You can NEVER prepare for things like this. All you can do is try to survive. Yes, you know what they say about the best laid plans....every hour that goes by today it just seems to be worse and worse. The looting is sickening. Food, water, yes that's SURVIVAL in a disaster of this magnitude.....video games and shit......just sickening. Now I just heard some police will have to switch from rescue efforts to controlling the looting that's spreading and spreading. Survival, rescues and much needed aid asap is what we have to do now. The pictures are devastating to see. I know a few people who work for the Red Cross, monitary donations, even just a few dollars WILL help.

Believe it or not, there have been shootings in the city while this disaster is spinning even further out of control. They're not only trying to stop people who are stealing unnecessary items like video games and tv's; but people are looting GUN STORES now. I just saw that 2 huge planes loaded with ARMY reservists are leaving for the sole purpose of law enforcement. Pretty sad. I'm sure they understand the need for essential food and clothing items; but some of that is just out of control. I would definitely think twice about rebuilding my business in New Orleans. By the time that city is even close to being rebuilt or cleaned up, it'll be time for the next hurricane season. It's a horrible cycle.
