Yeah, he does, as the bag burst and he now has no ride control at all. Oh, and stock costs $1500 for the rear pair plus new solenoid/valves and an air dryer, even on a car that old. Aftermarket costs a third that much.

OK here's a serious question to pick your brain. I've decided that my WRX has been 'smoked' by rich presumptive assholes driving 'Vettes and Beemers for the very last time. It's time to re-enter the realm of Nitrous Oxide. So here comes my question.

I have run NOx before on my Eagle Talon (= Mitsu Eclipse), which basically just used an injection plate, i.e. so-called 'dry' injection. However, in researching the NOx kits for the 2 liter turbo WRX, the better kits use so-called 'wet' injection. What is the major difference with the 'wet' injection system (other than claiming more HP boost) ? Is a 'wet' injection system less risky to my engine than a 'dry' system if set for the same HP boost (I'm thinking +60 shot) ?

At the moment I'm leaning towards ... http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/sport_compact/nitrous_performer.html

thoughts ? recommendations ?

Forget the nitrous...you have a WRX...its an easy platform to start with to get hp...all you want is 60hp?

You can pick up a quick 50hp with simple boltons...exhaust(downpipe included), wastegate/blowoff, and a "chip" to go with those mods...you can up the boost on the stock turbos slightly and you wont lose any driveability...

If you want to slap on a little larger turbo and some injectors...the sky is the limit...the stock internals/block are good for 500hp reliably.

My good friend has a wrx with some decent mods similar to what i mentioned...pushing about 350-400hp...there is minor turbo lag...but that thing as fast above 4k rpm...i can get a list of his mods if you are interested.

Or trade the car in for an STI...i raced one of those the other day...from 75-120...we were almost dead even...not bad for a little NA 4cyl compared to his turbo 4cyl :P

How can I get 700-800 hp out of my Ford 400, without NOS or supercharger?

The better question is why do you need/want 700-800hp?

No need for it in an offroad thingy...just change your gearing...

Unless you are doing some 1/4 offroad runs over boulders that i didnt know about. :P

forget that mess and install a standard suspension...im sure if there isnt a kit for it...it can be fabbed into place for far cheaper than that.

Aftermarket is cheaper for one axle ($500) is than a spring/damper kit for both axles ($1000) plus labor. AmericanAirSuspension, Strutmasters, Bagmaster, etc all have different warranty periods and they all make kits for our model. We're looking at the one with the best rubber but it doesn't have the best warranty. Ther Lincoln Car Owners Club just offfers the names; havent found anyone who compared them.

This is why http://www.lonehickorymudbogs.com/ I want to go here and run next year. It's in my home town and I know lots of the drivers.

do you really need 800hp to do that though?

That would be the last thing on my list of "to do" stuff

weight is just as important as hp...have you lightened it at all?

You'd probably be running in "PRO-STOCK" with an 800hp engine...which will probably be impossible anyway...

i say keep it simple and run in a lower class.

Good luck..and take pics

They don't go by hp, they go by tire size and modifications. I want to run CLASS 1-MODIFIED STOCK; CLASS 2-SUPER STOCK; CLASS 3-SUPER MODIFIED STOCK, (1) Class 1--Modified Stock: 34" Max (2) Class 2--Super Stock: 38.5" Max (3) Class 3--Super Modified Stock: to 45" Max. Yes I can turn 34" tires, but want to run 38.5" and 44". Most all the guys that run, run these 3 classes and can run the last 2 classes. I know you know a lot about pavement pounding, but when it comes to mud (not off road but mud) you need to do some homework. I'm in no way saying I know how to build a great mud truck but I know the basics and hp, torque, gearing, tire size and tire type is what it takes to win.

I highly recommend you join an offroad/mud forum. They would have much more knowledge on the subject than we would.
