Sticky indeed. It's amazing how often I see this topic and want to post info to help but it is so repetitive.

RE the licensing/registering stuff -- does this in any way flag you for taxes? Does LV or Nevada expect you to file business tax forms or anything?
And does the business license identify you as an entertainer?

I have been dancing in Canada for 5 years now- looking for a change of scenery, I am a Canadian Citizen.. Just wondering if anyone knows if Canadians can go down to Vegas to work in the clubs?? Do we need Visa's at all of the clubs, and if so does anyone know how to go about it?

Can anyone tell me if I have to have the physical business license card/certificate in my hands before I can work at the clubs which require it? I'm in Las Vegas now & have my sheriff's card, but all I can find is the website which will mail the business license. Obviously that will take time & if necessary, I'd prefer a physical address to go to in person if I need it immediately. Thank you for any information.

Hey! So I'm a naturalized US citizen (yay!) but my birth certificate shows that I was born outside of the country. I'm almost 22...was going to go to Vegas this summer. Will they accept my foreign birth certificate or will I need more stuff? My situation is a little strange.

You DO NOT need a business license to start working at a strip club in Vegas. Usually they give you a week after you start working to get one. I worked at Hustler for almost 3 months before I got mine. And Rhino doesn't require it at all. You need an $8 SCOPE to work at Rhino. For traveling dancers, don't even bother with a business license.

Thank you so much for the information! I've been working at Rhino LV for a few months but I'm excited to try the other clubs too. I guess I'll go ahead & audition in the next day or two. Yay!

Do you by any chance know if Sapphire makes you get one?

I just auditioned at Sapphire last night. Yes, you need the biz license there. I don't have mine yet, but they offered to let me work without it for the night. I'm getting it online today.

Do you need to go get hired at night if you want to work night shift? I want to be able to go and immediately get my licenses so I can work the following evening, but can't really do that if everything is closed. Additionally are Sapphire or Rhino gown clubs? Do they require double lined t backs with everything you wear? Really need to find a gold one :P

at rhino you need to be hired by night management for night shift, so go around 9pm. you could do both auditions in one night, if you go to sapphire after rhino. at sapphire, they are less particular about shifts, I really just come & go whenever I want. neither are gown clubs, although you can wear them at sapphire. I tried to wear one at rhino & the manager told me I wasn't allowed to. I honestly still don't know about the t-backs but all mine are lined anyway.

Now I'm confused about the licenses too. Another post said you need your bizz license and sherifs card before auditioning but I thought you needed a referral o_O

Did you need an LV address to do this or do you just work with the receipt and it'll go to your out of state address later?
OzymandiasOC
05-31-2015, 08:49 AM
you do not need the biz license or the sheriff's card to audition. after the audition, you will receive the referral to go to the police station & get the sheriff's card. you must have the sheriff's card before you can work, so make sure to audition Sun-Thurs because the place to get the sheriff's card is closed Sat & Sun. you don't need the biz license to start work although it won't hurt to have it the night you start. you get that online so it won't matter what day of the week.
you do not need a local LV or Nevada address, just your social security card & your birth certificate. the sheriff's card is not mailed, you'll receive it before you leave the police station same day. the biz license, you can print out if you have access to a printer. I just saved an image of mine to my phone and showed the club same day I paid for it because all they really need is the license number & proof that it has your name on it.

Oh my god is it true you need to do a stage audition at Sapphire? T_T

no I didn't do that & I got hired less than a month ago. you just put on a 2 piece outfit and the manager gives you a look over to see if they like you. no dancing or stages involved.

^ well what if it's a tight black dress? I don't wear two pieces anymore bc I'm thicker & one piece dresses look better on me for my curves. Has anyone done this before with success? Also, how picky are they at Sapphire these days? I got hired 3 yrs ago but havent been back since 2012, I called them awhile back & they said I was still in their system, all I had to do was have my biz license and go thru orientation again...whatever that means

You can wear the dress on the floor while working but for the audition, my understanding is that it must be a two piece outfit. that's what they specifically ask you to change into. they definitely want to get a look at your tummy. I believe this is standard for all the clubs in LV. I mean you could try claiming you didn't bring a two piece with you & maybe they'll let you audition in a dress but I can't give you any idea if they'll let you. good luck!

