As if testerone is some sort of truth serum that renders them incapable of any self control whatsoever.
Wait, run that by me again... It's not?

sorry, still havent learned how to do quote think properly:)
"1.) Look how many of our customers act. Just like rusdancer pointed out, "like wild animals." So while I don't condone stereotyping, the way the vast majority acts has a lot ot do with the way we talk about the vast majority."
yeah, I totally understand. I always cringe when I see the drunken business guys with the big smelly cigars or the rowdy frat guys harrassing the girls. What amuses me is that they think they are in charge when in reality the girls are playing THEM. I always thought "good Gawd, she's not buying that load of crap is she?" And thanks to stumbling upon this site, I she is not:D
Havent been to SC in over a year, but am taking notes from this site in case I ever go back.

Not to worry. Customers never learn. Hard sell, soft sell––they want to be sold, they need to be sold. However...you might discourage your customers from reading that Cheetahs Las Vegas book (strippedbook.com). That boy tears them (customers) a new one. Funny as hell though.

Sorry, Bystander. I didn't mean to be pissy. I mis read your post to mean that you thought customers could do any damn thing they wanted to us, just because they paid us. I encounter that a lot, and as you can probably understand, it drives me NUTS!
As for us some of our posts making you think we see our customers as meat, here are 2 things for you to think about.
1.) Look how many of our customers act. Just like rusdancer pointed out, "like wild animals." So while I don't condone stereotyping, the way the vast majority acts has a lot ot do with the way we talk about the vast majority.
2.) Phrases like "moving in for the kill" are common among SALES PROFESSIONALS of all types. I have done a lot of work in retail (sales and management) and direct sales, was engaged to a retail salesman, am the daughter of a wholesale salesman, and am the granddaughter of a retail sales manager. I have read a mountain of sales books and attended a bunch of seminars/trainings/pep rallies. I can tell you that this is not "dancers treating customers like meat" it is SALES LANGUAGE. In fact, the "Fish in a barrel" comment was made by a prefessional sales trainer who teaches dancers (and real estate professionals) how to sell.
And, rusdancer, I just had this issue with a guy trying to grab my boob. I pushed him away, he did it again. And again...and AGAIN! I finally got exasperated, stoppped the dance, and said to him, "If you were on a date with a girl and she pushed your hand away like that, would you keep trying?" "Uh, no." he said. "OK, then. Same rule applies here!" Even though I tried to be nice about it, it really ruined his whole day!
I wonder if they really think of it as degrading, or if they just think that the normal social rules don't apply. For instance, you normally would not get the chance to stick your tongue in a complete stranger's ear, or blow on the butt of a woman walking down the street. But then, you don't normally see a woman in a g-string hanging upside down from a pole, either. I perfer to think they really don't understand where the fantasy/reality line actually lies, not that they are purposely crossing it.
Of course, some men think that the fact they are horny is an excuse for whatever else they want to do. As if testerone is some sort of truth serum that renders them incapable of any self control whatsoever.
Colleen,I totally agree with you, they don't see a naked woman on a pole in a regular bar, sure.BUT we are still women, and should be treated with respect no matter what, doesn't matter who or where we are.Besides other things, good manners and conciousness is what separates humans from the animal kingdom.I think we all would love to see real gentlemen, any testosterone level, at work. When they are nice to us,we are happy, very nice to them also, and infact, give them better dances. That way everybody is happy and work is easier.

That is so true! When the guys are nice to us, I always have a bettter time and work harder to give a better dance. But there has been a general decline in good manners in this country over the past several decades and as one of my co-workers once said, "people just act like they have no home training whatsoever." In a world of increasing rudeness and and fewer sociatal restraints, it is not surprising that in strip clubs rude and thoughtless behavior is exaggerated.
Sad, but not surprising.

On behalf of the mail species let me be the one to apologize for the jerks out there who obviously do not look upon you as ladies to be respected in your profession but rather objects to be used. I had a friend once who frequented the clubs in a nightly basis and did this stuff to the ladies and thought it was great. I asked him about their reactions and pretty much got the same responses all of you have posted here. He was even thrown out of a few clubs for this. I asked him if he had ever tried just letting them give him a good dance and not abuse the situation. He did and discovered how much better his dancers were to him. I personally have not been in a club since I was 16, (I'm 39 now), but if I ever get brave enough to go at least one of you will get a customer who will be there to appreciate the true art of the dance
