Reviving this thread. Toy Box (formerly known as Hooters) is still looking for girls as I received a text the other day in regards to it. Same fee structure as mentioned previously in this thread. I have no idea if it is worth jumping clubs to there since its location is its downfall (usually) plus the location of the lap dance area in the club also doesn't help (you have to go down the main stairs, past the reception near the front door/entrance of the club (as such) before going to the private lap dance area).
There is no VIP area as far as I am aware just the main floor (up stairs) and the private lap dance area (down stairs).
I also "heard" (unless someone can confirm for me) that they do something similiar to Crazy Horse where after the first song the girl is topless and goes around the room to hustle for tips for an up to one minute topless dance as such (no touching of course).
As much as my current GC club is frustrating me I figure I am much better off overall here than at Toy Box (formerly known as Hooters) at the moment.
I'm also reviving this thread because I am after any and all information (even if it is heresay) anyone can share with me about possibly working at The Boardroom in Southport. I heard that they book the showgirls direct (not thru any agent - thru the girls themselves) ........ is this true? Also, what about the normal house girls .... is there lap dancing there ? What are the prices and so on and so forth.
ANY INFORMATION about The Boardroom ???

I also received it. I have sent them my details and photos etc. We'll see what comes of it. I'm doing it out of curiosity to see what they will be like as an agency and/or if it will enable me to get more information about the club itself as people do ask me about it and I know nothing.

Oh btw, stay the hell away from Players if you can if possible. ;)
Crazy Horse isn't as bad as people make it out to be ... it can be good money potential there.
I'm going to check out The Boardroom ( http://www.theboardroom.com.au/Opportunities.aspx ) as a possibility even tho' it is primarily open during the day. I'm going to see if I can acquire a showgirl as well as entertainer package sort of deal there if possible.

Well, spoke with The Boardroom today. I will work their State of Origin event tomorrow night as an entertainer (house girl) to get a feel for the place. As an entertainer it costs me $50 to work, all money earnt is mine to keep. No dress restrictions except that my footwear must have stiletto heels (even boots).
It should be a good night as it is an open bar thus the guys don't need to spend money on drinks only me (or the dancers). We'll see how it goes...

Done. Worked the State of Origin at The Boardroom in Southport. Started 7pm and finished just after 11pm. I worked as an entertainer this time around - no showgirl work. The highlights was the fact that the NSW team won (go the blues!) and I was well fed! Seriously well fed ....prawns, callamari rings, fish pieces, honey and soy chicken, vegie spring rolls.... so that helped.
As for money, I would only work as an entertainer at this joint if I was taken on as a showgirl. That's (at least) $50 extra earnt (even tho' a showgirl is paid $100 - as $50 of that $100 would cover the "entertainer fee" as such). Tonight I managed to skip out of it and they didn't really persue me to get the fee at all through-out the night.
Plus you get to set your own lap dance prices! I'm not kidding!
I pretty much offered $50 for full nude no touching. $70 (thus $20 extra) for full nude touching. 3 songs. I managed to sell one touching nude and one no touching nude dance yet only after the game had finished.
I really did enjoy myself. Loved how it wasn't high pressure. Loved how I got to set my own prices. Just wish it was more lucrative and I was a showgirl as that would have meant an extra $100 for me that night (since I didn't get charged the "entertainer fee").
EDIT TO ADD -- They did give me a call later today asking for the $50 fee. I also was supposed to find Amber or Mark to ask to go instead of just going like I did. Ooops. Well, they invited me to work a couple of hours over lunch tomorrow and I accepted as an entertainer. Why the hell not? It will be interesting to see how it goes. I do want to be a showgirl there not an entertainer tho'. If they keep having be an entertainer and not a showgirl I'll have to "put my foot down" as I had being fucked around. Life is too short.

Thanks for the review!

I will be in Darwin from 9th for three weeks so no. I will give it another go tomorrow lunch (Friday lunch) to see what it is like at that time and if it is worth working at all as an "entertainer" there. Now that I "owe" $100 in fees ($50 state of origin night fee, $50 friday lunch fee) it BETTER be worth working there ! Otherwise I'm going to put my foot down when I return from Darwin and inform them nicely that I originally applied as a showgirl and if they aren't interested in giving me some shows per week then I'm not interested in working there at all.
I would be fine working as an entertainer if they gave me some shows to off-set the $50 cost to work there esp. since the lap dance money isn't totally guaranteed there unlike a traditional strip club (since it is a restaurant - most people are very surprised they offer lap dances!).
Life is too short to be fucked around. I just don't want to be "used" like I have been many times before *cough*PLAYERSHONEYPOT*cough* and being under-valued.

