Tiff, sorry to hear that you are going through this. My closest friend has dysplasia, which was diagnosed shortly after she was diagnosed with HPV. Right from the beginning, her doctors treated her as if she were the world's biggest slut and the only person to have been diagnosed with it. Not only different dr's she saw, but also many of the nurses. Thye all seemed to make similar comments like "Do you even know who you got this from?" etc. When she was going for treatment, she would come home in tears b/c of the way she was treated. Not only that, but each dr she saw gave her different information about it, like no one knew what they were talking about. So, while it probably won't make you feel better, you are NOT alone in this. I wish you the best. Good luck with everything.

when i found out i had it i went to an all women's clinic and have since reccomended my friends at work to go see them, they treated me with all the respect in the world and performed a treatment for my warts with an acid treatment. it burns for about 15 seconds and turns all the skin infected with the warts white (ont good if you work in all nude clubs or have warts going beyond your g-string area) and they just flake off in three days. i too was less than informed about this std and almost went to kill the guy who gave it to me. the only problem i have with mine is that they only occur after i have sex so i just gave it up. i don't want to have to visit the doctor after every time i have sex since i don't like to have them burned off, but possibly marrying the right guy could make it all worth it. till then these legs are closed.

WHAT!? i live in canada... picked my own obgyn... and had the same procedure done at 20 years old. it was not a bad experience at all. i had to back for a second lazer procedure, and all was better.
i actually found out i had these problems while pregnant... and that scared me to death cuz cancer grows 10x as fast there when you are pregnant.
ask friends for a good doctor, and tell your family doctor to make you an appointment with him or her. you will be ok... when i first found out i wanted to jump off my balcony... but you would be surprised to find out how many women have to go through this. be strong, and don't take any shit from any doctor!
