hey greenilady,

oh and according to the show 20 million americans are living in sexless marriages or sleeping seperately...you're certainly not alone!

Over 180 million americans in total are married(out of about 275 million), so 20 million is only about 20%, so maybe most are all old folks or have medical or physical problems.

Maybe I'm just weird... but keeping separate bedrooms, separate finances, and not having sex doesn't sound like a marriage to me. Sounds like you're roommates with paperwork.

I have insomnia so I have trouble sleeping to begin with. I love sharing my bed. I sleep so much better and fall asleep quicker with someone next to me. That and its comforting and makes me happy to curl up beside someone I care about. I

You could be talking about my situation to a tee! I have bad outbreaks of insomnia, where i don't sleep for several days at a time, and eventually end up throwing up/passing out in random places from the exhaustion! Always there to some degree, but it can go for months at a time at that severe point, no sleep medication has helped...

my boyfriend and I still live separate, but we spend the majority of nights sleeping together, and those are the ONLY times i comfortably sleep for more than 3-4 hours, and at all... I'd go insane without htat. But i'm lucky with him... He doesn't snore much(only a little on his back), and isn't particularly restless, though sometimes it keeps me up(which i would be anyways) when he changes positions...

If I Dont Sleep, He Definately Doesnt Get Any Sleep!!! Lol! Our Neighbours Have A Stupid Dog That Barks At All Hours Of The Night, And Usually Im Always The Last To Fall Asleep Between Us, So I Curse And Move Around Til He Wakes Up And Calls The Neighbors To Fuss The Dog!!! :d

Its Soo Weird Not Having Him Next To Me At Night :( We Usually Interlock Our Feet, And Its Become Habit Now.. So When Hes Not In The Bed, I Grab For His Feet And Just Get Sad That Hes Not Next To Me :( :(

Hmm.. I never really considered it. My boyfriend and I have been living together for almost a year, and we have always shared a bed. We both have our idiosyncracies .. I talk in my sleep (sometimes), and he snores, although he won't admit to it. But his snoring (or my REM-convos) was never so bad that we needed to be separated in order to sleep. If it's so bad, he really should seek help.
I remember watching shows like I Love Lucy, and they slept in separate beds, and I thought it was the craziest thing...like, why did people do that back then? But then I found out it was only for TV for modesty. Couples should be able to share a bed. Most of the time, it's a joy.

Most people sleep better alone. But, couples sleep together because of the intimacy!

I agree with this. However, since I've started living w/ my man, I have so much trouble sleeping alone. No matter how tired I am.. it sucks. But I don't even need him to touch me or anything, it's just knowing he's there and I can pass out like that *snaps*. I think it's a comfort/safety thing.
