and really that covers it in a nutshell now doesn't it.... me well, I happen to care. So before you purchase a product, you investigate the wages paid by the manufacturer and his suppliers to make sure they are high enough? Then you compute the pollution output of the plant the product was manufactured at along with the pollution output of all the plants where the packaging was made to make sure they are within acceptable limits? Then you investigate the processes by which the raw materials were harvested, to insure they are "sustainable"? Wow, how long does it take you to buy groceries using that method?

Destiny, doesn't take long..the information is out there (often on the package, since these are GREAT selling points)
Co-Op America has info, as do many other places.
And even if all you do is let companies know you want THEIR product to be better...that's a BIG step
FYI..MARCAL paper products (along with green forest, et al) are" paper made from paper" which is a great, instant and NO PRICE CHANGE way to begin balancing life. After all, do your toilet paper and paper towels really NEED to be from new trees?

For the LAST time..I'm not definable as "environmentalist" and don't go to any such meetings...do you go to meetings of the shortsighted?
Destiny...if the consumer won't pay the real price for a product, and society and the workers and their families won't subsidize it, then the company goes out of business. BUT...if the consumer wants/needs/think they need the product, they will pay the cost...that's capitalism.
Free market, not subsidized market.
Why don't you want that?
