When I don't dance to some pop and rap, I like to dance to alot of Marilyn Manson and some Korn. But Manson has gotta be my favorite to dance to. I love him!

Try a band called She Wants Revenge. I brought it to the club and girls "borrowed" it left and right .

The track I use it Tear You Apart.

Is it just me or is there a serious Joy Division vibe going on with She Wants Revenge? There are other good tracks on the cd, too.

A friend introduced a new band (Im pretty sure they are new) called Lacuna Coil. I really like "heaven's a lie". Im really loving rock stuff with chic vocals. If you want to listen they are at myspace.com/lacunacoil. *Damnit you guys have already heard it. That song was cool though.

Ah, one of my favorite subjects. Can I post here, or is this only for dancers/DJs to discuss tuneage in context of dancing... I guess we shall see!
New tool...sucks ass!Plz give it a little bit of a chance... it will grow on you... I really dig The Pot. Lyrically, MJK is operating at a higher level than ever. It helped to see many of the songs live on the recent theater tour! Show was Ama-zink!

The best stage dance I've seen in recent weeks was performed to Disturbed's Down With the Sickness... kind of ironic given the lyrical content... God bless you strippers who can do a good dance to some metal, you get copious amounts of my cash every time

And Liar just gets me to run that extra mile.Interesting how Korn has resuscitated their career... didn't they hire those Swedish guys who write songs for Spears, Aguilera et al for this release? Talk about your scary metal

Customers are welcome to post about music, as well--in fact a good percentage of the posters here are customers.

I think any Panic! At the Disco would be amazingly upbeat and fabulous for any high energy, fun dance.

Also, if you threw in some Dresden Dolls (only piano and drums) you could get that antique cabaret feel

I'm really liking this band Wolfmother: http://www.myspace.com/wolfmother Robert Plant-ish vocals and vintage guitar tones, I'm curious to know if any females like their sound?

Try the new Disturbed remake of an old Genesis song: "Land of Confusion".

New Audioslave track "Original Fire". It's okay, a bit too repetitive for my personal tastes.

PEEPING TOM. I'm really digging this cd. It's Mike Patton from Faith No More/Mr Bungle/Tomahawk etc, with various guests like Rahzel from the Roots, Dan The Automator, Massive Attack, Kool Keith, Norah Jones etc. It's....interesting. I've played "Mojo" a few times at the club early in the evening, but I don't know about the rest of it. It's definitely weird, but worth a listen if you're into it.

The new Evanescence single "Call Me When You're Sober" can now be easily found online. It's a decent, if fairly typical tune for them. Mellow piano beginning, then all rawkin' out with a little slow bit in the middle. I predict it being played into oblivion at an SC near you.

Also, a new track from The Killers called "When You Were Young". Not bad, I only listened to it once. It seemed catchy enough.

I don't know where to put this one, but there's another new Paris Hilton song, too. "Turn It Up". As much as it pains me to admit, it's very playable. Poppy dancey r&b-ish track somewhere along the lines of Gwen/Britney/Ciara type of thing. Whee.

Okay...I was never a fan of what I had heard previously. BUT.

The new Lamb Of God cd "Sacrament" blows my balls off. If you're down with the metal, and I know a few of you are, I just rocked this so hard in my truck on the way home it's now eerily quiet in my house. Oldsk00l dueling guitar riffs, crazy double bass and from the depths of hell snarly RAAAAAAWR vocals. I'm in love with this cd right now. I'll probably be over it soon, but. Holy Shit. The chorus from "Redneck" is stuck on repeat in my head.

If you guys are like me, you tend to really need slow music that isn't overplayed.
A friend of mine turned me onto this website and I bought then cd through cdbaby (the link is there.) You can hear every song here on this page just about, and I use 'How I feel', 'In my head' and 'Coming True'. You guys will hopefully liek it as much as me. Trillion is great. Give it a go.

first off - I wish we had more of you rock chicks at my club! 2ndly - if I ever played Lamb Of God or Cradle Of Filth @ my club - I'd be fired before the song ended. :)

That being said - there's a TON of cool club friendly rock out these days.. which is great.

If you are looking for FUN rock songs that can get a crowd going - although they are a bit old right now...

Hoobastank's - Inside Of You, Danko Jones - Forget My Name, and RA does an amazing cover of Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic. (they also have a ton of other great songs - Do You Call My Name, Rectifier from the first CD, and The Only One & Fallen Angels from the 2nd)

I love this song, I've been playing it in this set: Buckcherry - Crazy Bitch
Buckcherry - Lit Up
Spiderbait - Black Betty

i played that crazy bitch song for a girl, cause some drunken ass was trying to get her to dance for it. it's all right i guess.

i'm still trying to convince girls to dance to songs frrom Necro "the sexorcist".

not to name drop - but I was hanging out w/ Jason Bonham - who is John Bonham's son - and WolfMother came on the radio - this was over the summer.. when they first started to break.

And he says to me - I kinda like this band - they remind me of my Dad's band.

I thought that was cool - kind of a nod of acceptance from him :)

Industrial Goth -
Combichrist has a song called "This shit will fuck you up". It's alot of insane sound but I saw a girl dance to it and it's workable. Sortof reminds me of early Trent Reznor and NIN. There is a techno/industrial mix by them with Icon of Coil for the song Regret (combichrist remix) that is a great beat too.
Older rock, I still say Brutal Planet by Alice Cooper has a killer throbbing dance beat.

Actually, H.I.M. has always had a club connection for me since 'Wicked Game' was released in Europe .... check out

Thanks for the link, and the HIM version of "Wicked Game" is fucking great!

yeah, the first time I heard / saw HIM's cover of 'Wicked Game' I knew that this was a band whose music would absolutely work in clubs !

also, from the standpoint of my 'historical' music tastes, Ville Valo of HIM appears to be the 'heir apparent' ...

MrChristopher
10-21-2006, 01:23 AM
I love this cover, but I have been playing it for about 4 years. The version I play is a little heavier than the video version, but it's not the album version,...I "borrowed" it from a girl in Tampa.

New Buckcherry tune, I haven't seen anyone mention it yet. It's rockin' and fun, but beware if you're not allowed liberal usage of the "F" word. Maybe we should just start a sticky thread for ALL new tunes, what's hot, etc...? What say you, almighty bowl of fuck master?}:D
