I just found this site- it has samples of all the tracks for sale. You can buy the MP3 directly or oder it on CD or vinyl. Enjoy.

I love it, thanks! This is exactly what I need to check stuff out before I buy it. The CD store I go to will let you do that, but asking them to open up 4-5 shrink-wrapped Cds to buy one of them isn't something I like to do, lol...

And I'm seriously overdue for some new stuff from my favorite genre, now that I actually have time to breathe.

Hmm... some of my favourites are BT, Hybrid, Tiesto, DJ Rap. Generally, most of their music is awesome.

Brand new sheet. I can't even find them to burn.

You Got Me Feeling- Cicada (Cicada remix)
Drummin- Alec Wizz (Redkone remix)

Cicada seems to do a lot of remixing, I just went on Lime wire and found quite a few. There was one that was pretty good--"Crazy" (Cicada Vocal Mix) by Andy Bell, former singer for Erasure, so I'm told. It was more pop-oriented than I usually like, but I was impressed.

Tell me more about Cicada, Avacheetahs, you seem to know quite a bit about this stuff (and I need to catch up, lol).

avacheetahs
05-23-2006, 12:45 AM
I don't know that much about Cicada to be honest. I heard the particular track I mentioned on Juno and fell in love. By the way, I found it on LimeWire today. It's listed as "You Got Me Feeling" (Cicada Dub). There's only one user that has it so far so it may take a little while. I found the "Drummer" song that I have to have on there too. I love that website!

Also another more obscure artist I like is Hook the Captain. I dance to "I'll Follow You" and "Temple"

It's more down tempo so I usually do it early in the evening. I love the lyrics. Do you still play "Stella" by Jam and Spoon? It's on the Dave Ralph Transport CD we talked about earlier in the thread. This is without a doubt my most secretest weapon i have. It always gets people off their arses.

What are you downloading these days?

What you've been posting, lol...

I am still emerging from a near terminal case of Burnout--going to look for new music and DLing it was the furthest thing from my mind, in spite of my having gotten this nice new laptop for that very purpose, lol--too much like work, and work sucked.

It's nice to get back into the groove, and I have been fun getting the stuff you and others here in Music Mix have been recommending. When I start finding stuff on my own, I'll definitely let you know...

Isolabella

Juno is decent but I prefer Beatport (owned by John Acquaviva) for the genre categories, selection and sound quality of the previews. I use www.nfodb.com (http://www.nfodb.com) for full release info and Soulseek (Limewire blows) for all electronic music. In there under the same name uncapitalized, say "hi".

Ok, I just installed Soulseek, and am putting some good stuff in my computer from CDs, I'll be in touch soon--Limewire is great for mainstream stuff, but I need more.

Thanks for reminding me of it, lol...

Awesome. I have some strip club friendly edits of my fave tracks you're more than welcome to. (shorter intros (not too short), and more vocals etc)
New favorite I heard at Detroit's Electronic Music Festival. (Editing it now ;) )
The original reminds me of Satisfaction.

Kobbe & Austin Leeds - Possessed (Martin Accorsi Seductive Beatz) (2006)
Kobbe & Austin Leeds - Possessed (Original) (2006)

Lyric snippet:
"Sleazy, I want your lips. Filthy, I want your kiss. Nasty, I want your whip. Dirty, I feel possessed." etc

Are you from Detroit? So am I--in fact I just moved back from Ann Arbor a year ago, and I also have a lot of family up there.

I have heard Detroit has a great techno scene, but where I was at in Ann Arbor was a rather strange situation (don't even ask, lol)--fortunately, it was fairly brief, but we didn't get to detroit much, and never to see any techno DJs.

You don't have to say if you are from there, I respect your privacy, but do tell about the Detroit techno scene...

Isolabella

Around there, close to the airport. Love Ann Arbor. I've been eating sushi there for years. Yum
I lurked here more than I posted for a long time and remember reading some of your posts about the area.
As far as the music scene goes, I don't get out as often as I'd like anymore, but Blue is my favorite club. http://www.bleudetroit.com/ And then wherever someone my bf or I like is spinning. The festival was great too, can't wait to go again next year. I can't really post anything else on the subject, but there's chat in soulseek.

i don't have much of a clue when it comes to techno but in august 2005 a girl was dancing to a new instrumental tune onstage in Mallorca.
It s v sexy and a bit hypnotic but havent a clue what it was!
I know this is a long shot but any ideas? :)

Isolabella
06-01-2006, 01:14 PM
Awe, I love you too Avacheetahs! ;)

Anney Dancer, huge long shot, without knowing if it's new, old, house or trance (best bet) etc... But you might want to listen to some samples of Tiesto. The girls at my bf's club request him a lot.
New recommendations:

Tom Stephan and D. Ramirez - Shake it Baby (Original Mix) (2006)
Lonny - Beat Me Up Tonight (Blindfolded Edit) (2006)
Nick Terranova - Electro F*ck (Electro F*ck Mix) (2006)
Rookie - I'll Do You (2006)
Stretch & Vern - Beats n Bones (Electro Mix, Club Mix or Radio Mix work well) (2005)
Dj Rooster and Sammy Peralta - Tonight (Starkillers Edit NY Style Mix) (2006)
Mischa Daniels - Off My Rocker (The Bad Mix) (2006)
Christian Hoff ft Crystal - Hooker (Original Mix) (2006) (lyrics: "I sell my ass for your cash. No refund or guarantee. You'll be pleased with my service. I will make you happy.")

