Thinking about going there for a week, staying at a near by hotel. If any girl here would like to join me for that week, PM me.

So, here its been a few months. I've seen the place nearly deserted, and I've seen the place surprisingly crowded.

How is it working out?

The club is so huge, that even when there are a decent number of guys in there, it can look dead. Is it packed every moment of every day? No, but what club is? At the end of my shift, I'm pleased 95% of the time (and I have high expectations for myself.)

I can with absolute honesty that it's good from a dancer's POV. You really have to look at it from the number of customers to dancers, and the ratio is good, imo.

I remember reading a while back that things had changed here...I only came up with this thread though. So could anyone update me? It doesn't seem to be on bestdancers.com anymore. Is it still gown? Can you still show up and work without booking...hypothetically with international ID? Merci bien!

^^ I don't know about the international ID thing, but it's not a gown club. The money potential is definitely good, and I really liked it there; I'd go back tomorrow if I could work with their scheduling policy, but I can't.

They're not Canadian friendly anymore :(

Its not really a gown club.... but they have(had?) a dress code to some extent for their dancers. Like no pants outfits blah blah blah the dresses i've seen you wear though Molly would be allowed.

actually this is not 100% true. since cally was there, the club changed owners and management is different.

while they are not doing bookings, if you want to come and work for a week, im sure they'd have you. they are desperate for girls right now, as it's been dead dead dead thru this changeover. Em and I are still doing fine, but if i was you, i'd wait like a month to come down.

as for a dresscode, well, there really isnt one. anything goes, within reason. you cant walk around in just a thong. there is a non-american working there right now, but she lives here. once the changeover happens, Rick's (formerly CH2) Cabaret is trying to blow the other clubs out of the water in this area and frankly it wont be all that hard to do, they just need pretty faces to bring in custies, and of course the custies dont come without pretty faces. it will all work out, eventually.

picaresque- i think they will work with you on scheduling. talk to kristen.

Thanks, Chrissy et al. After driving to Scranton the other week, I realized that Philly isn't as far as I thought it was. Like, almost no farther than Toronto from here. I just really want to try a club with VIPs at some point, and for a change of scenery...that's not so French and stuff. I'll probably check it out next month then. :)

Right now I'm taking a break from dancing b/c I'm ridiculously burnt out, but when I come back, I will probably try that.

The thing that drove me batshit insane was the other housemom kept lying to me about my schedule. I was hired for nights, and she kept trying to tell me I had to work two day shifts a week or come in every night before 6. Even after both managers and the other housemom told her several times that I'm just a night girl and am to be working regular night shifts, she just wouldn't drop it. That got really old, really fast.

^^She did that crap to me, too. So annoying. At one point I gave her my schedule and she changed all the nights to days.

-I'll resurrect this one instead of starting a brand new one. I heard the club closed yesterday. Is that true? If so, is this just part of the changing-over-to-Rick's issue still or is it something far more dastardly?

^^I ran into one of the floorguys today (don't want to get him in trouble, but you all can guess what he was doing at D's) and he said they were closed for 60 days for renovations and that Ricks was on the way.

yep, pretty much what she said. I figure everyone is scrambling to find a job right now and not going far. I think I'm going to work outside of Philly until Rick's is ready.

agree with emily. no need to saturate another philly club when that'll be what everyone else is doing. the stupid thing abotu it all, is that they never told us, the ladies, that this was going to happen (most likely because they didn't want everyone to run off). So yesterday at like 1130 am i get a call from a housemom who tells me to come quick and get my shit because the club is closing. i ran over there and thank god for saphire123456, because she made them stay open for me!! they tried to kick her out. funny, it was like she chained herself to my locker so they would let me come in and get my shit hehehe. at least i got mine and Emily's stuff. I'll def. be returning to Rick's.

Rick's definitely did not leave even though that's how it looked for awhile. They published a press report to their shareholders that they acquired 100% of the club on Jan 29th.

It was absolutely ridiculous the way they told us. And to have until 2pm to get our shit. One housemom was calling girls, but another one was pillaging through lockers, taking shit for herself from the girls she believed owed her money.

At least you'll get a proper "Grand Opening"

yikes. I still want to dance in Philly someday, but I'm all paranoid about boarder guys finding my stripper shoes. That's pretty lame the way they gave you 2.5 hours to run and grab your stuff.

Wow that's insane, but I can imagine. Maybe they'll start the new Rick's with some sane housemoms? Keep us in the loop-I want to see what they do with it!

And yeah-it would be cool to see some awesome chicks over at D's (since there have been some...interesting new hires), but it is slow right now. Not impossible, but slow.

To be honest, that doesn't surprise me that they gave short notice. I've noticed that a LOT of workplaces do this...not just strip clubs. My friend M--k worked for Indy Mac Bank, which (as some of you may be aware) closed down 5 of their headquarters buildings...M--k's workplace was one of them. They told the employees at the end of the workday that they were now all laid off with 2 months of severence! Even the UPS delivery guy knew before the employees did!! :O A day or two before the big layoff announcement came, a UPS guy dropped something off at M--k's file room and said, "Wow I'm surprised this building's still open. Remind me again when they said they'd be closing it?" :-\

Likewise, the Don Pablos restaurant up my way waited to announce that they were closing(permanently) until the end of the employees' dinner shift, too.

Same thing happened at this one store at the mall. They had 75% off clearances for an entire month or so before the management finally admitted to the employees that they would be closing in a week(but then again, it's kinda obvious that the writing is on the wall with the clearances, you know?).

A lot of managements just don't have much consideration for the employees these days, unfortunately.
