not even close.
Astrology is not so much about "the stars" as it is how planetary bodies exert their influence (energy) upon us. This is scientifically measurable fact. For example, the human body is 75% water. The moons electromagnetic energy affects water on earth, ie;tides. Do you see how the moons energy could have an effect upon us? There is a measurable energy felt on earth for all planetary bodies, and Astrology is the art of interpreting how it affects us and what it means.
I mean you personally no disrespect. However. This damned "pop science" is degrading our brains' ability to reason based on reality, as well as our standard of living in the world economy.
As a person who has studied both physics and cosmology, I will tell you that if there is any influence from planets, it is not their electromagnetic energy, but rather their gravitational fields. However, except for the moon and the sun, the influence of the remaining planets in this solar system is not any larger than the gravitational influence of a large mountain if you live nearby.
A measurable energy? I guess you mean gravitational pull.
Are you saying that gravitational influences on the order of that of the tides affect the water in our bodies differently than its affect on other matierials composing us? Or the nearby soil and rocks for that matter?
As I'm sure you're well aware, the Zodiac signs are patterns in the position of nearby but otherwise unrelated stars, not planets. If you are talking planets having gravitational effects, then the stars are even more negligible.
In any case the positions of the stars or planets in relations to the position of your mother at the instant you popped out of hiding in there cannot possibly have any relevance to your life over a whole lifetime. But that mountain can.