Thanks Isolabella, i think it was a new track in 2005 and she used that then The World Is Mine - David Guetta (which is what i dance to atm)

I will Limewire all of those above and if anyone can think of anymore please post!

I have a friend who's a funky house dj in a big club, but what 'non-stripper' people think is a good song to dance to is often more of a dance tune than a sexy tune...

Speaking of Halcyon+On by Orbital...is there a danceable mix of this? I haven't found one, and since the original is about 9 minutes long with ups and downs, I need a good mix.

Love that song.

Hey Djnikadeemas, great list. I see quite a few tracks I've used for work and home listening, and some I'm just checking out now. Nice!

New hot track:
Martin Accorsi, Austin Leeds & Lo Fi Phunk - Disconnection (Original Mix) (2006) preview on beatport

One that slipped my mind:
Fonzerelli - Moonlight Party (Original, Radio(shorter), or Aaron McCleeland Summer Mix (2005) previews on audiojelly

OK, sorry it took me so long, but I wanted to wait until I had something good to share uploaded, and now I do.

Three songs from an obscure English CD that rock, to start with. If I had to lose all my CDs but one, this would be it, it's that good...

OK, "rock" is a bad choice of words--it's techno alright, and the sensuous kind--but with some power behind it.

I don't know how to chat on Soulseek, or how it works, but I'm ready to try.

My username there is 'Djoser12', and I'll try to be there as much as possible.

I'm trying to figure it out right now, lol--maybe I need to list the song titles, that might help you--you could try searching for them.

Whoops! I saved them incorrectly--fixing that now--but here are the names:

"Dream Beam" (Danny Rampling Mix), by Hypnotone
"Soon" (Andy Weatherall Mix), by My Bloody Valentine
"Cascades" (Hypnotone Mix), by Sheer Taft

It's taking a while to resave the files from the CD--it should be about a half hour--then they'll be up in Soulseek, if you (or anyone else here who is interested) can find them in there, lol.

Later--they're up now.

Hey, sorry to leave you guys hanging.

Avacheetahs: John Creamer & Stephane K - I Wish You Were Here
Try the PMT Remix, Lexicon Avenue Remix, Envy Remix, Main Mix, Original Mix, or the 16B Remix. The Original and Lexicon Avenue might be the most popular/uptempo, but I don't have my external with me to check.

Re Soulseek: To add a user, right click in the "User" box (top right side of window), click "add to list" and type a name. (I'm signed in now, but I haven't been home in a few days)
There are tons of tips I'll gadly help you out with when I'm home, but I can get you started with a few here.
Click options/file sharing configuration/select save folder to designate where you want your downloads to go. Then click add shared folder, you can add more than one folder and specify whether everyone or just people in your user list have access to each folder. (I don't share the folder I save my downloads to because it's so unorganized) A good tip: Add yoursef to your user list, right click on your name and click "Browse files" to make sure that you are sharing. Most people will ban you if you are not.
If you would like a user to be abe to upload files to you right click on their name in the user list and click "add user to upload permitted list". (Good idea to add me to that list. I'm quite generous ;) )
Now the fun part for easier downloading: When your search results come up, click the "attributes" bar and then "in queue" bar along the top of your results window. This puts the blacklettered ones (no waiting line) and better bitrates at the top for you.
I then right click on the file I want and click "get user info". If it says accepts downloads from all, I just download, userlist only, I add them to my userlist etc. If their info won't come up even after trying a few times, odds are they won't be able to see my files or info, and will likely ban me.
My boyfriend is giving me the Dave Chapelle's "Wrap it up" signal...lol So I have to go for now, but I hope this helps. Feel free to pm me here or hit me up sometime in Soulseek with any questions. Good luck!

Thanks--I'm there now, and I think you are too--but the message sending thing is confusing...

I am about to add a great megamix (to the share folder) I found while searching for something Yekhefah recommended--it's very unique to me, so in it goes...

Not much to share, so far--but rather than filling my list with a bunch of stuff everyone already has, I'd rather have it be special, even if it takes more time.

Thanks, Isolabella--and for those of you who like techno, she is a great friend to have, indeed...

There was also an interesting song called "Michelle Plays Ping Pong" (Vicarious Bliss Match Point Mix), by Daisy Daisy with some seriously sexy vocals--who is this woman? Gotta have more of her singing--actually it's more like she's talking, but in no ordinary fashion, lol...

PaigeDWinter,

(I despise Limewire, amateur burns, record company phonies, and I prefer full releases with nfo files) Soulseek is the program (free) for electronic music. The users are club DJs and electronic music fanatics. Their collections consist of professionally ripped vinyl, and digital releases, so you get a lot better sound quality. I also purchase tracks from www.beatport.com (http://www.beatport.com)
See page 6 for some of my tips on how to use the program, and if you get it add me to your user list. (I have all of the tracks I've mentioned, and most of what everyone else mentioned). Add both of my names: isolabella & isolabella_
I use the second one when I'm out of town, but I always have my external drive with me.
As is the case with electro house/prog house/tech house etc music, anything other than the radio edits is made for mixing and consists of long intros and instrumentals midway and end. I remix and edit my tracks specifically for work, and share these as well. They're scdj friendly with a little talk time beginning and ending too.

Hope to see you soon.
