Circe, I have a Tanita scale that tells you your body fat percentage. It sends a "safe, low level electrical signal which passes through the muscle and fat in the body" to calculate it. (Reading off the box). lol. I'm assuming they all work that way, but not sure.

Oh wow...that electrical thing sounds cool but...haha I'm a little wary of it.

I do need an accurate scale though, mine is pretty wonky. I'll look into the Tanita brand, thanks.

I'm 5'8, when I wake up I'm about 143 and when I go to sleep I'm around 147. But I've changed my diet to being a much stricter vegan. I eat only fruits and veggies combined properly and occasionally I have one other thing in the day combined properly, like an egg, or some rice. I've actually lost about 5Lbs in the past 4 days. I feel a lot better and have more energy now. I'd like to weigh about 135, that's what I weighed in high school and I didnt look under weight then, I just had a higher metabolism...

Fine, I've avoided this thread like the plague... but:

barely 5'3... 102. working on it. :(

and yes, most of it is muscle... i have some wiry guns. custies are always impressed and it makes me happy. I say, "I may be little, but I'm strong!" of course they don't know that I'm desperately trying to recover from an eating disorder, but whatever- I have to at least appear to have it together.

however, I've been 89 lbs before. so if i'm at least getting my period, i don't stress myself too much about the weight.

5'2 and 110 pounds. This is the smallest I've been since I was about 14-15-so needless to say, I'm very happy! And actually excited about picking bikinis out for the summer too. Yay for stripping for helping me lose weight-I was about 145 when I started. ;D

Word. I'm 5'8" and 136ish pounds...my boyfriend is an inch taller and he's like 112 or something ridiculous. The man is BONY. He's almost thirty, but his metabolism is similar to a tape-worm host.

this was a great idea for a thread!

i am 5'10 and 135lb. althought it doesn't matter how much i weigh, i ALWAYS think i am/feel fat. the heaviest i have been was 160 (working a desk job and living with a man, that'll do it) and the lowest i have been was 120 (two months ago, dieting and working out like a maniac (for nothing because even though i was shortlisted and interviewed in calgary, i didn't make the top 10 for canada's next top model so i said FUCK IT!!)

i think about my weight and being fat every minute of every day, it is always in the bad of my mind no matter what is going on.

i wish i could make it stop :'(

5'11, between 125-135. I don't even notice the weight ups and downs, I'm guessing due to my height, I look the exact same at both weights.

I'm 5'7" 142lbs. I don't really look it though, lots of muscle in my thighs :) I personally put more stock into how you look at your weight instead of the number on the scale. id like more muscle and tone, cut down on the jiggle a bit.

Last I checked (like, January!), 5'7'', 135lb .. but it's been a few months, and I've been losing weight so.. I need to buy a freaking scale..maybe one of those w/ the body fat % thingy built in.
Geez, compared to everyone, I sound heavy. But I do have a lot of muscle, and I am big boned. And yes, I've been told a billion times that saying I'm big boned is just an excuse for being fat, but even when I'm in tweaker-shape, I don't wear less than a size 2. Just a bigger bone structer I suppose.

I'm 5'8" and 132lbs at the moment, when I was 120lbs everyone was concerned because I was uber skeletal too. I even had complications with being so thin (like I could never be comfortable sitting or laying down because of my boneiness, losing my period, and not being able to digest anything properly). I want to get down to 125lbs before I go back to dancing but I know now that 120lbs is too thin for me.

Scarlett, I think maybe you're taller than 5'8"? My doctor measures me at that height, and I swear you look taller than me. Because wow, I don't look thin like you when I am that weight/ height. But everyone has different body compositions, so who knows I guess.

When I went to the doc yesterday to get a throat culture, I request that she not tell me my weight when she weighed me. If I don't know what I weigh, it doesn't add more stress to my life being concerned that its out side of the arbitrary ideal I've created in my head. And I think that's a great idea for those of you concerned in an unhealthy manner. You know who you are.....

mollyzmoon

^^^Yeah, but if it's not scales, it's tape measurers, and if it's not those, it's jean sizes, mirrors...Really hard to escape the obsession. The world has too many reflective surfaces. And then if I don't weigh myself for weeks and then happen to see a number that frightens me, I totally lose my shit.

Esp when you're sewing your own clothes!! I wear a 6 or an 8 when I go to the store for a dress but when I make my own I wear a 14 or a 16. It's way way lame. I used to wear a 3/4 pants but I don't think I do anymore. I don't look at the sizes anymore, they make me hurt, I just pull out a few pairs and try them on w/o looking at the size, then I get someone to cut the tag out so I never see it.

ARG I'm 5'9" 134.5 now.

I've just started an intense exercise regimen, got some excellent whey powder, and have been watching what I eat but I've gainnnned about 3 lbs.

I like to think I've built muscle first and the fat part will melt off soon. ;D I wanna be 128-130 with like... 19% bodyfat.

YUCK.. what I hate the most is how sizes are not universal, not even close. I hate buying pants/jeans at stores where I don't normally shop bc the only way I can get close to figuring out where to begin on the size meter is if they do it S-M-L... I can wear a 4 in one store and a 10 in another? That just throws me off completely.. So I can be all proud of myself working out and eating healthy, and suddenly I'm shopping in the 'w' department? I don't think so.. YUCK!!

And YAY to shopping for shoes and make-up and purses and jewelry and other things that don't suck!!

LMAO This is why I have a makeup and shoes problem....always fit! Just today I tried on a few special occasion dresses at Nordstroms Rack and two fit perfectly....one was an 8 and the other a 2. WTF? What happened to sizes being equal to your waist measurement minus 20? Id wear a size 6 in that case, right around where I thought I was.

oh, no competition at all. its just that I think i'm kinda heavy and i feel a little uncomfortable and I was wondering what the average kinda was. especially around my height. i see more of the girls my height weigh about 10 or more pounds less than I do

gooddamn honey i'm 5'2 and weigh anywhere from 110-114 and I don't find myself heavey at all and neither does anyone else as far as i know. i wear a size 0-3 so don't feel heavy and stop making me feel fat lol
