I went last weekend with a girlfriend, wish i saw this post before we went. Neither of us brought our birth certificates.

Anywho can anyone recommend a cheap hotel? We stayed at the Wild Wild West on Trop and it was scary ghetto. The inside was decent tho.

I use tripres.com to find good rates. Just put in the dates you're going to be here and it gives you rates for all the rooms for those dates. I love the site, you can find a room for $39 if you look there, even when the hotel says there booked or more expensive on the phone. They reserve rooms for these sites.

whats the best way to go about finding a club in vegas? i went back in dec by myself and i had a horrible time and picked a really bad club. this time one of my gfs is coming with me. i wanted to check out the rhino but i was told they dont allow piercings and i honestly dont see the point in me taking them out just for one club so they can grow up.....do they pay that much attention, i thought about getting reinforcements, clear thingys, put in...but is that club really good to work at? i dunno i just need some places to go to and see......

I would recommend coming out and going to a couple clubs as a customer. That way you can get an idea of what it's like and how it's run. What kind of club are you currently working at? How many girls, do you go on stage a lot or do you hate the stage? Do you have high end VIPs or just lap dances? If you work at a club that is significantly different from what you're used to then you're going to be unhappy and uncomfortable. You need to find a club you like and if it is different than what you're used to then you need to consider that you may not do well at first because you need to get used to it.

funny thing is, i tried that last time i was there....half the clubs wouldnt let me in cause i was by myself and the whole prostitution thing..now ill be with one of my gfs this time so maybe it will be different, and i even told them i was looking for a new club to work at and they just diidnt treat me as a customer instead they just tried to give me a tour and talk me into working there. it was really bad.......i keep trying to get my bf to go with me but its hard cause of his job, oh well we will figure it out...oh yeah one other thing..i spent a shitload in cabfares.....so im thinking renting a car is gonna be cheaper for me this time out.......how hard is it to find places there LOL

Let me know when you're coming out, I'll try to help. A lot of clubs are like that, where they don't want women to come in by themselves. If you're with a girlfriend it would probably be the same. Did you ask them if you could just sit and watch for a while, usually if you ask they'll let you. When you say "how hard is it to find places" are you talking about places to work or to stay??

To work in las vegas you must have a sherrifs card and a bussiness license. The Sherrifs card has the address you obtain such on the referal slip you receive from your manager that hires you at the club and the cost is 45 dollars under 25 you must have a birth certifigate and all applicants must have 2 forums of ID. Some places require fingerprinting which is usually an aditional fee of 50 dollars but I think this has passed. The Bussiness
License is obtainable at The Grant Sawyer Building which is located on Washington and Las Vegas Blvd at the Department of Taxiation office and it's 100 dollars. I hope this helps

no i already have places to stay we just book our flights and hotel in one so its cheaper..im basically paying for the flight..........i have my license's already.....i finally just got my business thingy in the mail that i had done like back in dec...i didnt know what to do or anything and just gave the money the club, stupid stupid stupid, but hey at least i finally got it. and now i know better to just take my gf and everything.....its clubs that im having a hard time..at each one i went to and asked them if i could just look around and stuff they still just gave me the tour and then expected me to "audition" it was a lil aggravating. but i probably wasnt going to the right ones. so any suggestions on which ones are good for me to go to. the club i work in is a very nice club, not trashy and no i do not have tattoos... lol we are very spoiled lol...i checked out scores but i didnt like the vibe i got from there.....sooo any help with what clubs to check out would be greatly appreciated..i know this is a mixture of club chat and whats required, sorry to put it in the wrong one..

What didn't you like about Scores?

How many girls are you used to and comfortable working with?

Do you want to go on stage often? Do you enjoy going on stage?

Would you be comfortable wearing a gown? What do you normally wear?

What kinds of VIP, if any, are you used to or would you rather do dances on the floor?

How much are you currently making, on average, at your own club?

the sherifs card office has changed, but yougotta get hired first to get one anyway. Go audition, and when you decide which club you wanna try first, they give you papers saying you are hired there, and youtake em to the office to get your card. The club will direct you to where the sheriff's office is. Then, after you start working, if you don't like your club, or you just wanna try elsewhere, ( which as there are so many clubs i highly recommend doing so) then once you got your sherrifs card and business lic, you can go work where ever you like. You can even work at 3 different clubs at once....it's not like anyone has to know, just keep quiet.

Also.....here's a tip - when getting your sherrifs card or business licence, go in about half an hour before the office is due to close - this way, as they all wanna get home, they will have you in and out in no time !!! Trust me, i always do this, it works at quick care centers too!!!! Hey otherwise, you could be at that damn sherrifs office 3 hours!

Good luck y'all!

Gerry.

ROEBOAT,

hi, i know what you are going through re getting time to look at the club, but hey, you can as the others said, either go in with a friend, or look at it this way:- i've a lotta experience there, and until you actually start working somewhere, you'll never really know how it is to be there. I mean, you may see everything looking fine when you are there, and then not till working there do you discover what else may go on. In the same token, you may see something going down you don't like the look of, but once you start working there, you see the place gives you the capacity to work how YOU want, and still make good $.
The great thing with Vegas is, that once you have all your permits, you can go anywhere. So try a place out, if you don't like it, go elsewhere the next night till you find the place for you. You may have to spend several nights at one place to know if it's gonna work $ wise, but again, you have the freedom to club hop with ease, so just go for it, the worlds your oyster out there!

Gerry.

I always stay at the Palace Station. Lots of geezers but it's nice, cheap and pretty close to most of the clubs.

