Well this concept has worked everywhere i started it so i thought i might give it a shot here. It's pretty simple, just name a song that caught your attention or you've listened to repeatedly. If you like you may explain your choice.

Today i'm going with Cygnus....Vismund Cygnus by The Mars Volta.

This song is from an album (titled "Frances The Mute") that isn't incredibly accessible to everybody because of the length of most of the songs....for example the last song clocks in at 32:32.This band might remind some people of 70s prog-rock with a influence of Led Zeppelin and latino music.

Planet Caravan. Black Sabbath.

Space Lord. Monster Magnet.

I have Francis the Mute, not sure how I feel about it since all the songs end in such a crappy fashion. I can't listen to 10 minutes of white noise..........

I forgot - the implied sexuality in the live version of "Europa" in Viva Santana -
the dynamics of "Green Grass and High Tides" by the Outlaws -
rawness of "Love (Reign O'er Me)" off of the Who's Quadrophenia -
And a more popular one, "Jessica," by the Allman Brothers for the pure joy of the song.

I wholeheartedly agree. I wore a groove through that CD. I also have to give an honorable mention to my jam Baby Got Back. When that came out you would have thought a winning lottery ticket was lost on the dance floor.

Where Did You Sleep Last Night ? by Nirvana.

Kurt never sounded as great as he did while he was singing that during their unplugged show.

No kidding. Almost all of the tracks off that CD were great stuff.

Right now, the song of note is Metallica's Outlaw Torn from their CD S & M. S & M was the band doing a series of shows with the San Francisco Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Michael Kamen. Great stuff.

From the O.S from the movie "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou".Jorge starred in the film and covered a couple of Bowie songs in Portuguese.

The Land of Sunshine by Faith No More

Opening track from the Angel Dust CD...awesome,awesome album that came out in 1992 but still sounds great today IMO.

Blackhawk, Hole In My Heart, from the Love & Gravity album.

C&W sadness at its best. When you think it's over and gone, it comes back out of nowhere. When I play it, I always repeat it 3-4 times.
