Look i am for real when i say what i feel. I do dance becuse i truely enjoy what i do i put forth effort into how i dance and what i dance to and what i wear and take great joy in it. I do make good money but that is not the only reason i do what i do i am sorry for you bgn that you are shallow that you belive that someone can dance for the joy of dancing. If a dancer dances like there is a crowd of people in a clun and there is onone there then she dances for more then just the money. I am not the only dancer that dances for the love of it. Maybe dancers like myself are rare but that dose not make it wrong or childess or stupid to be that way.

Kewl beans.
Its the newbie board,so im not trying to slow your roll at all, thats a great attitude for you to have,I see it often in girls when they first get into the industry.
I know lots of girls who enjoy this lifestyle, almost all that i know freekin lovfe it as much as i do.But one thing I also know about all those girls is the FACT that if it wasnt for the money, the madness wouldnt be worth it to most of them.
If your still basking in the glow of it all,and dont mind dancing below your potential because of music choice, kewl beans, more power to you, your choice.
Its just my opinion(and ask anyone,im an asshole so my opinion matters little),but in your career as an entertainer, you will look at the money in the end,and not the "art of it all"as the driving force that keeps you here,THEY ALL DO!!!
If your in this for the art of it all, stop now,go back to school and plan for something else, with your same drive and ambition.
I would give that same advice to my kid,my friend,or some chic i never met on the internet if they were entering into,or already in, this industry.
The art of our industry is long gone, now its assembly line lapdances and as many sets a night they can get you on stage to sell the lapdances.
This isnt the industry to stay in over a long period of time and come out the same on the other end.
Chase your dreams with a fistfull of dollar bills sweety, but dont do it for long.
Stripping is a springboard to something else, nothing else,if you tread water here,it WILL eat you alive.
Just so you know,I still think of it as art,its kept me here probably longer then you have been alive(jus guessing:) ),i have that luxery from the view i get from the dj booth, sorry to say this, but the girls dont have that option anymore,at least not the successful ones.IMO.
I dont want to sound like a stick in the mud,but fuck art,go for the money so you can get the hell out and start doing what you really want to do.
And I know, from what your saying, all you want to do right now is be a stripper,so this falls on deaf ears.
Kewl beans.
Sorry if im comming across as a dick.
Im just echoing the words of all the 30 year old dancers i know, who wish they looked at the money when they were 20,instead of the "art of it all"the first few years of thier career. Most say it was time wasted in achieving thier dreams.
I do make good money but that is not the only reason i do what i do i am sorry for you bgn that you are shallow that you belive that someone can dance for the joy of dancing.
Dancers making good money, doing it for the "art of it all",very rarely audition for other clubs.
Is bare elegence more artistic and thats why you were going to audition there??
Or was it because you thought it would be more money??;)
Jus kidding!!!
Who cares why???
Just freekin do it,thats the whole point of me even bringing this all up,dont NOT go just because they wont let you dance to hair bands.
If your the shit, and you can make the upgrade, for kripes sake, forget about the art of it all and go for the money!
If a dancer dances like there is a crowd of people in a clun and there is onone there then she dances for more then just the money. I am not the only dancer that dances for the love of it. Maybe dancers like myself are rare but that dose not make it wrong or childess or stupid to be that way.
On all my comp screens in the dj booths i used to be in,I have always had the same scrolling screen saver, its says"dance for one as you would for one thousand, and you will always make tipout"
Its not exactly hemmingway,or even close to poetic, but i really belive its true.
The facts are though, and the reality is,when 1 guy is in the club, the girls dont give thier all on stage.
Not ment as an insult to anyone who "says"they do,I just dont belive them.
Seen way to many girls on stage with just 1 customer in the room.If it isnt thier regular customer, the effort on stage from the girls isnt 100%.

welllllllllll.. . back to the beginning, i decided to go with the smaller club for now anyways, but i did it mainly because i thought it would be better to get started there instead of at a club that's way larger, where you have to seriously hustle & house fees are out the ass. this is my first time dancing & i feel comfortable at this smaller club, so it's all good in that respect. The DJs have been picking the music i dance to, but they did also ask me what genre i prefered, etc. they were pretty psyched when i said 80s/rock/hair-metal. one of them actually went as far as to say "great! thats what the guys like to hear the most, anyways, and its what i like to play!" woO! soo, things worked out afterall. maybe this is the case at bare elegance too (asking for a genre preference), im not really sure.. . i was just told that girls can request specific songs at this smaller club, which can be nice, on occassion, i think, right? anyhow -- since i started on wednesday, ive had to dance to some songs that wouldnt have been top choices for me during sets where we danced doubles and it wasn't a problem at all, either.
i'd have to agree with the movie vs. soundtrack comment -- if a customer likes you, he likes you. he doesn't care what you're dancing to! you're naked & dancing & he's happppppy! ;)
(although i did have 2 businessmen tip me almost $50 all together during one song -- a really awesome remix of sweet emotion -- and i think a lot of it had to do with the fact that, yeah, they liked me, but they were SO happy about the song, too! it was cute, they kept saying "man! this song is so GREAT! i love this song!" and then they'd sing along. hehe.. .)
[QUOTE=krchab99 And futher more i hate a mostly rap club in encourges botty bouning which is the tackiest thing a stripper can do and takes away from the art of exotic dance.[/QUOTE]
Booty bouncing has roots in African dance where movement of the hips and backside are key... and is usually done by ethnic dancers so calling it tacky seems to show a lack of knowledge, it's not for everyone I agree but it's no more tacky then the other 50 typical "stripper moves" that girls do around the country.