What time should I go to Sapphire to audition if I want to get my licenses done the same day? Ie what time do these places close?
OzymandiasOC
06-04-2015, 09:29 AM
I don't think you can get the sheriff's card same day. the police station that issues them probably closes 4:30-5:30, not sure exactly. you should go audition anytime after 9pm, so it's basically you audition at night then get the sheriff's card the next morning. the business license you get online so you can do that same night as the audition if you want to.

well you could try. the worst they can do is ask you to come back after 9pm. maybe you get lucky and they do it then anyway!

Ok sorry to be a constant nuisance but I got hired at Sapphire and need to get a business license. It seems like there are a multitude of websites to use and they gave me 0 info on it so is this Silverflume page correct? And it's $200? For some reason I thought it was less...
OzymandiasOC
06-05-2015, 04:10 PM
Yes just go through silverflume. and 200 is correct. sorry they didn't give you more info. I asked a couple times to make sure I didn't leave without it. but you should be able to work a couple days without it as long as you got the sheriff's card first.

Tada, me again! Would Rhino let me work one day without the SCOPE card? I am not sure I want to go back to Sapphire tomorrow. For reasons lol.
OzymandiasOC
06-06-2015, 08:57 AM
no I don't think they will. you absolutely have to do the background check within 24hrs of being hired. but seeing as it's the weekend... not sure how that affects their policies. if you haven't auditioned there yet, you can try going in at 9pm since that's when they hold auditions. the worst they can say is no, and you could go back to sapphire if you wanted since their house fee won't change between 8pm-2am anyway. or try treasures, hustler etc. but I haven't auditioned at anywhere else so I can't give you info on them.

I thought scope had to do with alcohol sales? I have the sheriffs card.
OzymandiasOC
06-06-2015, 11:10 AM
ok wait now I'm trying to recall details exactly... the scope is background, I it's TAM that's the alcohol awareness card. the TAM card you have 30 days after hire to get. the background check has to be done right away.
LadyVader
06-06-2015, 03:26 PM
This city is so confusing lol I thought the sheriffs card WAS proof of background check @
[email protected] ok so no Rhino til this week when I get scope and tam.

Are there any clubs that are a bit more rock n roll here or super popular full nude clubs that might be as good as Rhino/Sapphire?

Did you ever find a Vegas club that is more rock n roll? I also have the alternative look to me, so I would like an alternative-friendly club.
Also, does anyone know if I have tattoos or a monroe piercing on my face if I will have trouble getting hired or have to remove my piercing? It looks so stupid having a hole in my face.
Also, I have half my head shaved and the other longer side is still a short inverted bob... should I wear a wig to my audition or just bring them with me just in case?? I already have three, and I wear them when required or when I get bored. I just left Denver a couple weeks ago and when I worked there they told me I had to wear a wig to work, so I already had them with me from earlier in my trip.

Club Paradise is right across the street from the hard rock hotel and sees much of their business come from there. Perhaps that might make for the type of work environment you are seeking? I don't know for sure. I got hired there but never worked, though if I were heading back to Vegas for work, I would check that place out for sure.

Possibly heading back out next month to catch the end of convention season. Has it been good this year? I know you have to wear a two piece to audition at Rhino, but can you wear whatever while you work or does your butt need to be covered? Planning my wardrobe :)

No one seemed to mention that traveling dancers that work at rhino have to re audition if they haven't worked in over 30 days
Kristalina
05-16-2016, 10:24 AM
My understanding (from mgmt) since I recently asked was that you only have to re-audition if your figure changes. If you look the same as when you left you can come right back and clock in like normal.

Oh I called rhino before I left just to make sure I wouldn't have aNy issues working and the girl was like honey if it's been 30 days you need to re audition for John. Went in and acted like I worked the last night and everything was cool. Was just taken back when I called and she told me that, as I come from Ohio and in the event I didn't get hired again for some bizarre reason that would mess my whole trip up.

Do we need a Sheriff Card and a Business License in Vegas? Or is the Sheriff Card alone enough to work at most clubs?

Heading back out, Vegas take 3! I hope third time is the charm because it's sucked for me the last two years. Someone just mentioned Paradise. I heard Hustler is good for alt girls but more of a local crowd. I'm just going to shop around and see where I do well. Hopefully that somewhere exists this time. New boobs and new lips so fingers crossed!

Crazy horse 3 is the only one that made me dance. They had me get up for like 30 seconds and take my top off. Sapphire, rhino, treasures and cheetahs all just looked me up and down.

Hi, I am a citizen of Romania currently working as a dancer in London. I would like to work in the US in the future, particularly Las Vegas and New York. Would the clubs require me to obtain this Sheriff's card in order to work? Am I required by law to do so? I would be on a tourist visa. I am not trying to do anything illegal.
