The pretzel moves can be quite sexy if done properly......that was my trademark for years in my old club......the secrets to it looking good are:

1. Never throw both legs behind your head on the floor (the only exception is to rest your back against the pole and hook your feet behind the pole...sliding slowly up and down...

2. it always looks best if you only hook one leg behind your head while on your side....kinda like a split, but in the air......I always liked to do that at the tip rail

3. once when I worked at a high contact club....I would sit with my back on the customers shoulders, and flip my legs behind his head.....heh heh...

We have a couple girls who can wrap their legs around their head and I think it looks hot. Just dont do it fast. And if you can work it into your act.. like we have one girl who will be on her back then she will slowly lift one leg over her head then slowly lift the other then she will look down then look at the guys with an evil grin on her face. The way she pulls it off a lot of guys find it sexy.

i am very flexable and showing it off makes me a lot of money and has at just about every club i have been to. I dont do nude clubs, but it gets me killer tips. I do both pretzel style putting both legs behind my head, but i keep one arm behind me to hold myself up. So its kinda like if you sit on the floor and then lean back on one hand, only with my legs over my head. I also can lie flat on my back and pull my streight legs towards my head till they touch the ground, keeping them streight. What i usually do is lean on my elbows and put my feet to the floor like that because i dont have to pull them back with my hands. Before i got my boob job i could climb up the pole a ways, cross my legs on it, hang on to the pole iwht both hands and then kick my legs behind my head while on the pole. i always get a lot of complements on my flexability. It may not be the sexiest thing to see, but for most men, it is impressive and they like it = turn on

Most of the things mentioned as no-nos can work if the dancer knows how to work it. I realize that I look like a fool dancing around with my panties on my head with my hair pulled through to look like mickey mouse ears, but that was my point. Sometimes the mood of the room is way too serious, and I do that to lighten a heavy mood. After I get off stage my line is "I promised my mom I'd at least leave my panties on ;D " . This is just in fun.

For the new dancer, when it is slow watch yourself in the mirrors while on stage. I caught myself doing a some really stupid looking stuff this way.

To the customer who said about avioding the back wall: If there are tipping customers, I'm not dancing at the back wall. If you notice a dancer staying away from the customers, it is probably because there is no tipping going on.

My biggest pet peeve is dancers who talk shop while performing. Don't yell over to the dj, the bartender, the waitress or another dancer while performing either on stage or a private dance TACKY, TACKY, TACKY!! If you need a bouncer, then that is okay.

really bad things I've seen on stage:

*I watched a dancer bitch slap a non tipping customer
*Dancer with hood peircing thought it was cute to hang a flash light from the ring while dancing nude :O
*Dancer wearing shoes that are too big, shoe flys across the room spilling several drinks in the process
*Humping the pole /:O
*The "drop and squat" Every new dancer does this. Dancer stands facing the customer, bends forward until she can touch the floor, then proceedes to bend her knees and then straighten them again, in a weird kind of deep knee bend. Not attractive!
*dancer pours (insert liquid here) all over herself, and leaves it on the stage. Not only is this rude, it is dangerous
*Sitting on stage and glaring at the audience. If they aren't tipping just leave on your clothes and dance for yourself. Looking like a brat doesn't help your situation.

I think I gotta try that some day Paris lol... The girls would probably laugh me out of the club but it would be a lot of fun and im sure the guy would love it!

I never thought fast movenment was all that sexy, but I really changed my mind when I saw a dancer named Sunshine at Ten's in Tucson. She moved fast, was very flexible, and full of energy. She really stood out in my mind! I guess it all depends on if you can keep it up at a constant pace, she was obviously in great shape, so it worked for her.

I also got a kick out of the way she got her tip once. Guy came up to the stage and she got on her stomach facing away from him and used both legs to slam his face into her ass, and then let him slip the tip in her g-string. Ever guy wanted to tip her after that!

No one was tipping yesterday so I kept my clothes on. But then I had a manager tell me I had to take my top off. :eyebrow:

Don't act like an idiot because the dj didn't play the song you requested!
We had a girl the other night freak out and start cussing and flipping the dj off while on stage and she kept it up the entire song! Made her look like an idiot and it really turned the guys off. If this ever happens to you make sure you remember to go with the flow and do your dance, then go talk to the dj and see what's up. Also speak with the manager about the incident if it's serious. Never ever let your emotions get to you while on stage and flip out, you'll lose money and business due to your lack of self control!