1pm to 3pm Friday @ The Boardroom a complete utter waste of time!!! :-(
It looks like it would only be worth while as an "entertainer" to work there after 3pm as then all the showgirls' shows are done. Before then people were too busy eating and watching the showgirls to really be bothered with lap dances. Not to mention that we aren't allowed to hustle and/or do any lap dances whilst the shows are on (as someone who does shows I can understand why they have this rule).
It was $50 down the tube. They didn't persue me about the $50 from state of origin night. Seems that if you work Wed and/or Thurs you get to have free lunch and no entertainer fee on Friday! So it might be worth doing one of those two days just for the free lunch and fee on Friday ... and try to work it so you don't have to come in until 3pm.
Honestly, it would work best if they had us entertainers double as waitresses. Have enough of us on so that if someone is busy with a patron in an "entertainer" sense the other entertainers can pick up the slack as such.... or allow those entertainers who want something to do between 1-3pm something to do instead of sitting around.

Dont think they would do that, as they would have to pay you for you to waitress, and would have to charge customers more.

Dont think they would do that, as they would have to pay you for you to waitress, and would have to charge customers more.
Um, they do actually. That day two of the waitresses were double-ling as entertainers eventually yet waitresses primarily. You couldn't tell who was a waitress and who was an entertainer as they both dressed just like they were entertainers.
So it could work. I was saying instead of having only those two girls as waitresses... have us all as waitresses/entertainers... so those two girls could take a break whenever they wanted and the rest of the waitresses/entertainers could pick up the slack if so needed. I wouldn't have minded that because then I would be paid something plus not sitting around on my ass doing nothing.. waiting for them to finish their meals etc.
I think I may apply as a waitress there too (thus giving me many options/ways to earn some money at that joint if I so desire).
oh ok, I didn't know that the waitresses were doing lap dances as well, as you never said that earlier
Personally if I am not getting an attractive hourly wage or making atleast $100 p/h in tips from lap dances I wouldn't bother working any where. Call me a snob, but I don't want to waste my time being everyones ass job licker (or doing everything no one else wants to do!
Let us know if it improves

Okay. Reviving this thread. As it is proberly common knowledge now, I'm currently working at Cheerleaders. Cheerleaders is the newest (as of Friday two weeks ago) strip club on the Gold Coast which is also a sports bar (in the front part).
Anyway, it seems that Crazy Horse is now closed.... supposedly for renovations. It will be interesting to see if it re-opens at all and if it does.. what are the changes? It wasn't really THAT busy the one night I worked (and from other reports). Maybe the owner(s) are hoping for Indy to give the club some life again ??
More goss that is circulating the stripper grapevine is that Spermint Rhino has supposedly finally gotten its liquor license and thus is hoping to be open in time for Indy (October) this year.
What is also being told to me by some of the Hollywood girls is that it is going thru some improvements itself. It is moving the lap dance area to "downstairs" so as it can be a bigger lap dance area as well as moving the dressing room around that area as well (making it bigger/better as well).
I'm not putting alot of stock into the whole Spearmint Rhino thing as this one has been going around for awhile now and it is a case of "I will believe it when I see it" for me.
The same with the "improvements" Hollywood is doing (not that it will make me work there).
Tho' I am forever curious as to how Spearmint Rhino is going to do in an environment where touching is allowed thus they won't be able to have the separate little lap dance rooms as they do in Melbourne. It won't work. The one common theme with all the Gold Coast clubs is that the lap dance room is an area.. a big room that is shared by everyone and has a controller (someone supervising) within there at all times (when lap dances are done).

