This is my lesson learned on why not to date a custy. Things dont go the way as planned and then he gets angry or frustrated, and then decides to use your job against you by calling you "stupid" "Flaky" or even worse "whore".
Example:
"BTW i've only met two or three entertainers that understood their job.Why would i want to date a flake?" Lurker_001
Its crap like that that i cant stand men saying. they get blown off by a stripper and suddenly she's a flake who doesnt understand her job.
Or she's a stupid whore cunt bag....(i had an ex say that to me once when we got in a fight about my job. we had been together a year b4 i even started dancing. He wasnt even a custy. why do men like to turn this around on you? )

Maybe he was just being honest. Did you jerk him around or something?

Ok, I do see three dancers outside of work. All the relationships are friendly only, (Although one is definitely moving towards being a bit more than friendly, more at the dancer's instigation than mine - although I'm not complaining in the slightest.)
Never really set out to have OTC friendships with any of them - we just drifted into it. What strikes me about the relationships is the mutual respect involved. I treat them as well as I know how, and get similar treatment in return.
Simple example; one is studying for a degree, so I give up a fair bit of time to help her with her chemistry and her maths. She's a superb cook and insists on doing me meals at regular intervals. Both of us enjoy helping the other out, and the only reason for that is friendship.
I do catch up with the dancers while they're working, but more normally find a quiet spot at the back of the venue where we can chat between her doing dances - both they and I find it increasingly uncomfortable it I pay too much attention while they're nude.
I can understand why Colleen put up her points. Even though they are humorous, there’s more than a little truth in them. Reading between the lines, most custy's who ask dancers out are more interested in stereotypes than the individual - the "I want to date a dancer" syndrome. I've always had the attitude that "I have friends who are dancers", not "I know dancers as friends" - there's a big difference between the two.
I'm realistic enough not to discuss how these girls earn a living with my more conventional friends - as far as they know they work in pubs, as a secretary etc. I personally have no problems with how they earn a living, but the world is full of people with prejudices.
That said, my life is richer for the friendships I've formed with these dancers - and I'd like to think they feel their lives are little more enjoyable for knowing me.

OK, what about someone that dates an ex-dancer that he met at a club? ;) I guess that is ok then? Oh and btw, she has apologized numerous times for being a flake to me! I have never once called her a flake, but she calls herself one. I don't know where this fits in the topic, but it is interesting.

Gentlemen, gentlemen.
This is a dancer support site. We are guests here. Please remember both of these points when you feel the overwhelming urge to post a comment that could be misunderstood at best, or could come across as rude and arrogant, at worst.