I'm new at dancing and I work at a relatively small club. Out of the these said these are the things I do. And to be honest, my customers really like it and get into it...

I retrieved tips with my breasts. (I'm a 38 C and got a lot of boobage)
I licked my nipples. (they really like that)
Lip synch. (usually when I'm going over to the customer and he's singing it, then I'll chime in)

I also retrieve tips with my ass. ;)

I really don't think any of those looks stupid, unless you're not having fun while doing it.

That girl sounds like someones out of control kid. The customers would only imagine her acting the same way with them. You're right, you have to be calm and professional. The DJ & anyone else in the club will always remember her behaviour.

Don't do the same move over and over and over. It can be the sexiest thing ever, but try not to be too repetitive.

There is a girl where I work and she does "the bounce". She will squat down, hold her boobs and sort of bounce up and down. Repeatedly. It looks so stupid!

Her only other move seems to be the "prance and shimmy". That's where she will walk a few steps and then undulate her shoulders back and forth. (remember Charo?? Cooochie Coochie Coochie!!)

I swing my legs

I sing on stage ..it keeps me smiling at least.

I dont walk around like a deranged barbie smiling at nothing , I've yet to figure out how people smile the entire set. I smile when people are there ..not when Im up there alone.

But i have to stick with the

Dont lick body parts...hygiene issues .. eom.

dont pick up money with your mouth.

dont slap your pussy, ass etc.. it looks pretty retarded.

I hate the spread leg while laying on the back and BANGING the shoes on the stage a few times. it's some sorta attention thing girls are doing at other clubs i've seen.

do not yell from stage to customers or other girls.

( although i'm way guilty of this lol )

or how about dont get drunk on stage then "leap" off. i seen this the other night.

With regards to "lip" synching... I saw a girl who was onstage, like, contracting her cooter... I don't know how else to say it, and she was like, "Look! It's lip synching!" It was funny. It's great when girls have a sense of humor on stage.

I also saw a stripper walk around to every guy who was around the stage and demand a tip. Then the guys would be like, "I don't have any money," and she'd yell at them. One hand, it was rude of her to demand a tip, on the other hand, I think if you're standing around the stage, you should fucking tip!

Please don't try to tie the ones you just got tipped in your hair...

Seriously we had a girl try to tie her hair up in a pony tail with the dollar she just got tipped...

She also tried to wrap a one around the heel of her shoe (I guess she thought maybe it would stay)... Don't do that either... It makes you look stupid... :O

the only thing that comes to mind is don't try complicated tricks/moves you have never done before. You can easily lose balance, slip and fall, or hurt yourself. But if you dare and look silly, just laugh it off!!!

You're right, the best thing to do if you fall ever is to laugh it off!

O.K how bout this one - just because your other "lips" are long enough to be tied in a knot or a bow, doesn't mean that you should do it. I saw that done by a girl and I think just about everybody in the club was disgusted.

DON'T: look uncomfortable onstage
frown or scowl (save it for the dressing room)
complain about anything to tipping customers

It's rough, but your 2-3 songs onstage are your window of opportunity to let the whole club see you. If you blow it, they'll wait to see what the next girl is like. It's a sh*tty business.
With time, you can get away with clowning or silly stuff...but you need to learn the ropes first...I wish I had realized this sooner.

I have a new one to add after yesterday....
DO NOT I repeat.. DO not try fire shows unless your trained PROPERLY
also...
DO NOT set the stage on fire(see feature set stage on fire in the lounge)...

Do have fun though... fun is the key thing to dancing... let yourself relax and just enjoy what you do.... try not to look to bored on stage.

Maybe you can come to work a little early and practice on the pole if the manager lets you, its always good to warm up and practice anyway if you have the chance. Its more of a safety issue when you havent has much practice on the pole. The combination of a newbie, 6 inch stripper shoes, and a pole can be lethal :]

I just thought of one other good one.

DO NOT clack your shoes together loudly. It's not sexy. I saw this dancer at a club once who would slam her shoes together every single time she completed a tricky pole move. I'm glad she did such a cool pole trick, but the shoe clack is scary, not sexy.