08-16-2007, 01:27 AM
wow! shocked about crazy horse closing down! players will be next to follow if they continue treating girls the way they do, and spearmint opens!!
Crazy horse is closing down for renovations? WOW that is a very long time coming - either that or they are just saying that they are closed for renovations and just never open again ... either way, it will still be known as a dirty little strip club (which is what I constantly heard when I mentioned CH to melbourne punters who came back from a GC trip)
I am in the same mind as GCG in re: SMR in GC - I will believe it when I see it ... I was told like 8 months ago that they would be opening on X date, the date comes and go's and nothing has changed in that building
What I want to know is how can a town that relies mostly on tourist have a street no longer then 300 mtrs sustain 5 strip clubs ?? not to mention another 2 with in a 10 minute radius of the street ...
Ok in Melbourne I can understand how on King Street - but King St isn't relying on tourist - most clubs have a huge client database and run awesome promotions to bring in the punters...
I think that IF Rhino opens and all the others (CH, HW, CL, PL etc) are still open, either a few of them are going to fold (CH could be in the transition process of folding now - who knows) There are only so many dancers who can work in each club, and with a limited amount of punters (as most is tourist) it kinds seems very crazy to me.
Any news on Spearmint Rhino opening in Brisbane?? They took over the old Indi Temple Building AGES ago now, but no news on that either
I personally think Brisbane can sustain a bigger and better strip club then GC any day!!
GoldCoastGirl
08-17-2007, 09:08 PM
I agree that there just aren't enough local girls to sustain all these clubs with enough girls at each club or at least a few of them will start hiring "anyone off the street" and thus the quality in such clubs would go down.
I know Hollywood and Cheerleaders won't suffer from lack of quality as they do make everyone audition and the owners won't have 'skanky' girls working for them as such. Girls have been known to be fired for looking 'fat' to the owners (supposedly).
I'm thinking a certain club two doors down from my current club would go that way (not worry about quality) in an attempt to keep girls and have enough girls working each night and so on.
As for Crazy Horse, time will tell if it is a temporary or permanent closure.

If strip clubs were allowed to advertise properly in Queensland there wouldnt be a problem IMO and I think some of the clubs which have gone would have survived.
In the days when the clubs could advertise properly buisness was huge. Even that shitty placed venue where the Toybox is now, when it was Bad Girls it would be packed on a Friday lunchtime onwards. When it was Universal Girls and they advertised on the radio, both floors were packed so hard you could barely move.
When the new laws came in to effect buisness at all clubs nose dived pretty much over night. Am I the only one old enough to remember the good old days of the Gold Coast, lol?
You should hear what I have to say about punk, lol.
I think there are plenty enough girls left to work at all the clubs even with buisness not being as good as it could be. If anything i would say that things would be better with fewer girls.
why is the government allowing so many clubs to open yet not allowing them any way to advertise?

Puling your thong into your crotch for show before you take it off is considered masturbation... da fuck. Who the hell are their wives and how do they get off?

GoldCoastGirl
08-17-2007, 11:50 PM
.... and people wonder why I am so shocked at how liberal some laws are (or well to me at least) in re private parties elsewhere! For instance, in Darwin I was allowed to play with my clit as part of a full nude pub show (no insertion)! This wouldn't be allowed by a long shot in QLD during pub shows.
If you are speaking about "the good old days" when Players was THE club... yes I do remember those days. It was good back then!
Granted, I think Cheerleaders is able to get around this thru marketing itself as a Sports Bar... and Hollywood able to get around it (as the billboard on the Pacific Motorway still is there) thru it's "a nightclub with a difference" angle.
Even the nightclubs themselves have restrictions on them in re advertising.
I'll be in Surfers soon due to some private parties so I will go see if the Liquor License Application on the building that is supposed to be where SR located is there (as some people are telling me).
Plus I will check to see if Crazy Horse is actually closed.

I am from Sydney, Australia and I used to work at Dancers Cabaret, Mens Gallery and Pure Platinum. You will probably make money, but I left because It really became hit or miss. The clubs just don't have the clients that need to make money. The weekends can be busy. I recommend working in Melbourne at Gold Fingers or Mens Gallery there. The are really big clubs and it is all cash from what I can remember. Last time I was there girls had wads of $50 bills in there garters from all the lap dancing. Remeber thought Australia is full nude anywhere you go. Also Queensland I believe allows touching above the waist so if you ain't that knd of girl I wouldn't bother.
Good Luck

