I see all things sort of like "The Matrix". But there really is no flesh. The whole universe is constructed of thought and all things, matter and energy, are constructs of a yet undiscoved law of physics as it pertains to thought.

There is no life or after life. All is an illusion.

I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone keeping myself awake at night pondering non-existence and having existential anxiety attacks!

So the jury's still out here too. I would love to believe in the continuation of conciousness after death, but so far, have no evidence to support it. The most convincing "evidence" I've encountered so far is that the body at the time of death loses 21 grams.

Wow! I'm surprised at how many people are into the religious ideas of the afterlife...heaven, hell, reincarnation &etc.

Hate to be a stick-in-the-mud, but I'm in the worm food camp.

I don't think it's necessary to ascribe esoteric meaning to life and death...I think the cycle of nutrients returning to the earth and being used by the next generation is pretty cool, and a noble enough end.

When I die, I believe my soul will go to a garage in south hampton.

Heh, I don't know what's out there when I shove off this mortal coil, but I know nothing I've done to that point will be worth leaving behind ;)

Well, there's always frisbeetarianism. The belief that when you die your soul goes on the roof and gets stuck...

^LOL

I always tell people ......when I was a girl, I woud sit on the roof and watch the sun set. At that point, I could not tell where the land ended & heavens began (the sun sank behind the Diablo Range.) Why should I look at life as if it is different from that scene?

& I don't feel comfortable discussing this, but certain changes & events in my life have made me treat Death & the Afterlife as an everyday topic. Not all cultures push it aside.