DO NOT hang from the rafters. I saw that as well at the same club. Not sexy. At all.

Cally
11-20-2005, 03:13 PM
I know a few girls who will hang from the rafters after climbing the pole... the men go nuts for it.
As for the shoe clacking... sometimes its not on purpose... I know when I do some stuff on the pole when i hit the ground depending on the way it sounds like im banging my shoes together... its annoying as hell.

I've done the shoe thing and I think that 1 well placed, well timed shoe "clack" is o.k. It tends to bring people's attention back to the dancer on stage (me) and that's the whole point. But doing it over and over again is just annoying.

After seeing this last week:

DO NOT go and stomp though your stage songs, stomping is not a pretty or sexy form of dancing!

This new girl had me laughing my arse off with her stage set. 90% of her 3 song "routine" consisted of her marching around the stage in what can only be described as exagerated stomping. She'd lift her knee up real high and then slam her foot down hard and fast, one leg after the other... It was very strange to watch her walking around stomping mad like that. Wierdest of all was that she smiled a lot and seemed to try real hard to entertain the audience! lol

Whoever showed her those moves was not very nice!

lol OH MY! That's hilarious!! HAHA i wonder if she looks at herself in the mirror if they have one. hehe. I would have said something to her even if she got pissed lol. I just can't sit around and watch someone look like a complete ass and not know it haha! Poor Girl!

What is it with the spanking your ass thing? Why do some dancers think that it's bad.. I honestly don't really do it on stage but when i do guys love it. They actually give me more money..so how is that bad? /:O

I do think it would be more fun if it was a hot girl doing it instead

Don't dance too long for a tip (exception: $20 or more). 15-20 seconds is enough. While you're dancing for a full song for a dollar, the rest of us are dancing for less than 30 seconds. You're working too hard!!

For the love of Goddess, please don't do too much for a measly dollar or two (or three). Includes "titties-in-the-face", pole tricks (just for that one guy with his one buck), rubbing your ass against a customer's crotch/face/boobs, every move in your repertoire, etc... Leave them wanting more ;) If you actually like the contact, then save it for the customer with the $20 in his hand, not the cheapo with A dollar.

Don't let customers touch you onstage. It just opens the door for other customers to put their grimy little hands on you or the same customer to put his grimy little hands on another dancer.

Please don't drink or smoke onstage.

Don't pretend you know about a particular subject. You'll look dumb when you get caught, lol. Instead, ask the customer to share his/her views on whatever it is, so you have info the NEXT time a customer brings it up. If the guy is a reg, then you can hit the information highway (or library) and learn a little more about it.

Don't wear stained/torn/wrinkled outfits.

I do the boobs in the face thing for a dollar, only b/c not many other girls do and when the guys see its a dollar i get a line at all my stages. Sounds cheap, but after 7 mandatory stages i ususally make at least 80 bucks in ones, not to mention the occasional 5-20s. ones addup!

I wouldn't worry much about what other dancers think about you spanking your ass, rubbing your tits in a guy's face, etc.. If you're making money doing it - and it's not to the detriment of other dancers - then have at it. Spanking your behind might irritate other dancers, but it's harmless.

Cool! To each his or her own. I'm a no-contact stage-dancer and do about the same (sometimes more, sometimes less) as the contact stage-dancers. Only I do less work - that's my mantra. Work smarter, not harder. :D Again, if you're not doing anything that cheapens the club, and it's within reason, then I wouldn't worry about other dancers. I occassionally do things that might irritate some dancers (like coming out of my top during the first song if I have a good tipper, or lip-synching).

Anyone ever noticed at Hardbodies they are constantlly lip syncing!! its not sext but sometimes its funny (thats still entertaining). I thought licking your own boobs was a good thing. I havent danced yet but my first time I will prolly be soooo nervous that I will end up doing all the don'ts. lol

Yea I work there and agree...I laugh at some of the girls who lip synch....they look like there trying to be in a music video.

I think taking tips with your breats is fine..as long and you don't linger them there too long and you dont mind every guy probably trying to lick or kiss them...it happens alot!
don't to pole tricks that make you land hard and awkward
and if you have a not so good ass dont shake it alot....and dont pull your thong so high up its too your neck that is my number one pet peeve it is so gross and do point your toes it makes you more graceful and less clunky
