It only works if you are a virgin, or if you do not already have HPV. However, since it is nearly impossible to know if you do unless you already abnormal cells, they only give it to women within the age range of 9-26 assuming that this age group is prime age for abstinence. What about older virgins? They should protest...;)

You don't have to be a virgin. You just have to get the vaccine before you're exposed to HPV, so they're trying to reach the young virgins before they become sexually active and risk exposure.

well yeah, that's what I meant..they say since it's not detectable (it's not like they have a test that says yes you have it or no your don't...it's either they catch abnormal cells growth or it could be dormant or non-existent)...