08-18-2007, 09:21 PM
Well, Crazy Horse is definately closed. I went into work last night (Saturday) around 9.30pm ... and thus walked past CH around that time... and nope.. no activity.. no bouncer outside (which is the usual sign that CH is open).
As for the Liquor Liences Application for SR... um.. where? which building? unless it was on a building on the esplanade and not down orchid ave... i didn't see any new liquor license applications on windows.
Oh.. it seems also that Players is turning into the new CH in a way. Since Cheers and H-wood make you audition.. plus you have to look good etc... it seems that Players is now getting a rep for hiring anyone and everyone as such. You wanna work as a dancer? Work at Players as they don't audition they will take you on regardless supposedly.
The only good thing about Players is it is a safe place to start work as a dancer (first timer/newbie). Cheers isn't the best place for someone (a newbie) to work without experience nor H-wood... too many girls with experience and that "have a good game" work at these clubs.
As for TB (Toy Box).... its location isn't the best yet it would still get walk by traffic since alot of surfers is now built up around it thus more people to walk by to/from the 'nightlife hub' IMO.
These are just my musings based on what is going around on the stripper grapevine ;)

Haha, doomed sounds appropriate!
Its strange - Ive had a fair number of people come upto me since and say "I saw you at Crazy Horse the other night." I didnt think there were that many people in the club!
There appeared to be about 8-10 dancers there and not more than the same amount of customers in the club the whole time I was there.
They have a stage now - was that there last time you called in?
People were tipping though.
GoldCoastGirl
08-27-2007, 09:38 PM
Yes the stage and the pole (well what they think passes for a pole as you can't really use it for any pole tricks) was there the one night I worked there.
The thing about the club is that I did make money the one night I was there because I wasn't lazy. I realised that I had to sell people pretty soon after they came into the club or else they would leave after they had their one drink. So I managed to sell a few LDs as well as get tipped decent on stage.
People were tipping as it is the only club now (that I aware) on the Gold Coast where people can actually GET some attention ("something") for their $5-10-20 tip. Players the girls don't generally give anyone 'stage side attention' and you know that doesn't happen at Hollywood nor Cheers either.
So of course people were tipping. The girls are ENCOURAGED to hustle for tips thus people tip (IMO).
GoldCoastGirl
11-13-2007, 12:44 AM
Well, I'm not a fan of the way the Gold Coast is turning out.
Yes, there is money on the Gold Coast just like any other place in Australia.
If you can handle contact and people touching your boobs and ass then you will be okay here.
If you are a hard hard worker, you will do great here.
The one thing that is getting to me about the Gold Coast (it may not to other people yet it is to me personally and a few other dancers) is the whole "standard" of going full nude (no open leg work) for no tips. If I was only on stage once or twice a night, it wouldn't be so much of a problem as it allows me more than enough time to sell.
(I say "standard" as it seems 3 out of the 4 clubs here make it compulsory for the dancers to do so whereas the fourth club is definately starting to "encourage" the girls to go full nude.)
Even three times a night isn't so bad if my first stage set was really early.
However, it is just way to easy for someone to pay admission ($10 at my club supposedly) and sit there in the very front seats (or even close to front or anywhere with a view of the stage) for hours... no drinks, no lap dances, no stage tipping. Just sit there and "enjoy-ing the view".
Stage tipping does happen at the clubs and I keep saying stage tips are "bonus money" because it is here on the Coast. We aren't allowed to "hustle" for stage tips whilst on stage. Guys do not have to tip us even if they are in the front seats (no matter how short or long a time they have sat there) where they can really get an eye full!
It might just be the club I work within because it does have the "sports bar" aspect to it in one section. I've heard it is 'better' generally over at the club across the road where girls are always leaving with money each night.
I've seen the roster for the club across the road... there are HEAPS of girls working over there. HEAPS. That says something IMO.
I don't know. I think I'm burnt out again with the Gold Coast club scene. I gave it a good go with this new club. I won't call it quits just yet as I want to explore a couple of options. Let's just say I really have to start looking elsewhere again for work as it is all getting to me.
Why make it so damn easy for people to be cheap?
Lysondra
11-13-2007, 02:38 AM
I went to your club as a custy, Vee. I was in LOVE with one of the girls there. I accidentally tipped a girl a $100 instead of a $10! Oh well, my fault. I ended up getting a 20 minute lapdance for two to touch. My male friend paid entry but I did not. It actually didn't seem as bad as you say and the girl I got head over heels for said she made heaps there... but she was hot hot HOT! Dark skinned, heavy makeup with fake eyelashes, wears little bells? 3 syllabal name?

