Has anyone (especially women of color) been recently? I've been seeing a lot of mixed reviews and I'm trying to decide between Iceland and Guam. Any new info would be greatly appreciated ;)

^^ Personally I have not been to either place but I have heard good things about Iceland for WOC. On the downside I've also heard that eating expenses and etc are pretty expensive out there, and they tax out the ass. So maybe you should look a little more deeper into that. You want it to be as much profitable as possible you know. Good luck on whatever you decide though.

Good luck getting any real follow-through from the "agent" in Iceland. Its always something....computer's not working, etc. etc.:-\

In my fairly brief experience, it is ***hellishly*** expensive, 50% higher than Tokyo (roughly speaking) for stuff like eating in restaurants (and, while not bad quality, also nothing to brag about re quality or quantity). I think that Reykjavik would routinely be counted as the most expensive city in the world except that it is so small that it is not usually included in such surveys.

(Btw, these are prices at peak tourist season, mid-summer; it may be cheaper in the winter...though I don't know.)

The prizes for food is the same all the year around. Shopping in general (cloths, shoes, name it) is what is hellish : )

Keep in mind that the prizes are high but the sallary is allso. Its expensive if you earned the money from somewhere else (compared to the currency) but not if you earned the money in Iceland.

About the color, white, black and latin girls is the most common. Haven't seen the rest of the color scheme yet at least.

I am seriously contemplating going over to Iceland this summer. I just want to know if it would be worth it.

Right...and much the same as with the Tokyo SC scene (with which I am much more familiar), but it cuts both ways: The prices aren't as bad as they sound if you are earning money there, but at the same time, the high earnings there aren't as good as they sound if you also have to spend the income (at least partly) there. Back in the days when the money was really great in Tokyo clubs, I had many dancers tell me that they were making more money than they had ever dreamed possible but also spending more than they ever imagined...and thus came out not that much better off. I suppose it must be somewhat the same story in Reykjavik.

i have bin looking at what girls say about working here in iceland and well i have to say it most off it is total bull.
maxims has bin closed for years and casino also,
most the girls i have worked with here in iceland dont work they come here for a party and get hung up on a man with in the first week and then say they dont make anything

i work now only 3 days a week and i make verry good monny, and yes you do have to pay tax when you work here.
i have never made no monny i usaly make about 750 up to about 1800 us for my 3 days off work.
the thing in iceland is if you work you WILL GET PAYD.
there are some girls who wright on this web about iceland that i know got fierd for partying and drugs and come on here and talk crap,
i have bin working sins 1995 as a dancer and i have worked with a lot off girls from all over, the proplem in iceland is that the club ovners get mostly east euro dancers to keep the costs down for the club cause to get a dancer to iceland the clubs pay to the agent, for exemble jason in laptastic, i am sorry to say but east euro dancers almost all do extra no matter what the ruels off the clubs are ,
i am sorry if i pist any one off whit this but i had to say some thing most the info on iceland are way WRONG.
you dont need a agent to work here you can contact the club your self.
clubs in iceland now are

club vegas

club odal

club bohem

club goldfinger

club strawberry, that one is verry hig class and it is a GO GO club.

these are the only clubs in iceland.

Bohem and goldfinger have the same owner,he had maxims befor.
if i was to say what would be the best club to work for i would have to say Vegas ,strawberry and Odal,

There is an article I posted up the other day about a caribbean dancer who works at Goldfingers. She said it's the best club..Kyra, why do you say Vegas, strawberry and Odal are the best clubs?

I'm confused by these reviews. In one someone says "try this club, its the best", then in another someone says "don't go, they take all of your money".

I smell fish.................

JustJayda

ummm, fish! I know I've said it b4, but I'm saying it again. Whoever (Marga) is handling getting US girls over to Iceland to work, is really lacking in follow-through.

excuses, excuses, excuses. I wish I could say I was getting blown off, but I honestly don't think that was the case. I smell laziness...and fish.

As soon as one of us (SW gal) works in Iceland on the strength (because of) this thread, I'll retract my accusation/s.

You almost made me call you the__word. Please don't tell tales. I was in direct communication with you via my aol email account, and then you fell off the planet.

I emailed you several times, after you fell off, and received no response. Jayda does not play about her "paper" (cash). If you'd sent me anything, I would have been on it like a smoker puffin' on ready-rock.

And 4 times?? C'mon homie! God doesn't believe that!

I'm only speaking up in hopes that the interested girls will finally get some help from ya'll.

Yo, I say bump the middleman/woman and contact the club directly. I think madmaxine once said that to avoid agents because most of the time, they will dump you in a funky club just to get their fees, she was speaking from experience. I would google the club you're interested in, read some reviews, and go from there. I'm getting so many mixed feeling about the reviews(on SW) about these clubs that I really don't trust what anyone says anymore. And it REALLY makes me suspicious when they're written in jankey ass english (hint hint).

I GOT YA BACK JAYDA!!!

well...what can i say is,if you want to try iceland you can look around the web to search about the clubs and you will find a lot of different inos and unreal bullshit as well...you could always go on holyday and take a look too...

For my experience, i would say if you wanna try it,the most serious club is odal, but at the moment i don t think any us girl could be hired because of some EU policy, you can always try to ask these rules change all the time...
But if you are told it is easy to us girls to work there, then most probably there is something wrong, watch out.

At the moment of the post looking for us girls i think the EU rules about working in there for non-european people were different...

Good luck and maybe see you in there someday!

ah for cinnamonkisses...
I wouldn t say Goldfinger is the best club around there, i know few girls that have been there and went away,well...it depends what kind of dancers they are.And i can t say anything about other things because i haven t been there myself.
If you can work with prostitutes, and you don t care sure you can try...
For the cronaque, the only club there with good security and cameras is odal...maybe because it is in the center of the capital city.
But in any case i advise again to us girls before trying iceland to check about the rules of EU about NON-EU members workers in iceland.Just to be safe...
