

It appears that most people on this board waste no time in declaring just how horrid Kittens is, yet I really don't know of any other dancer who has worked there themselves.

If you are not used to/comfortable with 'med/high contact', then this is not the club for you. However, there are a lot of positive things about Kittens:

- There are three different Kittens venues, and you are free to move about and dance in any of them. Frankston in the largest, Caulfield the smallest and South Melbourne the newest.

- It can be very easy to sell dances thanks to the level of contact permitted. Also, due to the out of the way locations, people who come to Kittens have rarely made the trip there just to 'take a look' or 'have a drink'... they want dances!

- Each of the clubs close at 3:00am, so if you are not the type who likes working 'till 7:00am it's very convenient.

- If you are the type of dancer who likes to develop a lot of regular customers this is a very good club for it. You can also provide a good 'girlfriend experience' and perform more intimate dances because of the contact rules.

I no longer work at Kittens because working nights drives me insane, and I found a club that I could work days at. But I still maintain that they are a really good chain of clubs to work at, and people need to stop relying on second, third and fourth hand accounts of some places!

If any one else has worked at Kittens and found it to be a bad experience please make a post about it. That way any one who has not worked at Kittens but is considering it can be armed with as much information as possible to make their decision.

I agree completely. I've worked at all three Kittens and I loved it.

By the way, I think I know you from Club X.

Is anyone actually working on the Gold Coast right now? How busy are the Orchid Av clubs these days? Does anyone know the house fees for Crazy Horse over Indy week?
Oh and what about that resturant place? The name has totally slipped my mind - the one at Southport... what's that like over Indy?

GoldCoastGirl

The Boardroom is the restaurant and I have heard that they are picky any time of year let alone Indy. As for Crazy Horse.. well.. as it is every year it will be crazy. It is a SMALL club and really can't handle the extra patronage as well as dancers from what I have heard.

Whilst my information isn't current I did realise after doing four Indys that the only real way to make money is to have regulars otherwise it can be hit or miss due to the influx of other girls who are purely working Indy (and they may not be as "ethical" as such)..... as well as the fact that there isn't "one" top club anymore. There are two: Players and Hollywood Showgirls. Crazy Horse is also very popular yet it is awefully crazy to work there over Indy (do a search for INDY in Club Chat here to have a read of an older thread with information - I doubt nothing much has changed).

In the end, if you really want to work Indy.... You could dabble into the private party arena as a topless waitress. I did that purely last Indy (only topless)... and charged $200-300 extra at each booking to just stand around nude (and got myself a nice all over tan whilst at it). I had a great time, got an all over tan and was just $100 shy of cracking $1000 after the agency fees had been taken (that's a bummer yet I'm not in a position to do this by myself).

Out of all the bookings I did over Indy (only two days as well)... only one was a little scary and hence I left very very early (young guys and alcohol do not mix - they had trashed the hotel room and were brawling "for fun" in the room so I got my money.. hung around for 10 minutes on the balcony mainly and then left).

I plan on staying home for Indy. All the girls are going there, who's going to stay at home and watch all the guys? Ha. Reminds me of the week all the girls went to Rocky. There were so many girls there that they averaged a hundred dollars. I stayed back and averaged four a night. Which is how it goes on events.

Yeah I usually avoid Indy and events but it looks like Ill be in Qld at the time and plus there could be an event or two I want to go to. My first Indy was terrible, my second fairly good - but I prefur to do the Thurs and Sun shifts rather than work all week or do the weekends. If my old club was still open Id go back there but its gone. I have no desire to do waitressing or anything, I just cant be that arsed, lol.

When and why the hell did they go to ROCKHAMPTON? That club (Teaze) can only handle 5-6 girls per night comfortably so that everyone can make decent money. Are you telling me that they all managed to find accommodation in Rocky and work at Teaze ? Or did they work somewhere else ??

As for Indy. The guys are going to Indy as well. Some people use that time of year as their annual time away from home as such. It might work for you. Just that, unlike Rockhampton, the Gold Coast is not that far away.

Then again, I always hear how every year any businesses outside the Main Beach, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach area do not benefit from Indy. Just another day for all of them. You really wouldn't know Indy was on if you were in Coolangatta

I forgot to mention that there is always Hooters. Even at THAT time of year that club is busy ... no kidding. Not everyone has accom. on track. I did a gig in Budds Beach topless waitressing last Indy ... that is definately not "track side"

Yeah, for some reason DOZENS of girls were flocking to Rockhampton a couple months ago. I stayed behind, they made shit, I banked. Whatever. :P I have NO IDEA why they went. It was around the time of the miners incident. Ooookay.

:P

And most of the boys that come to my club are elderly gentlemen who hate crowds. So they're all MINE!

I've heard that the Hooters location (whatever club happens to be there at the time, lol) works well over Indy. Hmm, I dont know...
And its definatly true about the rest of the coast not benefiting by Indy - thats a good thing in a way though - good for everyone who wants to avoid Indy :-D

I'm reading this thread very intently.
I'm a frequent customer at Kittens.
Most of the girls do ok... my friend works in Elsternwick, she said that the worst that she did was $260 i think.

But one night i was there and it was incredibly sick. The crowd was hollering and slamming on the podium. And sticking their faces right on the girl's arse.
I dont' think i can handle working in Kittens.. namely cos my friends go there.. and two the contact would really do my head in.

^^^ Rule of thumb with the clubs: When they say "I will ring you" do not wait for them to ring you. Always ring them. Believe me ALWAYS ring them. It isn't a desparation thing or anything just that, from my personal experience, the clubs can be 'flakey' that way. They usually have a million other things on their mind besides ringing you back. When you do call them back ... give it 2 nights at the very least.
