It sounds like you did pretty good for your first night. I'm interested to hear how it goes as you work more.

Yeah, I noticed the club got packed around 11pm. It's funny when a dancer gets all wild with a female patron who is with a bunch of guy friends :) The guys go crazy :D . I think I'll work the early shift on Friday so I can dance on stage a few times before it gets busy. I'm really not comfortable on stage yet. If I want to stay later, would they let me?

Yes. You MUST work your entire shift (say 6pm-2am) however, if you decide to stay longer, you can. The nice thing about going in earlier, is that the house fee is much lower. It just makes for a long night.
You can also really sit back and watch the other dancers and what they do. It'll help give you ideas to what is done on stage...then dance accordingly. ;)
hope tomorrow goes as well for me as monday went for you!
It's nice to read about someone else just starting out. Meet any prospective regulars yet? I wonder how long it takes for that to happen... It might be nice to just see a familetr face, even if their paying for the time :P;D

Congratz once again, The pole will come later-keep in mind the Stage is very important because it is like a commercial for you. Take it one day at a time, set your goals high but dont set them too high because that will be disapointment. Try $100 more than you did on your first night and then you will be happy if you get more, there will be good days and bad days-but it will all even out in the end.

Hey Kai,
I think I did meet a prospective regular :) Most of the guys I talked to were very nice, but I did meet two creeps.
SI - My goal is to make $100 more than I did my first night :) I didn't hustle at all my first night; guys just asked me for dances when they saw me sitting or walking around. I am working the day shift this Friday, so I'm really gonna have to work it if I want to make some good money.

Shannon, have you tried the Silver Slipper Saloon in Ottowa, outside of Chicago. My bf has been there and he said it was awesome. He said it probably wasn't the niceset looking place he's been to, but it was packed and had nice looking women.

I'm new at this, i've never danced before, but i want to start, but i haven't even been up there yet and i already feel what this poor girl feels (btw, you go girl, keep it up! you'll make it, you're gorgeous and sounds like you've got spunk)
But you mentioned going to clubs and watching... are there other ways to learn? are the "videos" any good? and how often do you see some young cute embarrassed girl in a club by herself obviously trying to learn something?

hey, shannon, if it makes you feel better, i'll put in my dreadlock extensions, wear a black tutu and diving flippers and trapsy around on stage with you. you'll do fine then...