I work at the Rhino and have my nose pierced. They make me take out my nose ring everytime I work. It's part of the rules for working there.. It's really not that big of a deal. I just put it back in after work and the money is worth it.

I find I make more money without my piercing in anyways..

do you think i would need a rental car in las vegas? i would need to get my sherrif's card and business license plus auditioning at the strip clubs.. or would it be just cheaper to get a taxi everywhere?

i am under 25 so if i get a rental car.. i have to pay $25+ on top of everything else..

I always get a rental car in Vegas. It is so much cheaper and more reliable to have a car at your disposle than relying on cabs. But if you are under 25, I am not sure....

Vegas is not the sort of town you want to be without a car. It's not a city with a huge availability of cabs you can flag down when you need one. You can get cabs at most major hotels and strip clubs but then if you want to go someplace off the strip you may have to call in for one and wait 10-20 minutes. Also they are expensive. As for accommodations, I haven't read all the posts here so not sure if someone has already suggested but try Budget Suites. They are weekly rentals, central to everything and come with fully equipped kitchen etc... They are decent and popular with dancers. I have lived in Vegas 20 years although I'm not there now, but if you have any questions about the city, feel free to PM me. I haven't worked dancing there in awhile though as I prefer to travel for work so I'm not entirely up to date on all the new SC there. I have a several good, trustworthy friends who do real-estate there as well if you need help with housing.

in my case.. if i was to get a rental car for 1 week.. it would cost me $600 total on alamo because I am under 25.. so in that case.. i think taking the taxi is much more cheaper

At sapphire the valet guys will take you home or back to your hotel, and you just give them a tip. Its cheaper than a cab, and its a safe ride home. You can also call them and get picked up. I dont know if other clubs will do this as well.

how long does it take to receive your business license in the mail?

Tina

You don't need the actual license to work. The receipt you get is sufficient. You can work the same day you do the paperwork and pay for your license.

Yes. They barely do a backround search on you. They are particulary looking for things in Las Vegas within a certain short time frame. And they are very lenient. Purpose of a sherriffs card? If you end up dead or missing they know who you are. If you commit a crime they know how to find you. The whole process seems alot more intimidating to read about online than it actually is.

The bizz license only takes about a week to be mailed to your address, but as Tina said you can work with the receipt

WARNING: If you are a black dancer DO NOT count on making money in Vegas. Five of the top ten clubs in Vegas simply will not give you fair consideration. In other words, racism is rampant in the hiring. I do not say this lightly. Spearmint Rhino for example has 100 white dancers for every 1 black dancer. Speak to black bouncers who've worked many clubs and they will confirm the very vicious practice and suggest black-friendly clubs.

Come with enough money to return home after paying for your hotel, Sherriff's card, and cabs.

I could not agree more. SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Further, if you are one of the few Black gals that actually get hired, you are probably going to have a very light skintone.

Quoted for truth. If you are a black girl, I suggest you take a blonde haired blue-eyed friend with you to increase your chances of getting hired. I've taken a black girlfriend to Vegas before and have seen racism towards her in front of my eyes.

Also, the more you can Barbie up your look, the better chances of them hiring you.

Girl 1: She is pretty and young, nice natural body. We audition at Seamless. He doesn't even have us change or anything. He looks me up and down, then her, and says, "you yes, her no". That's all and we left. I've heard the manager there is racist before, so that leads me to believe that's why she was not hired.

Girl 2: She is not as pretty, a bit older, big fake boobs, kinda thick, but tight thick. At Rhino for 3AM shift. John looks at her ass, which is pretty big, but no cheese or anything, very firm, and just wrinkles his face in disgust. I thought he was going to tell her to leave right then, but he just walked away. John is not fond of black girls and if he is, he wants you white-washed, straight up.

My friends always found work in Vegas and made good money once they got hired. It was just always a bit of run around to get them hired. Girl 1 was too intimidated to even try for night shift at Rhino. I'm not sure John would have hired her, but then again he hired her in her clothes for the 3am, so maybe. Girl 2 tried for night shift and didn't get hired, big surprise.

I'm not trying to discourage any black girls from going to Vegas. Just be prepared for it the best you can. Like I said, the more you can Barbie yourself up the better. I'm talking long white girl weave, perfect makeup, lashes, tight toned body, your best outfits, everything. Perfectly polished super stripper Barbie. That's what sells best in most markets anyway and Vegas especially.

Umm...honestly, an overweight dancer will be very hardpressed to find a job as a stripper in Las Vegas. There is a slim to none chance of getting hired at the good clubs...and although a slightly better chance at the smaller, less appealing clubs, still not good. Vegas rally does require you to be in pretty decent shape. Add in the fact that she is black, and her odds go down even further. She will unfortunatly be very hard pressed to get hired at most clubs in Vegas.

So I'm super paranoid about the sheriff's card and business license, since I hide what I do from most of my family. Would either of these indicate the sex industry, or are they very general? My occupation is something I'd rather reveal in my own time, and if it's not traceable through legal paperwork, all the better.

Hello~
Okay, I am going BACK to work in Vegas. {I quit when I got pregnant 4 years ago} and I remember when I started the clubs would hire you no problem, but some of them got a little butt sore when you needed referral paperwork. They wanted you to have your sheriffs card already, OR they were out of paperwork, etc.
Is there anyone who knows for a fact, or could ask @ their club if they have referral paperwork?
Any ideas?
My old sheriffs card is expired, and I know you can't just renew without REFERRAL PAPERWORK (argh).