If this was over Indy then she could have been anybody. There were a whole HEAP of "new girls" who only worked Indy. Some have stayed on, some have not. Even some "standard" girls have left.
As I said, there is money to be made at this and any Gold Coast club. I'm not disputing that fact. Just that I don't really like how the clubs make it just that easier for cheapskates to be within the club.
(It might just be this club as I heard people generally spend money more easily on the dancers over at Hollywood)
And Monday night just past was full of them.
Too many people paying entry, watching the stage, some not even ordering a drink and staying for an hour or so before leaving. No tipping the girls on stage, no going for lap dances even tho' many girls approached them (including me).
If someone doesn't want to go for a lap dance, I always "educate" (in a nice way) that they are allowed to tip the dancers on stage if they enjoy her performance. It has helped here and there yet honestly not enough.
I just wish the Gold Coast would have a culture within the strip clubs where nudity is valued and thus if someone wants to see more than some tits then fork up the cash buddy. Except they don't have to do so. They can sit right in those front row seats which are really close to the stage, not drink and watch.
the longer the girls work @ the clubs and continue to go full nude on stage, the longer it is going to take to get any sort of culture about them . (strip clubs that is)

Actually, with the opening of Cheerleaders it basically put the nail in the coffin of Crazy Horse, imo. It had its place, it used to be a real hot money club in its day however that day has long passed. Same to the day when Players was decent (or worth the bullshit of working there)... well.. it still is for a few girls (only a few).
As for the bitchyness of the dancers, yeah there were some girls who were more friendly than others however this isn't just restricted to Crazy Horse... it is in all the clubs. Believe me, no club is "bitchier" than the others.
Let's just say that girls could fight amongst each other physically there more so than at any other club. That's where it got its "bitchy" rep.
Yes, it will be missed by even me as I was going to give it another go. I liked how people could get some attention for $10 ... topless only.. no touching. It offered people an alternative to a $50 lap dance as I realise not everyone wants a lap dance.
Plus yes the rules in the lap dances were more stricter there from the one night I worked there all that time ago now. I'm glad I gave it that one night. Helped dispel quite a few of the myths about the place for me personally.
I'll miss it for the pure fact and reason now Players can now say THEY are the oldest strip club on the Coast. Another part of Gold Coast history, gone. Boo.

I know a couple of dancers who loved Crazy Horse and did very well there - of course the club would have been great for some.
The only thing I have to comment about on your post/s Classy58 is that theyre a bit personal and generally there is no need to post peoples names and then personal information about them. Obviously you know your "best friend" better than we do but I dont think its appropriate to post her name and her boyfriends name and where he is on a public forum. perhaps you could go back and edit? Same goes for The Centrefold Lounge thread. Im sorry if youve had a rough time but most of us on SW when looking for a new club to work at, are not interested in shagging the male co-workers. I finally found the website for the club I'm working within and I'm not a fan. Maybe it will change too over time just like the Hollywood one? Who knows. (Yes, the Hollywood Showgirls website definately does not look like what it first looked like when it debut-ed ... it has gone thru A LOT of changes to be where it is finally.) It just doesn't promote either the sports bar or the strip club aspect IMO.. it's focusing on the nightclub part *insert eye roll here*
What is funny too is that Monday night was Fight Night with a Mundine fight happening... yet... with all the tv screens in the "Sports Bar" part of the club... not one of them showed the fight. Will they also forget to show the State of Origin or any other sports event that would be good for bringing in patrons?
I did good at The Boardroom on State of Origin Game 3. Granted, I didn't sell a thing until it was all over however I managed to lay the ground-work very easily whilst the game was on for the easy sell later.....
You wouldn't think it is a sports bar and strip club by the look of the website. Am I the only one who instantly thinks it is a nightclub being promoted via that website instead of what it actually is...??
not fond of it really, I would prefer a non-flash site full of information rather then one that can do fancy stuff that says jack crap about what the product/service is...
K.I.S.S. theory should apply
