Congrats on your mindfulness and determination.

Kicked the narcotics myself on July 31, 1996.

Always good to see someone else who has the strength.

And, yeah, it's really kind of weird... after you drop the old partying friends, and later you run into them for this reason or that... *shaking my head* You start noticing what a human waste there sometimes is.

Anyway, again, Congrats!

thanks for all the kind words everyone!!! its nice to see that i am doing the right things, when sometimes i feel like saying fuck it all and visiting those i shouldnt for a smoke,i read this thread, and suddenly realise im doing things right, and to keep with it.

so thanks for that :) :) :)

btw.
i spent most of new years eve bawling my eyes out to my partner about how much we wasted the year cos of drugs etc... and now we have decided to move back to aussie on april 1st (ish) cos that place is perfect rehab.we do not have any past there with drugs,we dont have any drug friends there, and mentally, we are much healthier there.
btw. new years we spent laying in bed at home watching tv together! lol lame maybe, but its probably what we needed.

Can't soar with the eagles if you are surrounded by turkeys.

I left "crappy old NZ" myself in '98 and don't miss it one bit. That tiny place does one's head in.

Never thought I'd say it but I love Queensland. Yikes. (and it's been 36-38 this past week).

Never feel guilty about chopping off diseased limbs. (metaphorically... this isn't that movie 'Saw')... Any situation that is negative for you is a life-waster, as you are seeing.

May you keep up the momentum for your move. You won't regret it.

April 1st... hmm... invite me to house warming. I should have my license by then LOL and I'll try to write it off as a long distance booking ;D (as I bought a car for work not personal driving)

Can't wait for you to hit our shores girl! ;D

I found someone who has up2date info. about Santa Fe Gold in Townsville so when I know more about it I will pass the info on ;D

Congratulations. :) I know how hard it is.

Q: Do you still get the cravings or do they go away?

i dont get cravings for the drug, i get cravings for the memories. you know the process of smoking. like we had a lil routine about it, and it was fun. it was. the drug wasnt, but the routine, the conversations, the freidns.....i miss all that soooo freaking much. i dont think i would have quit for as long as i have, had i stayed in nz tho. it was just too acessible.

if i concentrate, i can remember the feeling of the first few inhales, THEN i want some, but that kinda self inflicted to think of it.lol torture!

i am glad its gone tho, most of me is anyways. theres still a chunk of me that misses tho friends, the endless nights of conversations and playing games, watching tv. random crap, that to me then was fun. ill always miss it. but im glad its behinde me too.

that makes sence aye? hah
