Hello, all,

Okay, so this is a very strange situation. My assistant manager at my new club walked me out to my car last night (someone always walks us to our cars, this time it just happened to be him) and along the way he approached me about working on the side as a private dancer for some high-rollers he knows. Apparently, he's done this before with dancers -- without the clubs knoweledge, of course -- but they've been flaky and he wants me to try. I've pretty much decided not to do it because I feel like he's trying to hustle the hustler, if you know what I mean, but the money he's talking about sounds tempting.

Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening? Also, are the numbers he's quoting (1-5,000) anything NEAR correct for a private show?

Like I said, I'm not all that into it. I was just curious what y'all thought.

Don't do it..it could be a set up to get you fired. Plus, you dont know him or the "hi-rollers" he knows and what they are about.

And no, you would not be making that kind of money in 1 private show...possible but nah I doubt it.

Its probably a private show and yea, you may get $1000-5000 but youre not going to be giving lap dances if you know what I mean....this is probably a way asst manager makes extra $$ on the side...some girls are willing to go home with men for extra cash... he may have just thought you may be interested (dunno why?)...

Just tell him youre not interested but thanks for the offer... :) No need to go into "so you think im a freaking hooker?!" and start riffs at work.. just be nice and tell him no...

Your assistant manager is a pimp. I'd stay away from him; he doesn't have your best interests in mind.

$1-5000 for a private show? Nope. Maybe for sex with a porn star, or a gang bang with a dancer.

Just think, would you be flaky for $1-5000? Sounds to me like a euphanism for girls freaking out once they find out that a private show is not as described. Your insticts are right listen to them.

I operate a stripper agency in Connecticut:

I wouldn't recommend it; some of my dancers try to work independently, but for every decent party there are twice as many more horrific incidents from working outside an agency or club, so be please be careful.

If you are going to do it, try to find out as much details as possible. Ask how many guys will be there, are you the only girl dancing, how long do you have to work, how much are they paying you to walk-in, etc., if the person setting this up can't give you good answers, I wouldn't do it ...

Also, make sure you are very clear about your limitations ... especially if you only intend to dance, that way nobody's time is being wasted.

I would also bring someone with me ... I would let the hiring party know in advance. If they have a problem with that, I wouldn't do it ... good luck

i told this guy numerous times that I don't do anything "extra," and he seemed to be okay with it, but mostly I think overall he's full of bullshit.

i never planned to go through with it, i just thought it was curious.

I've heard of that kind of thing going on specifically at some clubs in your area, though the rumors were long enough ago that I don't have specifics: I believe your manager's special customers are wanting private HORIZONTAL dances. :P

sounds a little shady to me.... its most def more than just lap dances if you know what i mean... unless you know this guy really well, i wouldn't look into it...

The reason why you'll have better luck going through an agency is because the agency will get ID and credit card info on the customer BEFORE they send a dancer. So that way you don't show up to do the party and everyone forgets to pay the dancer. Or worse, they think you are a prostitute, and refuse to pay you because you aren't providing "promised" services. The agency can still collect your fee, even if the customer sends you away.

So if you wish to do parties, the money can be very good. Just use common sense, and maybe look into an agency that can train you before you try book your own shows.

I'm with smartcookie. The guy is a pimp and he's trying to recruit you. Your instincts are correct - he's full of shit. The girls get 'flaky' on him because once they find out what his 'parties' are really about they don't want to do it anymore. If you're not into hooking, just politely turn him down - tell him you're only interested in working at the club, thanks but no thanks. Smile, walk away.

I totally agree with you guys, but I just think it's funny... I told this guy REPEATEDLY that I would not perform ANY extras, and was not comfortable with things that many private dancers do, like dildo shows. He kept saying, fine, fine, his custy's were married anyway and didn't want that stuff...

Maybe he thinks he can talk me into it after awhile or something. I dunno. And I don't care. I will keep working ITC only.

This is a common promise from "recruiters." A girl is told that "you don't have to do anything you don't want to do" just to get her into the situation. Once she's there, she'll be pressured for more. Unpleasant, not to say dangerous.
